Never EVER take your vehicle here for service. Took it in to see about three issues I had with my vehicle. Two fell under my warranty of my vehicle and the other under my after market warranty. They tried denying one issue fell under the GM warranty. I spent 3 weeks with numerous emails, calls, and messages that went unanswered. I finally got them to agree it was under warranty (federal mandated) and schedule the service. Schedule the repairs, drop off my car for a 5 hour job in the morning. The entire day passes. No call. By the time I give up and call, service is closed. So now, I am overnight with no vehicle and no way to get my daughter to school and work in the morning. I am furious. I talk to the Sales Manager who apologizes and says they'll call me in the AM first thing. 9am rolls around, still no call. I get a friend to drive me down there. The service person recongizes me and immediately has a list of reasons she forgot to call. Blaming the mechanic, being busy, etc. I try to explain what an issue this was for me but she keeps talking over me. I now see the email from the Sales Manager on her desk. She crumbles it up and throws it away. They offer a loaner and now claim they don't have the parts they need and it won't be done for another two days. I called for a status check every other day. Each time it's 45 minutues with no answer from anyone. I drive the loaner for EIGHT DAYS. This means my car was in the shop for nine days total. They call me on the seventh day claiming a modification voided my warranty and they can't do 3k in repairs under warranty now. I tried calling for 45 mins and no one would answer a phone. I left a vm asking for pictures and written proof as I may have to fight the warranty denial or have the dealership I bought it from cover the repairs. I pick up my car the next day. The service lady in charge of my case won't even look at me as I come in, she's helping someone else. Another lady helps me and she gives me the invoice asking for a signature. I begin reading and she starts talking thru the work done. I asked if the warranty denial is included along with the pictures. She claims she isnt sure and asks Susan who was in charge of my vehicle. She takes the papers from me and points the line item with a small note. I said this isn't what I asked for specifically and it includes no photos. Why? She claims the mechanic put it together before they could take photos. I said you had my car for nine days but magically the one thing I asked for was done within 5 minutes of my call requesting this. She said yes. I explained that I had never been treated more poorly, that i would go to the manager, and I would put my reviews online. She sighed and walked off completely ignoring me. I have never had such awful service in all my life. Don't EVER use them. I will be seeking the BBB and GMC Warranty for resolution to this matter. ---- Manager called me to say they've talked to the persons handling my service so it won't happen again. They've also offered for me to bring in my vehicle again and get pictures as requested. (There is no way I'm bringing my vehicle back in unless it's getting the repair fixed...for free) PLUS I realized they didnt fix the switches I requested. So 1 out my my 3 services were completed. In the past two years or so, I too dealt with that inconsiderate, loudmouth named Susan. Last fall, I drove in thinking my right front tire was loose (bolts), but since it was 5:15 and the service dept closed at 5:30, she informed me that there was nobody around to look at it AND they didn't have any loaner cars. She basically shooed me away. All this after being a customer of theirs for 8 years. Well, it seems things have changed, and I'm fairly certain it's for the better! I believe Bud Clary got the message that their customer service was the WORST, so they've let go of all those nasty counter folks and brought in new faces with NEW ATTITUDES. Yesterday and today I had the PLEASURE of working with Teona, who's been with GMC for ten years (in Portland, I think). The need for an oil change brought me into the service dept. She very carefully looked over my tires (they were just on the brink of needing replacing), suggested different brands and price points; spent many minutes going over all the items they'd check and replace/fix for a car with 138K on it, even checking my prior visit's paperwork (done by Susan...) to make sure no services were forgotten about or duplicated. As it was, Teona DID find numerous duplicate services "requested," so she fixed that problem pronto. For the first time, I was offered a ride to my house and back the next day, since I had to leave the Yukon overnight--so I got a free day that otherwise would have been spent in the waiting room or library or wherever else they'd have normally in the past spent a couple minutes to take me to (BTW, I live in Rainier OR). The final bill came to $300 less than the estimate--who'd ever expect that to happen? I came away with a new set of winter tires and multiple pages of information about my service (ALSO a first), which Teona went over with me before I left. And wonder of wonders: my tire monitors were for once hooked up and running correctly during my FIRST visit re: tire changes (they could never seem to get this right without an extra service visit in the past; very annoying). If all is as they claim for my car, I am one happy customer FINALLY. I had reached the point where I knew I had to find another service provider if I was to keep my 2004 Yukon, and I AM keeping it--but actually now with more peace of mind. Dealing with Teona was a real pleasure, but I must say it's been a long time coming. I think Bud Clary has heard all of our complaints over the past few years, and is finally doing something to rectify the situation. I still like their products, and now we just may be getting the respect we deserve as customers! Don't give up on them just yet~ read more

My overall experience at Bud Clary was very positive. The staff was friendly and responsive. If they didn't know the answer to a question, they researched and got back to me or referred me to someone who did know. Steve Wilson was the main person who worked with me. He connected me with a car I really like and is serving my purposes well. Though a small car--a Toyota Corolla S--it drives surprisingly smoothly. Steve's sunny, caring personality made him a pleasure to work with. He's stayed in touch about my car even after selling it to me and answered many questions. He offered to help me with the electronics. Timing was such that I couldn't take him up on that, but another staff member--Tyler or Taylor, I forget which--connected my cell phone with my car. Another staff person hooked me up with a trunk mat. The detailer made my 2011 car look like new. The finance person I worked with, Craig, taylored the extended warranty to my needs and later looked into a follow-up question I had. Ian helped me one day before the Corolla came up for sale. Steve wasn't working that day, so Ian printed off a few Carfax reports for me to take home to study. Thank you, everyone at Bud Clary who helped me or was simply friendly to me. I bought my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek here in April of this year. I think several of the unsatisfied reviews below maybe have to do with Bud Clary's internal processes and internal communication. And maybe that criticism is fair, I don't know. The people that I dealt with, on the other hand, were are all very warm and professional. My salesman, Jeremy, was very accommodating and willing to go the extra mile. He was willing to dip into his own paycheck to cover some of the window tint I asked to be thrown in to make the sale. I think the "sleazy car salesman" persona is a little bit old school; and treating your salesman like the enemy doesn't get you far. In the age of the internet, market pricing for cars is much more transparent. They're kind of serving two masters, so it's a tough role they have to play. In my experience, 99% of car salesman are honest and hardworking people like anyone else. And I think Bud Clary is certainly in the 99%. I've also had one service appointment there and was very satisfied with the treatment I received in the service center, too. They're good people, I'd buy from them again. Bud Clary made my first vehicle purchase in 16 years a comfortable and positive experience. The Internet Team (David and Kirstin) were both great to work with. They were attentive, thorough, willing to meet my price point, and did not pressure me in any way. David was very thorough and spent a lot of time with me throughout the process and thoroughly explained all the features of the car to me before I left. I had a concern about a high pitched noise during the test drive and David immediately got technicians out there to check the car over thoroughly. I felt reassured and confident that they would take care of me if it becomes an issue. My parents may be in the market for a new vehicle in the near future and I'm definitely referring them to you guys should they decide to get a Subaru (which I totally think they should!). After 10 days, I am totally loving my Forester. It's already been to the beach and back and I am overall very happy with my decision and with the deal I got. I purchased a used Subaru from Bud Clary Chevrolet/Subaru a little over a month ago now. I was absolutely blown away by the customer service I received from Brian Skolrud. The Subaru I was interested in did not originally have floor mats with it; I told Brian I was concerned about having floor mats and he took the time to go find a set of Subaru brand floor mats and pressure washed them for me on the spot, even though he was wearing dress pants and nice shoes. I purchased the Subaru with a small chip in the windshield; Brian included the repair of the chip in the purchase of the vehicle and was sure to facilitate the repair to completion. Ian Burgess helped us find the perfect car for us by patiently listening and asking and doing what a good salesman does; drawing out our needs and responding with suggestions. We sort of had in mind a sedan when we went there. But we really use our older Subaru Outback for hauling kayaks and dogs and the like. Which Ian picked up on. And was extremely knowledgeable about the Subaru Forester and it's safety feature I had not uncovered through google. The dealership is low key and does not have the feel of hungry sharks waiting to pounce, though Ian met us right away. As it was getting late he suggested we come back the next day for a test. In the past, most salesman would do anything to keep you from leaving. The rest of the sales and financial staff seemed old hands and cordial and overall a pretty nice buying experience. During my Bud Clary visit, I was surprised at how easy it was to purchase a Subaru from them. I had done my homework about the car and knew what my bottom line was, and the negotiations were done in a pleasant and timely manner. I had shopped for a Subaru in a Portland location prior to my visit and although their salesman was fine, they were not as willing to negotiate, and that experience wasn't pleasant. Ian was great. He was professional and courteous, besides adding to my knowledge base of the car. Craig dealt with the paperwork in an efficient and friendly manner. We visited Bud Clary on a Wednesday, checked out a couple of cars and were greeted by Ian Burgess, who gave us info about the cars we were interested but did not ask us for our names or contact info when we left. We were thinking about a trade in but were advised we could get better $ if we sold our existing cars on our own (thanks for the honesty!). We came back on a Friday and were interested in one Outback that they had little room to wiggle on price because of the year, low miles and extras the car had on it. Ian was great to work with and helped me find a more reasonable Outback with everything I needed. It was a long day, looking at, test driving and buying 2 vehicles but we are happy with what we got and where we bought it from. We are new residents to the area. We are not used to not only the level of service but the level of commitment that we have received at Bud Clary. And it is genuine. You call tell the difference. We purchased a new car there and it was not the usual car dealer experience, or at least to what we were used to. The deal went quick and without any issues. Our daughter purchased her car a month or so later because of We had a minor issue that we took our car to the service Dept.for. The problem was resolved quickly.
