I had terrible pineapple fried rice. Everything was soggy and overcooked, the aftertaste and headache that followed indicated that they use MSG for flavoring. The curry is very sweet and full of sugar. I was really disappointed tonight. read more

I have been eating at this restaurant for a long time. The food is great! Since the pandemic they are still only doing to go food. We stopped by and the man taking orders was clearly sick and tired of people giving him a hard time. I work in restaurant business so I can empathize that People can be so rude to restaurant staff. I could tell the way he reacted when we asked if there is a sit down service (it was a little confusing because there was one table outside,) that he is super frustrated with people not being kind about their choice to do only go food. I do not personally like to get to go food, I don't like the waste and I don't like getting really hot food such as curry in a plastic container. I wonder if this restaurant would consider going to ordering at a counter and giving people a number or calling their number to come grab their own food. That way the staff could have more pleasant interactions with their diners, create less waste, and people could sit down and eat this lovely Thai food. This is a great place but I felt bad for the staff because it seems they are at their wits end with being treated badly Or are just simply sick and tired of restaurant work. read more

Wow! I am impressed. Being a foodie who used to live in San Francisco, I know what good Thai food tastes like. This was outstanding! Everything we ordered had the pefect falvor and amount of spice. The food was super fresh and pleasing to the eye. We ordered garlic prawns (the sauce was amazing), pumpkin pork curry (so good with a hint of spice) and chow mein (YUM!). I was so full but couldn't stop eating because it was so delicious! The service was great to! Now living out in the country I was worried there wouldn't be any good eating spots nearby, but I am so excited I found this place! I even like the decor! The single best restaurant in Lake County. That may not sound like much, but the next step is; the single best Thai restaurant north of San Francisco, thus eliminating their close cousin in Calistoga (same family). Out of 52 weeks in a year, we get to-go from Buddha Thai roughly 52 times and would do it even more if they were still in Hidden Valley Lake. Basil eggplant - spectacular texture. Thai-style chow mein; to die. Spring rolls - whether with prawns or tofu - delicious and very pretty in presentation. The owners are on-sight and warm and welcoming. My co-worker and I were on a mini vacation to Middletown when we stumbled upon this Thai restaurant that's about 15 minutes from where we were staying. I was skeptical about this place because, well we were in the middle of nowhere, how good and authentic can their food be? Boy was I wrong! We strolled in on a Tuesday afternoon and were seated right away. We didn't want to spoil our dinner so we order a Pad Kee Mao and Mango Sticky Rice dessert to share. When we took the 1st bite of Pad Kee Mao we both agreed it wasn't that good and they put a lot of MSG or sodium in the dish. However, the more we eat the better it tasted. Needless to say, it was a delicious meal. I've had mango sticky rice from other Thai restaurants before but there's something about Buddha Thai's sticky rice that makes it taste so good! It is one of the most best tasting sticky rice I've had. It could be the rice they use or the warm coconut milk they drizzled on top, whatever it was it made us going back the next day for more! And more we both got! We had to go back the next day before leaving Middletown for lunch. They offer a lunch special for about $10 which comes with Tom Yum soup or salad. I ordered the red curry and it was so tasteful. They even have their rice in a heart shape which I think it's adorable! Even though it was a lunch special, I had leftovers to bring home with me for dinner that same night. Buddha Thai, I doubted you but I am so glad we ate there twice before heading home! If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely go back for delicious Thai food and mango sticky rice! I'm not a fan of their fresh spring rolls as they put mayo in them...MAYO?! Really?! They do state a warning in their appetizer section but I didn't really expect it in the spring rolls...oh, well...I have a source for good spring rolls... I am so happy this restaurant exists in Middletown, and wish they were open 7 days a week, or at least open on Sunday and Monday when my friends leaving a workshop at Harbin want to meet me for dinner. They would have so much more business open those two days. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is great. The décor is lovely. I wish they had heavy curtains shielding the car lights from the parking lot though- very distracting while dining. I hope this restaurant thrives with great abundance, as it is my favorite in town. read more

Only Thai food restaurant in town and thankfully it is delicious! The fresh spring rolls are great and I always ask for extra peanut sauce and they never charge me. Larb is yummy and I get it spicy. The pad thai comes with plenty large shrimp and tofu. They also serve lunch specials that come with a salad. I love this place. read more

Fabulous green Thai curry with tofu! The pad Thai is also top notch. I cannot leave town without first stopping by for a refreshing thai iced tea. We're from out of town trying to hunt for place to have dinner after working an event. In writing this review, I wondered what do I write first - how welcoming they were or how delicious the food was? Let's go with the owner and her staff. They were so welcoming to a bunch of 10 hungry strangers. You couldn't ask for better service. We even hugged good by in the end. She was just so special! Now the food since this is a review on the restaurant - the starters we incredible and stopped that hangry creep - we had the Thai crepe, spring rolls, chicken satay and thai rolls. My word all hands down amazing especially with the peanut sauce. The dishes - pumpkin curry was incredible, (how I spell the other items I'm trying) coconut soup (tom mun) very comforting, classic yellow curry you can count on, the green bean dish with beef was so tasty, and the pad thai was a classic treasure.
