Located downtown, the restaurant is surprisingly much larger than you would anticipate from that outside. Very spacious with large walking hallway to restrooms in the back. The food is more basic Thai food for the masses. Nothing to write home about, but definitely not bad. We ordered Pad Thai noodles, grilled shrimp and drunken noodles. We agreed the drunken noodles were the best. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. I loved some of the art pieces. read more

We had just finished a mud bath and massage treatment near by and were starving! Most of the weekend was american food and we were having Asian food withdraw! This place hit the spot. I came here after a nearby hike and arrived around 5. Downtown Calistoga was quieting down for the day, so street parking nearby was easy to find. The ambiance is clean and simple with touches of Thai themed art. Service was friendly and attentive. Ordered the avocado roll as an appetizer which was light and fresh. For entry I got the ginger veggies and tofu with a side of brown rice. This dish was excellent. Very generous portion with loads of colorful sliced veggies. Presentation on all dishes was also a step up with their carrot "flowers." It was a really nice meal, albeit pricey. They also have a surcharge for using a credit card, which stacks on when you're already paying $19 for an entree. That didn't sit right with me but I still enjoyed my meal and the experience. Was looking for for healthy vegetarian options when we came across Calistoga Thai Kitchen. The restaurant is very spacious with lots of seating. We did not have to wait to be seated, Our server was very friendly and immediately brought us water and a menu. We knew what we wanted as we read their menu from the outside and ordered almost immediately. Our food arrived promptly. My husband ordered the vegetable soup, which I also tried and enjoy. We ordered the green tofu curry with rice and that was very tasty. Overall a very nice meal at a great price. Note, if you pay cash the pricing is slightly less. It was Christmas Day and I was in search for an open Chinese restaurant in my quest to continue an ongoing tradition I've been doing for years in reflection of my love of the movie "A Christmas Story." If you know, you know. So I digress and on this holy day, the whole Napa Valley has taken the day off, but I found this gem of a restaurant open. I'm flexible so as my Chinese restaurant substitute, I went here, had no choice. I'd never been here, but a Thai friend once told me that if you want a glimpse of a new-to-you Thai restaurant, start with Pad Thai as it's their national dish and it'd be a good indication for the rest of the menu. In remembering that little pearl of wisdom, that's exactly what I did, an order of Pad Thai and I was pleasantly pleased. Pad Thai isn't created equally, some are overly flavorful that it's overwhelming and others, bland as cardboard. For me at least, this one order was perfection, the midpoint between too flavorful and cardboard. I was solo so I had the disadvantage of ordering one dish, but there were other tables that had a variety and the looked great, but in reading how others were enjoying their meal, it appeared convincing it was a hit with others. In summary, I give these folks thumbs up and perhaps my only other observation is that they're a bit overpriced, but then again, you're Napa Valley in Calistoga where things are expectedly premiumly priced. read more

Being that this is in a predominantly white area, it's nice that there even is a Thai restaurant here. That's why I'm giving 2 stars. That being said, they definitely cater to that market in terms of the taste. It's edible if you're really in the mood for Asian food and this is your only option. Otherwise, it's very poor quality, taste is bland, and feels very much like it was made with zero love. If you do order, be sure to get lots of fish sauce with fresh chili. I gave the food to my dog and he sadly turned it down. I ate just enough so that I wasn't hungry and ended up throwing the rest away. I wouldn't recommend. But if you're really hunting for Asian food in the area, you don't have much of an option. read more

Visiting the Calistoga area and decided to give this Thai place a try. When we entered the restaurant it was completely empty, but soon 5 other parties had joined us. The restaurant windows were open providing a very nice breeze into the restaurant. The waitress was very accommodating to our vegetarian requests, ensuring there was no fish or oyster sauce in any of the dishes. We first started with the avocado spring rolls - very tasty and fresh. We then ordered a variety of dishes to share: pineapple fried rice, basil fried rice, basil chicken (substitute the chicken for veggies and eggplant), pad kee mao, and cashew nut curry. My favorite was the basil fried rice and the cashew nut. The sauces on the dishes could've been stronger. And the spice more, but maybe this place is catered towards the surrounding community. Overall, we enjoyed a tasty and fulfilling meal. If you're in the area, be sure to try it out. read more

Tried the Chicken Panang Curry and was pleasantly surprised to see it came with broccoli, which is one of my favorite veggies. The veggies were steamed soft, but still had a little bite to them, and the curry sauce was served on top. A nice preparation technique that differs from what I'm used to. Loved it. I've been here often and it's a good place to get fresh food. BUT, the dishes all taste the same. The coconut soup and the green curry have the same broth! The noodles and the veggie stir fry have the same veggies. The price is a bit steep. For 2, it cost $30'ish per person! And that with just soup and two other dishes. Perhaps one can go there cause the food is fresh. But the variety is poor. Also, I had to send back a chipped plate and a dirty crusty spoon. read more

Good concept. Very poor execution. Unfortunately the place is obviously understaffed, which results in such a poor service and review. FYI, portions are not shareable. We sat down and it took us 40min to get waters. We actually had a small bowl of soup come out before the waters did. Thankfully we ordered that as soon as we arrived otherwise we wouldn't have received any appetizers until 50min after we arrived. After being as hungry as we were, we were excited to see food one out staggered. Unfortunately the food was hit or miss. I personally did not enjoy the eggplant I ordered. It was meant to be spicy and it wasn't. My mom enjoyed the green curry. Orange chicken was good. Pad Thai was good. In my time here, we saw a handful of people waiting for about 45min to get their check. Two tables had to go up and request to pay just so they could finally leave. Can't speak to their food quality or experience, but it was hard to watch. Knowingly we expected the same thing. We saw one couple get seated and notice what was going on, they asked how long food would take and then they left immediately after that conversation. The vibe of the place is good, but if they'd like to serve more customers they need to prepare better. I wish this place good luck as it improves its service. read more

3-26-22 We drove from Sacramento to our first stop, Old Faithful Geyser. By the time the geyser finally spewed sky high it was lunch time. Once you're close to Calistoga it's a short drive as the town is more compact than St. Helena. We found parking on the main thoroughfare called Lincoln Avenue. We started walking down the right side of the street and came upon this restaurant. It's quite large and decorated with very beautiful artwork. Both our cells had maxed out with no battery so we chose a table by the front door sharing the same outlet as their lit Open light. We needed it to find our hotel later. Each dish we ordered was incredibly delicious. Thai food is my favorite and the flavor created by their chef was remarkably outstanding. The restaurant has large open windows affording their customers people watching activities: the comings and goings of the sidewalk and across the street. Many people brought their pedigreed pooches. One guy on a scooter ate it right in front of our table- he let out a yell and fortunately he had a helmet on cuz his head hit the cement. A large well dressed woman offered her hand and pulled him up. What a nice introduction to our 2-1/2 day visit in Calistoga. read more

This place has an open window seating. We enjoyed sitting inside, in the shade but felt like we were outside while dining. They delivered fast authentic food on our way through town. Our server was nice and the place was clean. We grabbed crab wontons, chicken satay and calamari apps. The sauces were pretty tasty but my favorite was the peanut sauce. Good eats. There's always that one Thai spot in a vacation town that serves decent-ish food tailored for the American palette (aka sweet and not really spicy). That's this place. It's not bad, but it's not that good. Breakdown: Food, 3/5: a lot of the dishes we got were much sweeter than what we expected. Granted, being from the Bay Area probably skews how we think of Thai food, but everything here is much sweeter than we're used to. The portions are also smaller, and the prices aren't too different from Bay Area ones. Service, 4/5: service was kind of slow, and the two servers seemed like they wanted to chat with each other over getting to their customers. Granted, it was a rainy evening, so service was probably slower than usual, but it did take us a good 10-15 minutes to get our check at the end... Location, 3/5: again, parking was the main headache here. Calistoga is a small town, and though this is located right along the main street, it's still decently difficult to find parking when there's only maybe 5-6 spaces a block. read more

Not bad Thai food. More of a 3.5 stars, really. Overly sweet which is generally a sign that Americans (myself included) in that location weren't used to the salty, sour and spicy elements of that cuisine. Not sure how much to fault the business for that in a touristy town, hence the 4 stars. The fried veggie rolls were tasty with a subtle yet familiar white pepper flavor. They came out piping hot and had a nice crunchy texture. The Tom Kha soup was quite sweet and needed lime and chili paste which we were provided with when we asked. The flavor of the soup was also a little underwhelming, not the rich broth I've had at other Thai places. The Pad Kra Prow with deep fried tofu had good flavor but was very mild. It needed a bit more heat and more basil. The tofu is thinly sliced which I'm not used to but it was fried well. Rice is perfectly cooked and shaped into a heart which is a nice touch. Portions are a bit on the small side. There was only one person running the front of the house. She managed to get to all seven tables and service didn't seem slow but it was sometimes harder to get her attention. read more

The Tom yum was packed with veggies and flavor and the red curry was fully loaded. I loved every dish, we seriously had zero leftovers by the end. If you want spicy you have to add powder and sauces which just doesn't cut it flavorwise...I like it cooked in... Food all pretty much tastes the same. Nice people but I can make better at home. They accomodate veggies and vegans but they decided to leave out fish sauce on all dishes is what the waiter told us... So close...they have the ingredients, just not the touch. read more

This was a fun place to stop for lunch in Calistoga. It's very serviceable Thai food - not super authentic or anything but you will see the kind of dishes you are familiar with. I had the lunch special with eggplant with tofu and it was a good lunch-size portion. We did get the tom yum soup as well and it was pretty good and did come with a lot of veggies in it. It was well spiced but not super spicy and not as good as my local place in San Jose. (Seriously we have amazing Thai food in San Jose but if you are reading this, and in Napa, that's not going to be very helpful!)
