Horrible, rude service. From the moment we stepped in, we felt unwelcome. There was a constant vibe of disapproval from the older server. She was unapologetically and blatantly rude and cold, and nice only to the white guests in the restaurant. Pressured us to order within two minutes of when we arrived. No niceties or pleasantries. Food was dropped on our table without a word and without any regard. The fried rice was a soggy mess with more chicken than rice. We asked the younger server for extra rice showing her how little rice the fried rice actually had. She said "well that's because you ate it". !! Then she got a small bowl of white rice but charged us for it later. The entire time that we were in the restaurant, we could not think of anything else to talk about because of the extremely unwelcome vibe from both the servers (maybe they also own the restaurant). The saving grace was that they reminded us of our shopping bag that we forgot at the restaurant. I feel sorry for both the women - they must be really dissatisfied with their lives to treat customers this badly, without any provocation. It's Treat O'Clock in the North Bay and I had to treat my tired self to some takeout dinner this week. Wanted to try something veggie-forward and something new-to-me. I ordered the Pad Khing Sod: ginger sauteed veggies with tofu. It was ready in less than 30 minutes and carried well as takeout. I enjoyed the mix of veggies and the light and fresh ginger sauce. Restaurant opened at 11am and we ordered pumpkin curry with chicken, pad see ew with beef, and the tamarind trout. All were excellent!! The chicken was perfectly cooked and the pumpkin curry was yummy. The pad see ew noodles were cooked so well it was hard to stop eating them. My favorite was the tamarind trout. It was delicious and crisp and the sauce was sweet and tangy. The place is cozy with only 6 tables and Toom our host and server was nice, kind, and a delight. I've been dying to go back ever since I came here for the first time. I came here for lunch with my boyfriend, so we didn't have a whole lot of time. I ordered the Tom Kha soup as well as some noodle dish I had seen posted by someone else. The lady got confused and only brought me the soup, and I was so sad because the soup was so delicious I knew the noodles had to be good as well. My boyfriend got the pad see ew, and it was also very good. Having lived in LA for the past 8-9 years, there are a TON of Thai restaurants, and I can honestly say the Tom Kha soup here was one of the best I've ever tried. I absolutely loved this Thai restaurant that I went to last night for the first time! The food was very flavorful and delicious! Loved the ambiance and the service was great! We shared spring rolls and I had thePra Ram Tofu, which is a peanut sauce over tofu with a mixture of steam veggies. My husband got a dish with chicken and noodles and absolutely loved what he got as well. The portions are generous so I took some to go since I couldn't finish it all. I was glamping in the area and decided to order take out. I ordered the Pad See Ew with shrimp, chicken satay, cucumber salad and a Thai iced tea. It told me 30 mins for pick up. When I arrived, there were 2 sets of customers waiting. They were slammed and behind. I was told my order would not be ready. Waited an additional 15 mins. I went back to my car and the lady called me once my order was ready. I specifically asked for utensils in the order but was not provided any. The food was delicious! Fresh tasting, good portions. When we got to the door, we noticed that the restaurant's operating hours were unclear due to some missing information on the closed board, so we couldn't determine exactly when it would close. Once we entered, the staff member, who seemed older, was resting and talking among herself. However, her demeanor was very uncomfortable; she looked at us with disdain. After about ten seconds, she reluctantly informed us that they were about to close and did not appear to want us to stay. Before their redo inside we definitely rated them MUCH higher. Cute decor, yet the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE chairs (in the world says mom). Shocking hard wood and narrow. Looking through Yelp, we arrived at Thai Orchid Cuisine. It is located in a shopping center and parking was widely available. We ordered Tom Yum chicken soup, beef Pad Thai, green chicken curry and their combination fried rice. The Tom Yum chicken soup was phenomenal. They were very generous with the portions of chicken and mushrooms. The broth itself was perfectly seasoned and tasted very authentic. Their beef Pad Thai was so delicious. They used the kind of noodle I love whereas the sauce coated each noodle perfectly and everything was well balanced. It was perfectly seasoned and so flavorful. The green chicken curry was as perfect as green chicken curry can be. It had the perfect level of spice and curry flavor. The combination fried rice was full of flavor, fluffy and perfectly cooked! Our server was very warm and kind. She was very attentive and made sure we were happy with our orders. When we complimented on how well everything tasted she was happy and very humbled. I enjoy eating at family owned restaurants for this reason alone. If there were a 3.5 stars, that's what I would leave. We have, as of last night, given up on this local spot -- and that's a shame because we tried *very* hard to like it (like 10 times over a 5+ years). This little food town of ours has surprisingly few solid ethnic takeout places (Bollywood being the current exception). For those who love this place, great! We all want little spots like this to survive. My experience is that the vegetarian dishes lack flavor and use way too much fried tofu-to-veggie ratio. The pad see ewe & pad thai lack sauce, flavor and fresh veg, though the noodles themselves are fresh and well prepared. Curries are solid! Pad prik king used to be good, but the last few times has been little more than steamed green beans with some tofu & a splash of weak sauce. I can't speak to ambience, as we've always done take-out. The place is ONLY a take out, no dine-in, the lady at the counter seemed quite disinterested, impolite and in some sort of a rush (while there were no other customers when we stepped in). Today's exploration was to Thai Orchid Cuisine in Healdsburg. Only one lady working the front dealing with To-Go orders and waiting tables but I was promptly seated. The ambiance of the restaurant transports you to another place that you forget the location is in a tiny strip mall. I ordered the Pad See Ew Noodles w/Tofu and Gang Pumkin Curry w/Tofu and with side of rice. Both were very flavorful and decent sized portions. This was a tasty little Thai place I hadn't been to In Healdsburg. This place was gluten free friendly, and said right on the menu to ask the server for options, always a huge bonus for me. The prices were reasonable and the portions were large. We got this yummy coconut milk soup with lemon grass and the meal followed. I got the pad Thai which was flavorful (a little heavy on the sauce) and again, big portion. The servers were nice and attentive, it was quiet but we went New Year's Day so I don't know what the lunch rush looks like. Overall I'd definitely be back next trip to Healdsburg. read more

I couldn't recommend Thai Orchid enough! This is another incredible restaurant that I have been going to for more than 10 years and have never sent anything back. Never a problem with consistency before covid, during, or after. As I have said in other reviews, the bar is extremely high in Sonoma County. I would have to say out of all the other Thai restaurants that I have been to this is my favorite. Authentic, flavorful, and clearly made with love. Starting off with the Duck Spring Rolls and a side of peanut sauce is a nostalgic tradition for me. My new favorite appetizer of course paired with the Spring Rolls has been the Keow Tod, (potstickers). Some of my favorite entrees are the Pad See Ew with chicken and the Kang Kari. The Pad See Ew is an extremely filling homey dish that has a little sweetness to it. It consists of wide rice noodles with egg and broccoli. The Kang Kari is a mild yellow curry with carrots and potatoes. It has a little kick to it that for me is just perfect. However, I'm sure the heat can be turned up upon request. These 2 dishes go together phenomenally and of course must be washed down with a cold Thai Ice Tea or one of their incredible Sake options. For me, preferably the carbonated peach Sake! Huge compliments to Chef Kim and the whole staff! You are all so kind and never cease to make us feel like family when we visit, as you have for more than 10 years.
