With a variety of options on the menu, such as plates, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches with steak, chicken, pork, cheese, and fish, and an assortment of sides like mozzarella sticks -- there's really something for everyone to enjoy! They have slushies, cookies, floats, and ice cream for your sweet tooth as well. (I actually haven't tried those). Schaller's is known for their giant buckets of pickle chips you can help yourself to. This place opened me up to enjoying pickles on my burgers, honestly, because I always thought I didn't like them but I figured I'd try them again to see what the hype was about here, lol! I have been to Schaller's a few times with my partner. I usually just get a burger and a side. I have tried the grilled chicken as well before I started eating beef again. Everything I have tasted so far has been delicious and it is quite affordable, too!! If you're in Rochester, I feel like this place is a necessity to try. I think you will want to come back !!

Served in a to go box, my meal was as follows: the base is crinkle cut fries and macaroni salad, topped with a cheeseburger patty, then they add "hot sauce" which is a spicy meat chili and then onions, and mustard on top. It is for sure a heartburn city and it was perhaps two pounds of food. I did some damage here, not just to the food but probably to my diet. There was so much here that I skipped breakfast. But it's an experience and should not be missed. [Review 1524 of 2024 - 440 in New York - 22547 overall]

This is the only place in…read moreRochester that you can get a "garbage plate." other places in town, sell them, but Nick's has the name trademarked, so they can't call it a "garbage plate." It's a big plate of food. You get your two proteins, macaroni salad, Home fries their chili sauce, diced onions, and if you want it, mustard. As weird as it sounds, it's amazing. My two proteins., I chose two "white hots." it is an unsmoked, uncured sausage, made with pork, beef, and veal. The three combination of the meats, give it a rich creamy, meaty texture. It also comes with French bread on the side. And of course, I had a diet Pepsi. Lol I was First here some 10 years ago. , This visit was just as good as the first. The chili sauce definitely has a kick to it, but it was well within what I like for spicy. The macaroni salad was a good quality, and it was not overdressed, the Home fries were tender, I normally don't care for yellow mustard, but it was perfect in this plate, and as I mentioned, I liked the white hots, , and the onions gave it a nice little "pop" as well. (I can't believe I'm describing the garbage plate like it's a gourmet dish or something... :). They say it's the perfect hangover cure, because the grease sops up the alcohol. Hey, it's not diet food, but as they say, "fat is flavor!" I had enough to take with me for a second meal. I also got one of their T-shirts for a souvenir. This was just a great plate of food, and I will be back the next time. I'm in town. Thanks

I have tried all of these options and they are all fantastic, but I am a purest and love the kosher all beef dog with grilled peppers and a touch of sauerkraut the best. You can also purchase frito-lay bags of chips and bottled/canned drinks. He uses local wieners ...tee hee....from Hofmann's franks based out of Syracuse New York. Lou notes that he thinks that "central New Yorkers prefer the grilled flavor to the classic New York city steamed or boiled hot dogs." This is why he switched to a gas powered grill in 2001. I can't agree more, I love the grill. Lou is super friendly, and he'll chat with you as he prepares your dogs. Its $2 per hot dog. One dog is a great snack, 2 dogs or 1 chicken spiedie is a great meal. Lil Red Caboose is one of the few lunch/dinner spots in the small town of Clyde, New York. It's located on a corner street, on the way to Sodus Point. It's a outside seating, small stand. The Lil Red Caboose offers a variety of different meals such as Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, French Fries, Sausages, Mozzarella sticks, and of course, the Zwiegles Pop-open Hot-Dogs! I stopped by and picked up a meal I remembered having when I was younger, fried mozzarella sticks and a Red Zwiegles Pop-open Hot Dog. I picked up a order number and took a sit in their outside tables. The ambiance was so relaxing, surrounded by greenery with the sound of nature. The meal was out in about 15 minutes. There was [5] Mozzarella Sticks, thick and filled with cheese. It came hot off the deep fryer and the Zwiegles red-hot dog was cooked to perfection, not too burnt with just a slight crisp to it. The food was delicious! With the Zwiegles, typically you fill up the pop-open hot dogs with onions and peppers to enhance the flavor. Sauces were on the house. The meal came out to be $5.50, quite reasonably for the quality and quantity for food!

It was between a 3 and 4 anyway, so 4 is fine. The original review is below. I love a good burger and have had some truly spectacular ones in my day, so I had high expectations of this place considering the reviews. That was my mistake. The service was really nice although the wait time was a little hefty. Like a hefty bag. However the burger was definitely aimed at the kinds of people that don't have the same sense of taste that I do. For example a ton of tasteless melted cheese with some tasteless meat that wasn't juicy enough for me. It just didn't do it for me at all. The milkshake tasted like Hershey's syrup mixed with creamer. It also wasn't the finest hour of milkshakes. However they are a little local business and apparently the locals really like this place a lot so three stars is fine. I guess. Keep your Zocs on.
