Would've been a 4 star based on a lot of things. Ambiance was great! Had a group of 6 or so, and gathered in the back, in what seemed like a living room area. It was nice, and good for conversation. Once we figured out that we had to go to the bar to order, everything was on track. The thing that brought it down for me was that they have a website that is way out of date. The hours aren't right. The menu is different. I made a reservation for 3PM because that's when they said they opened, and the system LET me! They don't open until 4PM. Just weird. If you're not going to keep your website or reservation system up to date, get rid of them!

Relaxed feel, attentive people and good value. Tried the toasted ravioli and Cabernet on this visit. Definitely recommend.

This is just what Washington Avenue ordered and it's one worth raving about! Buddy's Bistro and Wine Bar is a spot you want to linger, sip, and savor, especially once you hear the namesake: it's named after Buddy, the owners' beloved dog. That alone makes me love it. The star of the menu? The tower of food. It's as much a feast for the eyes as it is for the taste buds. Piled high with an assortment of apps, it's the dish to order for a table that wants to share, sample, and try it all. The vibe is laid-back and stylish, the kind of place where you can dress up a little or roll in for a casual night out. We had so much fun exploring the menu and soaking up the warm energy of the space. Check out their events. I love a spot trying to build community.

Small venue with very chill vibes. You have to order at the bar there are no waitresses that walk around. The drinks were fantastic, but the food was hit or miss. Seems like they have a couple special items and the rest is just bar food. Would recommend for quick drinks, would not recommend for larger parties

Saw this floating around IG and had to pop in... glad I did! The space has a warm and inviting feel to it even with the tall ceilings. The windows give a great view of Washington and the hustle and bustle of city traffic, but you can't hear it inside with the relaxing music playing. I took a seat at the bar and the 2 ladies on staff were very friendly and lively with personality as well! I went with the All Day Happy Hour House Red Pinot Noir and it was very smooth. An order of the Hot Lip Chicken Bites for a snack and they did not disappoint. A few bites in and I was reaching for the water. Flavor was very good and balanced with the heat. Overall, a great addition to the downtown scene.

best bartender in st. louis! delicious food (flatbreads, burgers, quesadillas all great) and drinks (creative cocktails), great vibe, decent pricing.

Nice, trendy spot for drinks & a bite to eat. Very chill vibe. Did not eat food this visit. Very knowledgeable owner & bartender. I tried The Rabbit Hole which is a gin based citrus flavored cocktail initially & changes flavors after you bite the buzz button. Nice selection of wines and beers in addition to cocktails. Nice addition to Washington Avenue.

So so good, loved the ambiance and that you can stay and hang out without feeling rushed. The live music was great and food and drinks were excellent.

Buddy's is a great spot! Nice selection of wine, good food, friendly service, and they even had live entertainment. It was less than 2 blocks from the Marriott and Convention center so a nice short walk when I was just there on a business trip. The photos are a little dark but worth checking it out!

The vibes at this new wine bar downtown were unmatched! On Wednesdays they have live music which was the perfect touch to the atmosphere! Lots of different seating options and they even have a large projector playing classic b&w shows. Buddy's had a unique selection of cocktails and wines for anyone to choose from- the breakfast espresso martini was made with bacon fat-infused vodka which was so neat!! Our bartender was actually the owner and was super helpful and insight on the beverages they offer. Food selection was small but not basic, would just love to see more options once the restaurant has been in business longer! Street parking available right outside.

We came to this bar to test out the all day happy hour. There were not a lot of drinks options and no food options for the happy hour. The bartender was lovely and answered all my questions about the menu. I used to love Mango pre-Covid, so I enjoyed being back in this space. This would be a great place to have a networking happy hour. I would like to return when they get more food options on the menu.

I ordered a salad, cheese curds and a rum runner. The drink cost $14.99 and they ran out of rum but never told me, I had to chase them down to make me any kind of drink. Our group waisted 45 min for 3 salads and some sides. They brought the wrong salads and another woman from a group who ordered before us started waiting tables for them and helping them with orders in the kitchen. HOT MESS EXPRESS! Honestly the 1 star is for the comedy routine we got to watch while we ate, the bartender running back to the kitchen trying to help the cook designer peoples orders. The whole thing was quite eventful to watch!!

I wish I would have taken a picture of the tacos I ordered during my first visit, but I definitely forgot. I ordered a shrimp taco and while I was nervous that it would be small, it as actually a nice size and very filling. Was it a bit spicy? Yes. But I powered through because the flavors were good. The cilantro rice was also so good as a side and I loved the street corn, it was so creamy and delicious. My main pick when I visit now is the half southwest rice bowl with grilled chicken. It's been a few weeks since I had any pocket cash to go out to eat... so I decided to pick a food…read moresource at random for a Saturday afternoon, and I'm SO GLAD I did... You know how they say one of the best things about Mexico is the food? I have to admit, I would honestly wouldn't know and just have to trust the stories I've heard, as I've never been lucky enough to go to Mexico.... But all my life I've heard stories about people who go and basically remind you.. NEVER hit a restaurant for _authentic_ Mexican food. You want to hit the street vendors. Well, St. Louis has a fantastic surprise.. Now you can do that right here in the city! Part of a three-restaurant set up, Amigo Sole is the "street vendor" restaurant that's not on the street. (And having met the owner of the full set-up, I'm REALLY hoping i get invited to the grand opening of Jekyll & Hyde) As it was middle of the day Saturday, I didn't ask for anything alcoholic (so i don't know if the reviewer that asked for alcoholic beverages and was told they didn't have any was just unlucky or if it was true.) But I'll take a Mexican Coke over American Coke any day of the week (NO, get your minds out of the gutter.. not that powdered one!). Anyway, I went simple for a quick stop, and went with the Chicken Bomb. at the recommendation of the cashier and he was quick to name this one off.. (and always remember cashiers, have a favorite READY, so thumbs up to the cashier on this one!) . And then to my amazement.. no more than 5 minutes later, HOT, tasty, cheesy, chicken quesadilla style BOMB-diggity! (Ironically this one is not listed on the website menu, only the instore menu? Come on Sole, online is everything today :) ) Absolutely delicious food.. and absolutely messy too, as it literally would fall apart in my hands.. (HEY, that's a good thing!) As for the decor.. 100% true, as Amigo Sole definitely has SOUL! (and lots of soles!). Again Amigo Sole isn't designed to be a 'great sit down' restaurant, it's designed to be street-vendor FUN!!!! and with what decoration they have, it pulls it off fantastically in my opinion. So just based on my meal, what the owner told me about the Amigo Sole, you're getting EXACTLY what you're promised a Mexican street vendor serving fantastic Mexican street vendor food, only with a roof over your head the entire time. During the meal, met again (Who i believe to be) the owner of the store and talked with him about Amigo Sole and how amazing it was to me... and he told me about the three-restaurant combination. (And I apologize sir, but I completely forgot your name when we talked!). even mentioning they share three kitchens when it gets busy (so I was kinda lucky as i think the rain scared everyone out for the day), but I'm still hoping for the Jeckyll & Hyde invitation! (I'll even pretend to find a date if I have to for the upscale part!)
