This is the $18 shrimp appetizer.

$18 for the shrimp appetizer. They weren't even full pieces and that was the most annoying part. Am I being a yelp Karen or is this ridiculous?

Black Kale Caesar Salad

Very friendly and fast service. Outside patio is spacious and fully shaded. Black bean burger was great, garlic parm fries well seasoned with a spicy chipotle aioli, and super fresh kale Cesar salad.

Cobb salad to go - presentation is on point!! Of course the food was good too

One of the best places to get a burger in jersey city. I also love their Cobb salad and Buffalo cauliflower bites. Very casual place, good place for groups, kids, chill date. Love all the people who work here, been going here for years.

Walked in on a hot humid Sunday afternoon with a large group of 10 adults. Host was super friendly and accommodating, he organized a table and promptly seated us. Our waiter came over immediately with water and took our drink order. Decent selection of beers which were ice cold and perfect to watch the Euro Championship. Our waiter let us know the place is known for their burgers which many of us ordered. Fresh made patties. The steak sandwich and vodka sauce chicken parm were great options too. If you're looking for a great burger, beer and great service, you can't go wrong at White Star.

I come here some times when meeting friends for a quick one in the neighborhood. Consistent food, ok service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nothing too special about the ambiance here, pretty basic neighborhood joint, but we like it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This past visit, some of the couscous was undercooked and hard/crunchy though which is atypical. Usually cant go wrong with the chicken and the salmon, two best entrees on the menu.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a perfect casual date night burger spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was great as well as the service. They also have happy hour from 4-6!

White Star Warren is OG White Star's rich sibling. In essence they are the same, but Warren street's patrons are a bit more respectable and well heeled. That said I always find their space welcoming and cozy, even when it is fairly busy. I also love the private room upstairs for small gatherings. Stopped by recently to try the new specials spicy rigatoni and pierogies. Food was pretty good as usual, and the portion size of the rigatoni was generous. Service was great as usual.

Nice outdoor seating area, good burgers and friendly service. I do wish there was more sauce on the burger, but I still enjoyed it.

I haven't been to White Star since before COVID19 and wanted to check it out again with my friend since it's so close to the lightrail. I always loved the look of the place and I like how they added dividers between tables. They are taking some precaution. They did not check temperature but all staff were wearing masks. The hostess was welcoming and we were seated very quickly. Our waitress was very nice and catered to our table quickly throughout the evening. Me and my friend got the Winter Punch which is a rum drink and it was pretty tasty. We ordered the buffalo wings for apps and it was delicious! Never disappoints. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. I do wish there was more buffalo sauce on them...it was all sitting at the bottom. For my entree I ordered the White Star Burger and I did not realize until afterward but the waitress never asked me how I wanted it cooked. Sucks because it came way too undercooked for me to love it but I still finished it all. Lots of good flavors and I love me some caramelized onions! The fries were good, nothing great about them. They could've use more salt tbh. My friend enjoyed her Shrimp Poboy and it was huge for her to finish in one sitting so she took most of it home. Overall I would recommend this spot for a chill atmosphere and a place to have conversation because luckily the music wasn't so loud as other places I go. Do get the buffalo wings!!

Spaghetti Squash with Chicken
Alexis R.

Good vibes, great music (never too loud) and really chill atmosphere for dinner. Best later in the evening for date night when the local underage humans are in bed. Spaghetti squash (dinner only) is the best thing on the menu. Delicious, flavorful, ample portion and lovingly prepared--every time.

Always a good meal here. The past few visits I told myself I'd try something new, but I can never resist ordering their Paulus Hook burger (portabella, carmelized onions, Swiss, truffle mayo). It's such a rich and juicy burger, and I loved the truffle and mushroom flavors with it! My friends like their other burgers/sandwiches too, and we've never been disappointed. I'm also a fan of their fries, which are golden thin crispiness...just how I like 'em! They also have a solid drink selection; during my last dinner here, I had their frozen drink of the day, which was an aperol spritz. Definitely on the sweet side but still a nice cold drink in the summer!

Any gluten free options here?

Yes! They have steaks and roast chicken as well as salads. You could get a burger without the bun and they have vegetable side dishes.

The inside is nice and bright so it offers a great start to your morning. Also, the wifi is pretty good so no issues from a work perspective. I ordered an avocado toast along with a cold brew. This has somewhat been a routine of mine since moving here and I haven't really been disappointed anywhere I've gone. This was no different. Loved the picked onion addition too. Now - the pricing is not necessarily breakfast pricing. Expect to spend around $20 for both a breakfast item and coffee like I did. But if you have the means to do so, then you might as well.

Long story short I asked for refund but they said they have to ask their manager who's not coming back that day since it is holiday and I would need to wait until next day for refund so I end up getting a cheesecake instead. The cheesecake tasted little sour so initially I thought it went bad. Also it tasted like it's been sitting in the fridge for a long time. You know when you taste fridge smell from the food. I lost sanitation of their food and will not recommend it to anyone

Bonus - it was served with butter and house made jam. My husband got the mojo chicken which was also very good, especially the black bean puree. We also wanted to try the crispy bacon fried rice (which also came with an egg!) and it was something we'd definitely order again. Last but not least, the service was amazing! We finally had the opportunity to do so on a quiet Easter Sunday. First, the interior looks pretty amazing. A lot of history behind all the architecture and they did a good job preserving it. Because it was raining and chilly, we couldn't see the rooftop, but I can see the appeal. To start, we got an assortment of small muffins for the table. That was a nice touch. They were good too. For brunch, we each ordered omelettes. I got the Jalapeño & Cheddar while my fiancée got the mushroom and spinach omelette. We ended up complementing the items quite well. I did end up enjoying her omelette well. The vegetables were definitely fresh and cooked quite well. My omelette was nice and cheesy, how I like it. The jalapeños didn't have a crazy kick, but enough to satisfy. The potatoes were good too. There's no real coffee menu here (which is a slight miss), but I did enjoy the freshly squeezed orange juice as a nice change. I will be back.

I later ordered a cider that was delicious and pleasantly unexpected, it wasn't sweet like a typical cider but more dry and wine-like, which I loved. He followed up with a couple of beers after the martinis. The staff was friendly, conversational, and very helpful when it came to deciding what drinks to order. How the Chef managed to get the spice to meat tenderness ratio so perfectly, I'll never know but will always be grateful for. I tried the Cajá juice and loved it!
