My husband and I moved from Denver to Bellevue recently. The Denver Budget location was SO helpful and nice. They let us load our truck and then come back for the tow dolly. They put the dolly and car on for us. They even gave us a discount simply because it was my husband's birthday. So friendly! When we arrived at the Bellevue location, we didn't expect to have horrible customer service. She was snarky, rude, and didn't help in the least. My husband had pulled in where we couldn't back up with the tow dolly since there were no signs and no room to pull in anywhere else. You would think she would think of this if people return with big hauls. We figured it was ok after realizing we could go through because we were going to drop there tow dolly off first. The lady who runs the location doesn't have any way to lock up the tow dollys and complained that 3-4 a year get stolen (this can be easily fixed if she would actually lock them up). She said if we left the tow dolly here, it might get stolen and it would be on us. She then laughed at where we parked and basically said, "good luck!" She then watched from her window as we had to take the car off, the tow dolly off, back up, and put it all back together again... Worst customer service ever! I'm amazed she gets any business. Nobody came out to help or even bothered to ask if they could be of assistance. Take your business elsewhere! She's horrible to deal with and runs a horrible business. read more

Safe to say I won't be going here again. They 20ish minutes to process my reservation (although I'd booked online) cause of printer issues. Also the truck I had booked wasn't available and they gave me a bigger truck which I didn't need at all. In fact it limited my mobility and made me more anxious (with the extra truck size). I was getting late and they sold me coverage and liability. They quoted a package price which I accepted. On returning the truck they mentioned I'd actually have to pay separately for the coverage and liability and they're always separate. If I wasn't getting so late because of their inefficiency I would have bothered understanding the fine art of coverage/liability acquisition for rental trucks. The difference was just 16$ but the 'bait and switch' left a sour taste in my mouth. You have been warned about Gurcharan (I think) and Dustin's dirty tactics. read more

I even wanted to give no star to this Budget in general and this location. The manager at this location, Laura was very rude. She was insincere and being unfair to us as a customer. We called to this location when we found out that the contract we signed was including damage coverage for $30.99 (but we were told it was $20), and additional driver fee for $12 (we were told no additional cost), also charged us for 45 miles of driving but we only have 35 miles. She didn't try to investigate or ask the representative, Larry, who misinformed us. Instead, right away she said she believed in her staff and said didn't believe us that we got the incorrect information from Larry; she actually said yes we only had 35 miles (already a mistake but said they never made a mistake) When we were on the phone with her she was yelling most of the time and only talked without giving us a chance to say a word. Call Budget at 1-800-462-8343 to complaint about their representatives and billing, spoke to Emillo but he wasn't helpful and couldn't answer anything so I asked him for supervisor. He put me on hold for 29 minutes and hung up. Next day, call Budget again and spoke to Chris. Second call spoke to Lewis, same thing - couldn't answer so I asked for supervisor and DEJAVU!!! put me on hole for 15 minutes and hung up. I called back again and eventually could get a hold of supervisor. I didn't expect that they could help us on anything but would like to see how they were going to react and try to handle the situation. IT SEEMED LIKE THE COMPANY BUDGET DIDNT HAVE ENOUGHT BUDGET TO HIRE A GOOD RECRUITER TO SCREEN AND HIRING SOME QUALITY, PROFESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES THAT WHAT WE FOUND OUT. If I could give no stars, I would. The place is scheduled to open at 9 am on a Sunday morning, yet no one was there to open the store on time until 15 minutes later. Kim, one of the workers, came to the store on time but couldn't do much because she didn't have the key to the office. There was another Asian couple and she assumed I was with them bc I was Asian! This is regardless of me identifying that I needed to pick the truck I reserved. The Asian couple was returning their vehicle. So insulting. They couldn't even locate the key for the truck I needed to rent. Kim switched me to another truck, but it didn't have a lift I specifically reserved. She should have checked and asked if it was okay. After being frustrated with the new truck, the other worker finds the car to the old truck. This was a sick joke that wasn't even funny. I had to pay movers for the time I wasted at this place because they just sat around since I couldn't get to my place in time due to the delay from this horrible business! Then, the price quoted to me over the phone was less than what I had to pay. They told me it was $49 plus miles when i called, but when I got there, they said it was $59! When I drove the truck, it had all these maintenance lights on. Egads! I barely drove the truck (less than 15 miles) and got gas for it. When checking out, Kim said I didn't fuel up. I told her to double check and when she did, she said she was looking at the wrong gauge!! It was a complete waste of time dealing with these people. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Awful experience. They have a racket where they make you know all about commercial coverage. Nobody knows the specifics, even though I confirmed with my agent truck rental is covered. Also, they make you do walk around on your own and mark things. They won't allow you to do after hours return unless you pay for their extra insurance. And they waste 30 min to even get your truck. They start treating you nice if you buy their insurance. Otherwise not. read more

All over trying to get us to buy the insurance... even though my insurance company got on the phone and confirmed we were fully covered. So when we finally stood our ground and said no to the insurance that she wanted to charge an Additional $50/PER DAY she told us to go somewhere else and rent. read more

Worst experience ever at any rental anywhere. DoNOT go! They Work VERY hard to upsell but ZERO effort to clean the truck, or even do a walk around. Tank wasn't full, then of course it's nearly impossible to refill it without overfilling it and paying for someone else's gas. Not clear where to park when you return, but clear where NOT to...as they come out yelling unclearly.... the staff here is doing their best to ruin both Budget/Avis brands. read more

New manager in new location, as I was told. I rented a moving truck in Oct. 2013 and the lady there was incredibly helpful. I mentioned when I wanted the truck, and she mentioned if I rented starting a different day, the rates would be substantially less. Went with her suggestion and it was great! Rented a van for one night. I prepaid online for the rental. The line was long to pick up the vehicle on Sunday morning and they appeared to be short staffed. The person who showed me the vehicle did indicate on a form all the exterior scratches/dents etc. She did not indicate the current mileage or the gas tank level. I was told that the gas tank was full. After driving it off the lot, I noticed the gas tank was half full. I'd already taken the vehicle and I dreaded going back to the huge line so I decided to eat the cost of having to return the van with a full tank. For the rest of you - remember to have the rental associate check the gas tank level and mileage and take pictures of everything before you drive off the lot! The van also smelled like stale smoke and this was specifically a smoke-free vehicle. When I returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas, a different associate helped me and told me that someone had "fat fingered" the mileage such that it looked like I drove negative miles! I wonder if this has anything to do with the missing half tank of gas?! The following day I found out that I had been charged twice for rental; once when I prepaid online and once when I returned the vehicle. I called the Bellevue location, was put on hold for too long (the hold music is the worst I've ever heard!) and then was told they had no record of the pre-payment and I would have to call the number listed on my confirmation email. I called that customer service number and the associate checked my account. He confirmed that I had prepaid AND been charged by the Bellevue location. He said he didn't know why they weren't aware of the pre-payment. He refunded me the prepayment. I will not be renting from this location again. Susan Olson. She is the most passive aggressive, disrespectful, and rude customer service representative that I have EVER had the displeasure of coming into contact with in my entire life. I showed-up to this location to rent a truck and got there a bit before closing. I acknowledge that I was cutting it close and fully expected to be politely turned away at the door. What I experienced instead was the following... I'll do my best to quote our beloved Susan directly after I told her that I was there to pick-up my moving truck, "Wow. I don't like to go home on time... You're supposed to get here 15mins early for a truck rental. Those take forever to process. ID and credit card 'please'." I gave her my ID and card, then she aggressively started to enter everything, muttering under her breath, pouting like a 2yr old. She handed me insurance papers and told me I had to call my car insurance company and ask them to answer a list of questions (what!?). As I started to call and get ready to write, she started closing-up shop, throwing things into drawers, and TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS, then left the building. WHAT!? Then she stormed back in, pulled a basket out from underneath the counter, opened a drawer and started throwing handfuls of car/truck keys into the basket right in front of me - throwing them in. After a few minutes of this completely immature, unprofessional and passive-aggressive ridiculousness, I hung-up my phone and said, "You're in luck! My insurance office is closed, so you don't need to rent me that truck after all... by the way, your customer service is atrocious!" Then I stormed out and threatened to file a formal complaint with Budget (which I'm doing today). Unreal... if you don't want to accept another customer, just politely say so. I'm an adult and I knew I was running late. If I'm cutting it too close, try saying, "I'm sorry sir... we're closing up for the day. We kindly ask that truck renters arrive 15mins early, as it takes a bit longer to process everything. Would it be okay if we rent it to you first thing tomorrow?" Would I have been disappointed? Sure. But I would have turned around and come back the next day. Now? Not only will I never return to this location, I will NEVER rent or recommend that anyone consider BUDGET for ANYTHING. Franchise or not, Susan is the face of this company. And she just lost a lifetime customer for the company and a slew of bad reviews. read more

We didn't have any problems getting our truck on time at around 7am when they opened but it was pretty dirty in the back. I asked if it is customary to sweep out the back of the truck and the guy said this one just got back from Burning Man and will take a year or so to clean out...lol. I guess the roaches left from the joints and the layer of sand would have taken a lot of effort to remove??? My husband received no tutorial on how to drive the 26' truck, which is basically a semi-truck, but he was able to drive it pretty well except it crept up the passes at 45mph. The worst part is that the seattle location didn't fill up the DEF tank, which is necessary in that type of vehicle, so we barely made it to our destination. When we dropped it off at our destination the guy was surprised it even made it and said that one more mountain pass and it definitely would have broke down. That would have been awesome. The nightmare started when our budget truck broke down on the middle of a curvy down hill mountain road 45 mins from anywhere. Thankfully we had limited service and we called the roadside assistant number. It was about 8pm on a Saturday. We waited on hold, being told there were "high volume of customers calling and they would be right with us" for over an hour....no one ever answered. During this time a highway patrol officer stopped and tried to help us. He called a tow truck who said they had worked with Budget in the past. When the tow truck driver got there he refused to tow us because his company couldn't get a hold of budget either and they were worried they would not be compensated. So, two hours later we decided to leave our truck on the side of the mountain road and find a hotel and try to call again in the morning. In the morning after being on hold for 30 mins we did finally get to talk to someone who took our information and said they would get back to us. An hour after that we get an automotive call that glitched and didn't play the whole message but heard that a technician would be to us in an hour so we headed back to our truck. An hour and a half later no one was still there. When we finally got a hold of someone they said the technician was going to met us at our hotel (We had never told them where we were staying) and about 30-45 mins after that he finally showed up. Over the phone we had told the technician which belt on the truck had broke but when he showed up he came with nothing, looked at the truck for about 5 mins, left again to go get the belt we had already told him had broke. Finally he came back and fixed our truck. When we finally got to the end of our trip, a day late, and tried to talk to someone we were told that we would have to call customer service to complain (and probably be on hold for another hour or two...no thank you). SO, just know budget might be cheaper but it comes at a cost of time, sanity, and safety. Choose another company especially if you are moving a long distance. read more

Just rented three trucks for a moving project. Laura was amazing and went out of her way to accommodate our needs. Staff was friendly and efficient and got us in and out quickly even though it was busy. Definitely recommend renting trucks from this location. Much better than previous experiences at U-Haul. read more

Reserved my truck to rent a few weeks ago, only to arrive on time and be told they did not have a truck. DID NOT HAVE A TRUCK, and we are moving! Another guy showed up, and his truck was gone too. They called Issaquah, same problem, no trucks, over-booked. They complained that online reservations were the problem. I don't care, I had a reservation. This was outrageous. They said they would call us later in the day if people brought trucks back early (which they did but it was too late). Fortunately, we had a small pick up and a friend did as well, but it took us twice as long obviously. I will NEVER rent a car (when I travel) or a truck from Budget ever again. DO NOT RENT from this facility if you want a truck to move on the day you have to be out of your old place. It won't be there when you arrive. read more

This has been the worst experience of my life!!! Don't ever use budget! First let me start by saying we rented a truck for 1500 to drive from Seattle to North Carolina with my family and I am pregnant. Immediately when renting the truck or asked was it maintenenced? This is a long drive, of course they said yes. Well I noticed before leaving the shop the DEF fluI'd was not full. I went in and asked, they said don't worry about that. Well we started our drive and we get up to the mountains in southern Oregon in the snow and realize there is NO windshield wiper fluid. Really? None!!! We have to stop in the snow in the mountains to find fluid. We then have to call to figure where to put it in the 24 ft+ truck and are given the incorrect the information. In fact the manual in the truck was to the wrong model and didn't help either. Finally a nice trucker helped us out. That's when we noticed the coolant was low and needed to be filled as well. We call and complain which Customer service all together with them is a joke and not helpful. So then we finally make it to arizona and the DEF fluid light comes on. Even though we were told by budget to not worry about we figured we probably should since they didn't even check the truck before leaving. Well we call and are informed of the DEF fluid runs out we will break down. Wow great to know! We then from az to tx have to stop twice and put fLuid in. Thank god we called, 2 times now we could have ended up on the side of the rd pregnant and stranded thanks to them. Well were told by the bellevue budget office to find a budget in san antonio to take the truck in to have them check it and fill it. Well guess what we drive all the way there and they refuse. Our trip Iso only half done. I have never been more frustrated or upset w a company in my life. None of them cafe about their customers, their safety or well being. Read all the reviews before ever using budget. They will endanger u and your family as they have done ours and many others. It's disgusting. Roadside addtnl I could go off about for hours, no help, be smart go with another company! Disgusted. Fingers crossed we make it home read more

I'm writing this review in response to the service I received from budget rental .On my return went to pickup my vehicle car was keyed in parking lot they stated they have no camera's,and will not cover my vehicle. So it as tough luck. However I rented through Costco who I will be in touch with to let them know about service I received, so if You rent from Costco or just looking for rental . Forget this place . Horrible place to rent a truck. Rented a 12' box truck and got a confirmation email of it. I showed up promptly at 8 AM and was told that I have to take a 16' or nothing. I had 4 ferry trips to make with the truck and the ferry fare is $19 more for the 16' over the 12'. I did not have that much stuff to move and it had to be done with that many trips. This Budget office couldn't care less. They said Budget over-rents all the time. "You and 8 other people get a 16' truck today". Now if I had an in town move it would have been fine. I filed a formal complaint and the corporation said they would consider a $20 refund and let me know later. Have jot heard yet. People here are rude and don't care about renting a second time. Lady's name was Laura Roseveare. She said it didn't matter what my confirmation said, they will continue to do it again and again. She never even apologized. Rent somewhere else. read more

First and last time using budget. There was one truck left when I had a last minute moved so I took it. I was told that there was an extra charge for not filling the gas tank so I decided I would just put whatever I used back in at the end of the night. Apparently using bungee cords is an acceptable way to fix these trucks because when we couldnt get the gas in the tank no matter what we tried and looked under the truck the line that goes to the tank was bungee corded together! And then when we finally gave up gas came pouring out of the line! When I went to talk to the manager she was absolutely awful. She looked at me like I was an idiot and then when I told her that the tank was only 3/4 of the way full when I got it she actually started arguing saying that it was all the way full even though I have the paper work stating otherwise. If you want terrible service, and super sketchy vehicles, by all means go to this place. read more
