Entire process was excellent from the initial selection process to the 2 installation appointments.

If I could put "zero" stars , I would. We needed shades for our 3 skylights.There were so many issues that is simply unbelievable. Here they are: 1. The time frame of one month that we were given turned into 2 and half months. 2. Nowhere on the order was noted that we have a high ceiling, the same person who did measurement came to install and realized that he needs a large ladder that was in a big truck which was in the accident the day before. 3. He left and came back in a few hours and was able to fit a big ladder into smaller truck. 4. It took him a long time to learn how the system works, basically he read the manual here saying that he never installed that particular system. It took him 3 hours and he still has not finished installing even one skylight. 5. When I called Ed, he tried to blame me for not being sympathetic to the fact that car was in the accident (instead of apologizing to me for NOT rescheduling the appointment and training his technicians on how to install the system that was ordered by his company's representative) , he interrupted me very often and finally said that I acted hostile. Talking about great customer skills from the owner. 5. The installer came again, spent another 3 hours (total of 7 hours for 2 days instead of 2.5 that was promised). When he left, there were screws on the floor, plaster, and the bottle water half filled. Everything was super unprofessional and do yourself a favor to take your business somewhere else. read more

It took 5 months and 5 visits of trying to just replace my slider door verticals, replacing that cornice, as well as the cornice of my kitchen window. The measurements were incorrect for the cornices, which resulted in several remakes. While trying to remove my existing headrail, in the kitchen it was broken, resulting in future wrong measurements to replace it. They should have measured the broken headrail in order to replace it with my existing scalloped vinyl veins....not assume THEIR current flat style would automatically fit the width and length for my window. The first installer would become so frustrated because things were not working smoothly. He would try to convince me several times "We discussed this already!" But I would not accept the incorrect measurements nor shoddy work. Finally, the sales person had to come back and remeasure everything. I called the owner's office and requested his assistance......I was told he would get in touch with me. Absolutely No Response!! Finally, another installer came with the corrected and recorrected a few times, cornice, and spackled all the unnecessary holes in my walls. I was always pleasant and tried to be understanding of THEIR incompetentcies, except when I disagreed with the first guy that "we already discussed this" lie. The second installer was pleasant.....UNTIL as he walked out my door ...He stated your verticle blind (one he couldn't fit into the existing blinds, scalloped on the bottom).......BROKE!!! I had just personally cleaned all of them and handed them to him to install. Well, take a look.....looks like someone cut it .......TO GET EVEN?? for th incompetence!!! read more

The owner Ed Burns had Maya come out and help me decide which ones would look the best, and after ordering, Gene came out and installed them, and they look absolutely beautiful!! Such great quality, and so easy to open and close, and I can have the bottom half open and the top half closed if I would like, or the other way around, which is amazing! I won't bother with the full long review of all the issues faced with Budget Blinds, but overall not worth it to do business with this company. I waited over 6 months for my blinds - they were measured incorrectly 3 times and then back ordered. The salesperson had no idea what actually worked for the space or it would have been done correctly. Said sorry her bad she's normally right 9 times out of 10. Called and emailed the owner numerous times without any response. Even when you call the office to speak to him you are put back to the salesperson on your order. Goes to show how little he cares too! The only bright side to working with them was their installer - Justin. He worked hard to try and get it right after 4 failed installs from information from the salesperson. We worked with Ed for blinds in our first home. We called him on Saturday to see if he could come give us a quote and was able to stop by the same day! He was very patient with all our questions ( and we had a LOT of them :D) and recommended the right type of shades for our living room that gets a lot of sunlight in the mornings. We also got the Lutron Caseta Smart Home bridge and he went above and beyond with the setup and also helped integrate it with our Echo Dot!! The only issue was that the order was a bit delayed because of a problem that was eventually resolved to everyones satisfaction. But once the shades were ready, the whole configuration and setup was perfect! We love our new shades and we've received a lot of compliments for the shades from our friends and family! We had a great experience working with Lisa, she was very responsive and the blinds were installed within only a few weeks of approval. We had solar roller shades with an aluminum valance for a clean look installed and we couldn't be happier. The old bamboo blinds were very outdated and the new look really cleans up the whole room. I'm writing to talk about the wonderful experience I had with Ed Burns the owner of Budget Blinds in the Laguna "cities." I called Ed because I had seen his ad many times in the newspaper and I had a Roman "roller" shade that had already been replaced once because it broke and it had broken again. The guy who sold it to me was no longer in business. So, I never thought about having the manufacturer repair it or replace it because I thought that neither wouldn 't happen and so I just wanted it replaced. Well, when Ed came to my house and I told him I wanted another roller shade exactly like the broken one I had, he took one look at it and tried to fix it. Since he was very familiar with the manufacturer, he called them and asked if there was any technical help available to walk him through "repairing" the blind...There wasn't. So---he took it one step further and found out who had taken over the accounts of the guy who originally sold it to me. He got his name and number and I gave the guy a call and now my broken blind will be replaced. I didn't have to buy a new one all because Ed researched how I could get the broken blind replaced. I'm telling everyone this story because it would have been so much easier for Ed to just have sold me a new one. I was ready to buy one but he just kept finding out more information for me so that I didn't have to get a new one. I've not had service like that before ---I never even thought it existed. I have had blinds and shades installed over the years using various companies. This was my first time getting an estimate from Budget Blinds. What appealed to me with this company was the excellent five year warranty included with purchase. After leaving a voice message with Budget Blinds, within an hour, I received a call back from Lisa setting up my appointment. Lisa arrived on time and was very professional. What really impressed me the most is the amount of time Lisa took to explain the process to me, take measurements of all of my windows and really guide me what she thought would look best in my home - without ever overselling the product or any sales pressure. Lisa spent a few hours at my home and I never felt pressured to use their services and I did not feel rushed to make a decision. Lisa has great knowledge in design and her patient disposition and professionalism, makes her a natural in sales.
