It reeked of cigarette…read moresmoke, had cigarette burns in the seats, and was so unpleasant that my wife and I had to immediately return to exchange it, disrupting the start of our trip. During the rushed transfer of our belongings, I accidentally left my AirPods Pro in the first vehicle. While on my trip, I noticed they were missing and tracked them to Tampa while I was in Orlando. That's when I realized what had happened. When I returned and explained everything, I was assured the original vehicle would be back the next day and that I would be contacted before it was rented again. That never happened. Instead, the car was rented to another customer with my AirPods still inside. Later, I tracked my AirPods back to the Enterprise branch in real time and immediately called. I explained this was not a normal lost-and-found situation because I could literally see they were at the branch. The manager, Chris, dismissed my concerns, repeatedly said he'd "check the lost and found," and after I told him I intended to contact corporate, he simply put me on hold for over 30 minutes. I actually drove to the branch while still on hold. I introduced myself as the customer he'd had on hold the entire time. There was no apology. Instead, he refused to help, told me, "So go get them," and walked away. At that exact moment, I refreshed Find My and watched my AirPods leave the Enterprise lot. Another employee confirmed the car had just been rented. I then spent countless hours trying to resolve this through the branch, corporate customer service, escalations, and management. I was repeatedly promised callbacks that either never came or couldn't be returned because there was no direct number to the manager handling my case. The irony is hearing Enterprise's recordings repeatedly brag about clean vehicles and customer satisfaction while experiencing the complete opposite. What started as being given a smoke-filled vehicle with cigarette burns ended with the loss of my AirPods and one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Enterprise refused to provide any meaningful resolution. I will never rent from Enterprise again.

The reservation clearly stated a vehicle comparable to a Ford Expedition Max, Jeep Wagoneer L, or similar. About a week before my pickup date, I received a call stating they could not guarantee the vehicle because of "multiple recalls." I asked if they could obtain a comparable SUV from another nearby location, but I was told they had been trying and that other locations were focused on fulfilling their own reservations. Wanting to verify my options, I contacted nearby locations myself. They simply explained that this is a busy time of year and that larger SUVs are in high demand. At no point did they mention recalls, which left me confused and questioning the explanation I was given. The most frustrating part is that a reservation made over a month in advance should mean the company has a reasonable plan to provide the vehicle reserved or at the very least, a comparable replacement. Instead, I was left feeling like my reservation didn't actually guarantee anything. Offering a minivan or a smaller SUV is not comparable when the reason for reserving a premium full-size SUV was the extra passenger and cargo space. If your company cannot reasonably provide the class of vehicle customers reserve, especially when reservations are made well in advance, then expectations should be communicated honestly from the beginning. A reservation should provide peace of mind, not uncertainty days before a trip. Unfortunately, this experience has caused me to lose confidence in relying on this location for future rentals.

After two years of consistently renting from them due to…read moretheir convenient location, I can say with absolute certainty: Hertz is a terrible company with abysmal customer service. Every rental has been a disaster. One time, they rented me an electric car without making it clear in the booking or at pick-up that it needed at least EIGHT HOURS to charge. The car had less than 200 miles of range, and finding a charging station turned into a nightmare, wasting half my trip. Hotels with chargers? Good luck with their two spots, always occupied. Expect malfunctioning cigarette ports and USB outlets, rendering any plans for using a cooler or charging your phone useless. Often, the car I reserved isn't available when I arrive, and once, their listed address was incorrect, leading to a wild goose chase in heavy traffic. Calling customer service? Prepare for a 25-40 minute wait, all while enduring the most aggravating 30-second loop of music. By the time you reach a representative, you're already at your wit's end. Speaking of representatives, when I finally reached Jumaine, employee #2323, he was as helpful as a brick wall, parroting, "sorry sir, but unfortunately that's our policy." After all these issues, they issued me a certificate which expired after just FOUR MONTHS, with the expiration date buried in fine print. Do yourself a favor and rent from Sixt. I'd even prefer Dollar Rental over Hertz. Their customer service couldn't be worse.
