Would not recommend Budget. Every time I use them they charge for gas even though I refuel before the car is turned in. The last time I rented I even told the attendant not to charge for fuel because it's filled, they did anyway so I have to call and be questioned about where I got gas, how much, what time. Long story short, booked 4 months in advance, they called an hour before we were suppose to pick it up and said they didn't have any truck for us, I even called the day before and confirmed everything. After stressing out they called back and said they found a truck at the airport. Airport is more expensive, no discount was given, and on top of that they were rude and created a lot of back and forth hassle because they messed up the names on the paperwork. We always go through Raul on Tropicana, He's no longer there but his training still shows, And the Tropicana Budget I have never had an issue in 20 years. I reserved a car a week in advance, but when I showed up, they told me there were no cars available. Instead of honoring my reservation, they offered to put me on a waitlist....with four people ahead of me. Then they had the nerve to offer me a smaller car for a higher price. So just to be clear: they didn't have the car I reserved, gave no warning, and their solution was to charge me more for less. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. We have rented from this location twice in the past two weeks, and we have had a good experience here so far. Last weekend, I rented an economy car for my spouse to take his parents on a weekend road trip to Los Angeles. We wanted a fuel efficient vehicle to offset California's high gas prices and thought this was a better option over my full-size pickup truck. Check-in was quick and easy, and they gave us a Hyundai Accent. Overall, the car was great on gas, and it got them safely to L.A. and back to Vegas with no issues. The only downside they had was my mother-in law said the smell of Mary-Jane started to become very, very strong 1/2 way to L.A. once the air freshener wore off. I noticed when we picked up the car that the smell of air freshener was very powerful. We brought this to Budget's attention when we returned the vehicle, and they were very empathetic about it and apologized. They explained that they try very hard to educate people about not smoking in the vehicles, a they do impose a fine on those that do violate the "no smoking" policy, but this is Vegas after all, and no matter how hard they try, people here are still smoking Mary Jane in the cars and it's extremely hard to get the smell out. We totally understood their dilemma and appreciated the explanation and apology. Our second rental was this past weekend. We opted for a full-size rental this time and received a Toyota Camry. I'm telling you one thing... this Camry was absolutely amazing on gas! It literally got us to St. George, UT, Page, AZ, the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and back to Vegas on less than 1 1/4 tank of gas. The Camry was also clean, stylish and smelled very clean. Overall, their rental prices are very competitive, and the staff is friendly, welcoming and generally care about their customer's experience. My mom accidentally left her purse in a rental with over $2000 in her purse.. went back for it less than an hour after the rental was returned and the employees there claimed it was cleaned and rented out claiming there was not bag. Rented a car from this location and was going to return the car Monday morning because they don't have a drop box and are closed on Sunday. Dropped the car off at 7:55am when they open at 7:30 and was charged an extension fee. Tried calling three different times to see why the extension fee was charged and got hung up on every time after being on hold for 10-20 minutes each time. UNSAFE VEHICLES... Nothing but EXCUSES!!!!! Picked up car and Drove into Desert from Henderson Nevada location to California. We got stuck with no oil in car and no A/C halfway to Anaheim. Called Budget and I was told to drive to the Anaheim airport to exchange the car. Upon returning the 2nd vehicle, they gave me a surcharge of $196 for gas, because I didn't fill up the "UNSAFE VEHICLE" before returning it to the airport location. It was impossible to get gas in a unsafe vehicle when I had 2 small children who were suffering from heat exhaustion. The temperature had soared to 118 degrees, in the desert and I was unwilling to put my family in further danger. I was told to call Customer Service. I have still not received a call back .... Booked online Sunday for a Monday morning pick up. Tania was my service rep and was a total gem. She had my paperwork up and ready to go when I walked in. I reserved a car for the week to drive around town as my car is out of commission and she made the process smooth and answered any questions I had. Personable and professional. Her colleague brought the car out and I was on my way in less than 10 minutes. This store has amazing customer Service! I've rented from this location multiple times and always they go above and beyond.

Budget company need to educate their people to reserve a car. We drive here and there is no car for us to pick up. They looked it up and said it's at the airport location so, They're sending us to the airport. To make things worse the one at the airport can't find our reservation. They do have cars but he said I have to pay more for it. That I've should have made reservation more than 24 hours, I told the guy I made the original reservation 2 weeks ago.. terrible customer service. Someone needs to look into this matter. read more

I have made this my go too for rentals. The vehicles are clean n the service is good. The 3 Star rating is because of the internet glitch and being unable to secure a rental online. Will never go to this place again. They do not honor your reservation and will not help, your on your own! I reserved a compact car a week ago for Thanksgiving break, came there in the afternoon and the guy said they have no cars cause people where not turning them in on time. They never called me ahead of time to warn me and was informed that next car would be first come first serve even though I had a reservation. I called budget customer support they told me they can get me another car at a different location but to try again at the original place. Came back to the original budget a few hours later. There was a different person who helped. The compact cars were still unavailable but she upgraded me for free to a full size car. The guy in the afternoon never offered an upgrade or direct me to another budget location to get another car. He had a I don't care attitude and told me he can't even call me if another car is available I just had to keep coming there. I don't know if it's because of this location or the afternoon shift worker but budget support says this is not standard practice to just leave you with nothing. They could of done so many other things if they knew they were low on compact cars. Inexcusable, you would be literally stuck with no transportation. Be warned. A tip, if this happens to you on a Holiday do not call budget rental, they will try to give you car at another location but with the 4x higher holiday price, call budget support instead. read more

I'm searching for a rental car with a complicated pickup and return situation and had legit questions I needed to discuss with a human rather than a simple booking online. So I decided to call this location since it's close by and perhaps I could get my booking information done on the phone. The guy answering the phone spoke so quickly that I'm not even sure what he said and I didn't catch his name either. So, rather than have a conversation with an unknown person, I courteously asked him his name. He answered me with a snarky chuckle and said, "what difference does it make?" I said I hadn't understood what he said and was just wanting to know who I was speaking to. After a second, I realized this wasn't someone I was forced to do business with and told him I'd just call another company. Car rental was fine, but on returning the car the attendant asked if I had a party in the car. When I asked to what he was referring, he said it was dirty. I ran the car through the car wash and cleaned it. He wanted to charge a cleaning fee. I've rented cars all over the world and have never been charged a cleaning fee. I am actually very surprised to see the overall Yelp rating of only two stars. Guess it's a good thing that I didn't read the Yelp reviews before reserving. We always rent a vehicle when we take a road trip which is at least twice a year. For the last few years, we've been renting from an Enterprise location using the Costco pricing BUT the last two times, they tried to sneak in the non-Costco price. The first time, I didn't catch it until it was too late. The second time, I did catch it and it was corrected before I signed anything BUT that sneaky trick is why we won't rent from them anymore. And they never have the vehicle we reserved. So I decided to try Budget using our AARP benefit. The price was great. We arrived an hour early so they gave us a bigger vehicle for less money. (It was the same price but we had requested GPS. The vehicle we were given instead didn't have GPS, so that saved us money. We didn't really need the GPS as we were going somewhere we've gone many times.) The outside of the vehicle was not very clean; the windshield was a mess. My husband could barely see through it, so his first stop was a gas station so that he could drive the vehicle through a car wash and then clean the windshield. But the inside was nice and clean; not the case with the vehicle we rented from the Enterprise on Eastern Avenue last year. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were a little bit nervous about agreeing in writing that we would pay $100 for excess dirtiness, so my husband not only filled the vehicle but ran it through the car wash before returning it. We don't have pets nor children, but ... it concerned us. In the end, the experience was very positive. I'm planning to rent a vehicle for my June road trip from this same location because of our good experience. read more

I had to cancel my appointment because I'm having surgery. My appointment was for the ninth to pick it up and I just canceled it today on February 26 and they charged me $50 to cancel it. I will not be using them and I will not recommend budget what a shame. I just returned a rental car that I had for a week due to accident repair on my car. Was charged $25 for hair on carpet from my beard! They claimed it was pet hair but hair is 3 or 4 inches long. Manager refused to wave fee, so they need to post a warning not pets and no one with a beard can rent a car with out a 25 detailing fee!! read more

I would give it zero stars if I could. I rented a car a few days ago, and the counter person charged me for extra insurance without consent. I had to contact Budget customer service to resolve the issue. I then left a Google review as well, and the owner said thank you for my positive review. If I could rate in the negative I would. Went on-line to rent a car and even did their "fast track" where you are suppose to avoid all the wait because I had a funeral I couldn't be late for. When I got to the counter the manger told me I didn't need fast track. But he would have to hold 250.00 through a credit card. NOT something mentioned on-line. So I gave gave him my credit/debit but that wasn't acceptable. Even though it worked to pay for the rental. While I am trying to think of a way to save this rental a woman comes up and is actively flirting with the manger who flirts back. All while I have this situation. He wanted to hook up more then resolve this issue. He wouldn't work with me at all even though he knew about the funeral. Will I never rent from this business again. 1st of all, I reserved a van for my family trip to Disneyland for an 8am pick-up time in which they didn't have a van for me, saying it was on its way from the airport. I arrived at 8:15am and the car still was 20 minutes away. Secondly, Tania M. the lady who spoke over the other two ladies behind the desk has no customer service skills. She does not give one care about keeping customers coming back. No empathy of how ill prepared she was for my arrival let alone any guests plans. If I could give this location a 0 I would, I pre paid for a reservation online, I'm 22 years old, and paid a young renters fee of $189 and paid for the rental, it came out to $989 for one week which is already pricey as it is. I get to the location and the lady let's me know she cannot rent to anyone under 23 especially for a convertible. My question is- why would the budget website allow me to place the reservation, take the money out of my account and when I show up, they can't rent to me? I had to leave for a trip today and had to figure something else out. This is a terrible rental company located in the Ford Country dealership in the Valley Auto-mall. The car they pulled up was filthy! Hair, fingernail remnants, food pieces on the floor. I said , "oh it looks like this one slipped through and didn't get cleaned". The guy actually said "Well, our vacuum isn't very good, do you want it or not". Which was AFTER I waited 50 minutes for him to begin working on arranging my car! I was his ONLY customer! When did good customer service become so rare? I don't even want to give one star!!! Ohh wow. What a terrible experience. I was Originally charged over $505. Which was MORE, than the quoted price OF THE RENTAL. The originally nice woman Kristina whom quoted the original price, (Well UNDER $500. ) told me that they'd just need to put a $200. Hold on my card. When I went to return the vehicle in perfect condition, this woman became a different person. Staring me down, extremely rude. When she had been very nice renting me the vehicle prior to lying to my face, & overchging my card with no notice what so ever. (Except for the fraud alert from my bank!) I've never had any rental car company pull anything like this in my life. That was my experience with this particular buget rental location.
