Had a cargo van reservation, three days in advance for my sons move.Got there at 9:30 am reservation was for 9 am, when we walked in they explained they had NO vehicles and that the manager left had called to let us know, when checking our phones, had a missed called 14 min prior, and 15 min after our pick up time, that they had NO vehicles! Absolutely ridiculous and not good business! Cost us triple to find somewhere else on a last minute availability. Would never use Budget again. read more

Dishonest outlet. Arrived at 3 pm on the return day and the office was closed. Dropped off the keys i the night drop and received an email the next morning (730 am) that the car had been checked in. Was charged an entire extra day ($134). Clerk told me I had to call a corporate number to get a refund and denied leaving early. Gave me wrong phone number and wrong contract #. After waiting on hold forever gave information to phone agent and he verified that the car had not moved since it was returned and they would review cameras. If they did, they would find I was on time with my return. As of today, no refund. I rent over 50 cars a year. This was my first and last time with Budget/Avis. Enterprise is honest, I will stick with them. read more

This place stole our money! My wife decided to use these guys instead of her normal rental place. She reserved a car and even prepaid for it. Huge mistake!!!! They processed our 460 dollar payment and then when she goes to pick up the car they tell her she is unable to rent the car because her debt card has too low of a credit score. I offer to use mine but they say it has to be the same card that was used for the reservation. We were upset because she needs the car for a business trip, but we agree. We say kindly give us our money back so we can rent somewhere else. Thats when he tells us it will be 10-14 business days before our refund is processed. My wife gets home and calls someone from the company and again is told 10-14 business days for a refund. Well 10-14 business days comes and goes and no refund. My wife again calls the company and then is told that it's not 10-14 business days , but 30!!! The person told my wife the old I don't know why they told you that nonsense. Well now 30 days has come and gone and they don't have any intention of giving our money back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! They will steal your money!!! read more

We had a death in the family so we had to immediately fly from Phoenix, AZ to the Richmond (Virginia) airport. We spent the night packing and making arrangements so we only had two hours of sleep that night. After traveling all day we arrived at the Richmond Airport around 11:00 PM. When I went to Budget to get our car, I was told it would be two hours before they had a car ready for us. The agent told us they had a car for us, but for some reason we would have to wait two hours and he would call our name when our car was ready. There were about 75 people all waiting for their Budget rental cars standing around the Budget counter. While I was at the counter, another customer asked if they had called his name. The agent's response was that he had not called anyone's name yet. So with only two hours of sleep in the last 36 hours, we were stuck waiting for our Budget rental car. We were seriously considering calling an Uber to drive us to our hotel which was 1.5 hours away. We had gone over to the Alamo counter, but they had a sign stating they were only taking customers with a current reservation. I had booked the Budget car through Costco and wanted them to know about the terrible position Budget had put us in. After calling Costco Travel, the agent cancelled our reservation with Budget and made one with Alamo. We went to the Alamo counter and spoke to the extremely friendly agent. Twenty minutes later we were driving out of the airport in our Alamo rental car. I will never use Budget again. Costco and Alamo saved the day. read more

This was a super quick and easy rental car pickup. This location was relatively non-busy (at least at 11am on a weekday), so it's always nice to not have to wait in a long line. Service was friendly and not pushy. The vehicle was as expected (or possibly even a class upgrade). It was clean and all features worked well. Overall, a very good experience that will bring me back to Budget when I need another rental car in the area! read more

Stay Away! Tried to rent a car for four days. Pickup and drop off from the website: 5:30pm. Were able to get there early for pickup someone put the drop off time as 5:00pm without saying anything. Also Heather failed to note a chip in the windshield when documenting damage. We call on our way saying we are just stopping to fill up and will be there soon. Heather says she will wait. Pull up at 5:04pm and she is walking out. "Too bad, you will get charged for another day" and refuses the keys. We had to call customer service to help. This is the first time I've rented a car from these folks but I was so impressed with how understanding and accommodating they were after I had to make some changes to my schedule (with no extra fees or penalties) that I knew I had to come on yelp and give them some kudos. I'm an RN working in California for the next 3 months and prefer to drive rather than fly due to my fear of flying. Lets just say all the high demand vehicles are saved for the airport and the not so popular cars are given to everyone else. I rented a Standard SUV, aka Ford Edge, so I could at least fit 5 adults comfortably for a week long rental. What I was first given was a Toyota FJ Cruiser. Now what 3 adults are going to want to climb into the back of that thing since its basically a big two door SUV. My only other option was the Nissan Xterra. Good for two adults in the back but not very good if you expect 3. Then there was the return. Only one person working and I was 4th in line when I got there. Lets just say it was very slow. They should really have two people working. Very disappointed in Budget this time. This will probably be my last time renting from here. read more

I just received the worst customer service in my life from Hope. I was not happy with the vehicle I was given but was going to try to make the best of it; however after driving home in it and realizing how filthy the inside of it was and how small the "trunk" area I knew it wasn't going to work. After having the vehicle for about 2 hours I brought the vehicle back to the branch to trade it. (I usually use enterprise and they've let me trade before with no problem). The girl at the desk put a call into someone above her named Hope who was not only rude but condescending and mean. While I was on the phone with Hope the girl in the office mentioned that she would upgrade me for $15 a day and Hope rudely said, "I would have charged you $25 a day." That comment was so unnecessary. Hope was also trying to charge me $104 for returning the vehicle in 2 hours, the rental for the entire weekend was going to be $129... it made no sense. I have rented so many cars and have never been treated so poorly. This was a terrible experience and I will never rent from Avis again. I rented through Costco travel and I am going to call Costco and recommend they take this Avis location off their program because the service is so terrible I don't think they would want their members to be mistreated this way. read more

Worst customer service I have ever had. The women at the front had a negative attitude from the moment we walked in. We were told we could not give someone the vouchers we had because they were linked to my account. What account? I have no account they are not linked to me in any way. In fact they were gifted to me. When I explained that they told me since I verbally told them they are mine they won't allow anyone else to use them.That makes so sense at all and that's the only answer they can give me. If I could give no stars I would. It blows my mind that they have good customer service reviews. That was not my experience. I called, a young girl answered, I asked 2 questions about what they needed from me to rent a vehicle which she answered in a short, rude, condescending, smart-aleck way, then hung up on me in the middle of my 3rd question. I called back and she would not answer the phone. Finally a young boy answered. I ask to speak to the manager... he placed me on hold for several minutes then hung up on me. I called back and they would pick up then hang up the phone without saying a word or let it go to voicemail. Sounded like 2 moody teenagers who could care less about booking rentals and customer service. They lost a customer and I will never refer anyone to that location, just the opposite, I will tell everyone I know or anyone who asks about my experience and discourage them from going to this location. DON'T USE THIS PLACE!... Go down the street to U-Haul and at least have peace of mind that there will actually be a truck available and ready for you when you reserve it a month in advance! They will even price match Budget. Then watch the Seinfeld episode "That's why I made the reservation!" to get a flavor for this place, and their unprofessional operation. Read on for my nightmare... I have nothing but complete dissatisfaction with Budget Truck Rental of Surprise, AZ, and wondering how such a completely simplistic business model of providing a rental truck that was reserved over a month in advance for a specific time and date, can be so catastrophically botched, other than by the utter lack of competence and responsibility of its employees. This is totally UNACCEPTABLE on so many levels, and companies like this should not even be in business. Any employees with direct responsibility for my inconvenience should be terminated. Or, in a perfect world, brutal accountability measures should be put in place for direct payroll deductions from the responsible employee to pay for my inconvenience. I had reserved a 24' moving truck online over a month in advance, for a one way rental from Surprise, AZ to San Diego, CA. I even followed up with a phone call the week before my rental date to make sure everything was on track, and spoke to Forest who confirmed we were all set with the 24' truck. On my move date I showed up to pick up the rental truck on and was told that they had no truck for me, and there was no other 24' truck available at any other location!! There was no early notice that there would be no truck available so I could make other arrangements. There were tons of logistics involved with this move, and all dominoes had to fall in place for it to be successful. It only takes the incompetence of one in the chain to screw it all up. I flew in to Phoenix from San Diego, had Uber rides lined up to get me to the Budget Rental Center in Surprise, AZ, had movers all lined up to load the truck, and then was told at the time of pickup on the day of my move that there was no truck available??? UNBELIEVABLE... I even submitted a complaint on Budget's website, and have not heard anything from them, so this goes to show that this sort of dishonorable and shameless business operation must happen often, and customer service cannot keep up with the number of complaints. Unfortunately, this particular Budget Rental location has severely tarnished Budget's reputation, and I will never use them again. I have had nothing but complete satisfaction with the car rental branch of Budget, but that too is in jeopardy with my personal business and my company's business thanks to this incompetent Budget branch location. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I had reserved a one-way truck on November 13th for November 28th. I arrived at 9 am with my son on the 28th to pick up the truck to move ALL of our belongings and the didn't have my truck. I waited for them to call the manager and try to get a truck there for me. After waiting for them to call back, the lady working the desk handed me their pbone and the manager on the other end said "We have no truck for you". I was pissed, beyond pissed.. it takes a lot for me to lose my shit but it happened. How can you possibly not have another truck? How is it that your solution to YOUR MISTAKE is to tell me there is nothing you can do for me.. are you kidding me? After telling the manager I would take the 26ft truck parked out front she told me she would have to call me back. Apparently the owner called back and told the guy working to tell me all the trucks where out and someone was coming to get that truck, there is nothing they can do for me. Seriously? You can't find one truck in the Phoenix metropolitan I can use?? Luckily for me the uhaul down the road had a same day truck rental for me and competent employees. I will never use budget again and I will make sure my friends and family won't either. If you want to get a stripe of grey hair, book your truck through budget for your on-way rental, that won't be there when you show up and they will do nothing to help you. read more

This location actually has Budget and Avis rentals. I have rented here for the last several years. Well, in December I rented and the young man who checked out the car didn't "circle" damage directly on the front bottom fender. He circled above that showing scratches, but not the bottom. Stupid me - didn't complain. Well, when I took the car back I was accused of causing the damage. I was incensed and asked the clerk to contact the guy because he would remember - she refused. She told me that the car came from the airport and if they had a record of it being damaged then I wouldn't be charged. OUT AND OUT LIE!! I just rec'd a bill. I know I didn't cause the damage - that was already there - so they must not have checked the previously rental OR the damage wasn't noticed that time either. I will never rent from this location again and I will never rent from AVIS again even though I have been a loyal customer for 25+ years. Prior to this incident I praised AVIS - not any more. They are as crooked as any other car rental agency. I am going to let as many people as I can know this. read more
