There is no option to give 0 stars. We had a reservation that was made over 1 month ago for today, go in to pick up and were told that they had to take the Van that we reserved to get an oil change. The rude agent said he called to let us know today at 2. (2 hours before pick up)! We did not receive ANY CALL. We asked for something else and was told no, they had nothing. Not sure how i missed reviewing here the week we had our car, but here goes. After the side of my SUV was Annihilated in a parking lot we were sent here by the insurance company to pick up a car. It was a pretty easy process and they even had a driver pick me up so I didn't have to worry how to get there. The car was clean and comfortable. A few month later we had to use them again and the experience was less than ideal. Everything was planned, organized and had to wait days for them to find a car and at the last second told me we couldn't have it because my daughter wasn't old enough to drive the car. Made an appointment hours ahead online, got a confirmation but when I got there they didn't have any of the cars so they said I could try and come back later or tomorrow. What!?!? Very upsetting how the staff doesn't seem to care about their customers. I walk in with my family after making a reservation two hours earlier, drive 30 minutes to get here, then walk in only to hear that there's no cars available. And it wasn't just us. Can I tell you, if I could give this place and the people who work here and are in charge a negative star rating, it would be negative -1000! DO NOT USE HERTZ. They will make you a reservation without knowing if they have enough cars to rent out to people on the day of your reservation. I made my first reservation at the surprise location, and they had no cars. Apparently saying "sorry fella there just aren't any cars" will just magically fix my car the collision center and magically pay the uber I had to get. I have been coming to this place for years, and the service has continued to go downhill, now to the point I wish I had the ability to add minus stars! I will not rent from this location again. They had one person here to help a roomful of people. Computer issues, car accidents, etc., all added to the mix. While this was just the latest visit, the last 2-3 have not been great either. I still felt in this moment how would the local store that had the reservation not reach out and say hey we see you have a reservation but will be closed at this time and change it with us, give us a heads up something. I had booked this rental at the recommendation of my insurance company while my car was getting repaired. They offered to pick me up at the body shop. The driver lets me off at the door. When I walk in, there are two women each seated at a desk. One was coloring. The other one didn't even look at me. I gave my name and she said, "what can I do for you" in a most unfriendly voice. The whole interaction was done without a smile as if she were doing me a favor by even waiting on me. As car rentals do, they suggest that you prepay for the full tank of gas. I have always filled up the tank prior to returning a car rental. The first time she offered, I said no thank you. The second time she nudged, I told her I always get a rental and fill up the tank myself. The third time she pushed and told me that only 15% of people return the car with the tank full because they forget. This was disrespectful and badgering. The car was clean and ran well. I did receive a call from Miss Sunshine the next day asking how everything was going. She was quite pleasant on the phone this time. So, I don't know what was going on in that office the morning I walked in, but it was a very sour experience. Returning the car was a breeze. But I will not use this Hertz again. read more

We had an amazing experience with their manager.. he was so helpful. We picked up a van to drive it home to Iowa, once we drove it a bit, we heard it making a funny noise. We call Tim immediately, he got us into a shop yet that afternoon for them to address the problem. It was fixed yet that day and new tires were put on ...we picked the van up, packed up, and we were on the road as planned the next morning. Rented. 7 seat suv a month out and they don't call but wait until we get there to pick it up and say we don't rent 7 seat suvs from this location. Wasted our time and never even apologized. They said let me fix the paperwork I asked does it change anything they said no. But it did hit charged and extra 40.00. I wish I could give ZERO stars. Came to get a car and Scott Smith had an attitude as soon as I arrived. I came when they opened. He said "it will be a few minutes" - i said "ok" he then said "well I just got here"- ummm, ok. Maybe not a morning person. I waited 25 minutes to be told he won't help me. I booked thru a rental site and prepaid for vehicle. Ascot tells me he can't rent to me without major credit car. I told him I was desperate as I needed to get to my fathers funeral. He told me to cancel my reservation. I read the sign and it said debit cards can be used. He said only for up to a full size. Ok then give me one of those. He said "I don't have cars" (the same website told me they had full sizes I could prepay for at same location for same dates- so he lied). Scott told me he won't help me and to leave. I got upset because now I'm going to miss my father's funeral. His response was to tell me to leave and call the cops - cops never came as I tried to resolve this with customer service line. This branch manager is a joke! He has no business dealing with people. I am going to headquarters to complain as this man should not be allowed to talk to customers. He is a bad look for HERTZ. I will tell everyone I know about what occurred today - I'm devastated for the trip I can't take. I'm a gold club member of hertz and was treated like trash at this dump of a location. I find it odd that I can get a full size SUV in Hawaii for $28.50 a day but the best this dump could do was $60 a day for a Kia in SUN CITY ARIZONA! Are you kidding me? What makes it worse is that when I took the KIA back, I overheard the employee saying "We have cars starting at $18 a day!" I only received my "Special rate," after calling the gold desk and having the lady in the other line tell me that she could get me 20% off of my $75 lowest daily rate! This place is in a dumpy 1970s strip mall that needs to be turned in and made into a proper dump! You are a manager. You must treat customers with respect. Then he indicated to one of his employees that he was beating me, and he beat me (and I am about to sue them in court). I recorded a video of them screaming and hitting me, which is the biggest evidence of their assault on me, and I will use it in court. I would've given them 0 stars but that wasn't an option: I had a reservation that was prepaid for pickup at 8:30am. When I sat down with the rep, he informed me that they did not have any cars available for me and probably wouldn't until at least noon and even then he couldn't guarantee that. He did not offer to call me if a car was returned so they could fill my reservation request. His coworker then very rudely made a comment back to me after I was starting to get visibly upset. When I went back at noon to see if that car had been returned they ignored me in the lobby for about 20 minutes and once someone finally acknowledge that I was waiting they quickly glanced at their reservation sheet and said nope we have nothing available. They have fulfilled at least 6 or 7 other reservations that were on their sheet after mine and had crossed my name off the list from earlier. I will never try renting from here again, worst customer service I have ever experienced, even after I apologized for my attitude earlier in the morning as that was not fair to them. I have never had a company make me feel like I was being blackballed into never being allowed to rent with them again until today and I will never try to rent with Hertz again! read more

The other hertz location informed me they would not be open the friday after Thanksgiving and to go to this location and they would let them know I was coming. If I could give this location No stars or negative I would. This is probably the WORST Hertz I have ever dealt with and I travel a lot. We had a reservation for a rental car for my mother while she visited with this location through AAA it was confirmed and guaranteed. Does that mean they cared or had a car? Nope. We got there to pick up her car only to be told "We over booked and don't have a car for you. There are 10 people ahead of you needing cars." They oversold by 20 cars at 10am on the day we tried to get it. The manager, Nicole, was worthless and basically said "Sorry, deal with it." Well we got AAA involved. We were called at 545pm when they close at 6pm and told they "finally" had a car. It takes us longer than 15 mins to get there and they would not make an exception. The manager guaranteed they would have a car ready and waiting the next day they were open. I called before going there only to be told again by "Tina" they didn't have any cars. When we explained it was guaranteed by the manager Nicole - we were told she called in sick and Tina could do nothing for us. When I asked to get the phone number for the district manager, she told me she would NOT give it to me and then told me to "Call back when I had a better attitude, and hung up on me." I get the feeling this office just does not care about making customers happy nor does it really want business. The inside was horrible and dirty. You could see where a trash was all over the floor, pictures missing from the walls, and the front door didn't even close. I would actually worry about getting a car from this place that is would fall apart. It is a shame this location is in a retirement town like Sun City where the clients probably don't really have other options. Shame on you Hertz for having HORRIBLE people working for you that seem to hate people and would take advantage of the elderly. I will NEVER be renting from Hertz again even if I have to pay a little more. Also we still do not have a rental car from them. I selected a Saturday pick-up and thought everything was fine. My credit card was charged and I received a confirmation so I never thought there would be a problem. I arrived on Saturday at my appointed time to pick up my rental only to find out they were closed. No one called me to let me know they would be closed due to Covid-19. Their website lists their hours as open on Saturday so I was shocked to find out I couldn't pick up my rental. I feel this was extremely poor customer service. I could have easily picked up the rental on Friday evening if someone would have let me know. I don't know why the on-line rental procedure would allow me to schedule a pick-up if they office would not be open. I understand I could have called to confirm but I had no reason to believe they would not be open since I received a confirmation. Very disappointed in their customer service. I had to wait until Monday to request a refund for which I had to wait on hold for 37 minutes just to speak to a live person. read more

My husband and I , rented a car at this location 9875 W Bell Rd, Sun City AZ 85351- on 9/4/20, what a big mistake!The woman at the front desk, red hair- was not wearing a mask at all! She did not have the basic manners to handle customers. She asked the young man for help in working with her computer. She was mean, did not pay any attention to our needs or concerns. She threatened us, told us that smoking, vaping or pets are not aloud in the car. I told her I am allergic to all of those things. She gave us a stinky and dirty, dirt on the side of the car. Whoever was in that car before us, was a heavy smoker. We paid a fortune to rent the car, because it was one way to Wisconsin, but because the vehicle was so messy we tried our best to reduce the time spent in that car. It is terrible for a non smoker to drive in a stinky car like that! When we left, her comment was: Crazy! That's why I did not want to come back and ask for a different car, I was sick and tired of her attitude! What a disgrace!
