FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD Many indicators of fraud and tax evasion (and/or money laundering) at this business. Its "cash only' and they dont want to release your vehicle unless you pay otherwise. This is illegal by state law. They give you an option to zelle payment directly to the owners personal bank account, but not to the business account. They bill for work that they do not complete and they also change their prices on a whim once they have your vehicle. They charged me an excess of $1,100 just to inspect my transmission but never split my transmission open to inspect it. When I picked my vehicle up the transmission was still factory sealed. The owner Sammy bragged about how rich he is and how lucrative his business is due to evading taxes and billing for work that was never performed. read more

I hope this business improves. I don't want to see small business go under, however, they have major issues which need to be addressed. It's borderline criminal. They are nasty when you call them out on the non-sense. Vehicle has been in their possession for over a month. Took weeks of me calling to get a diagnostic, still never got a diagnostic. Sent me some scribble on a piece of paper via text. I've received four different quotes with as little as two service items and as much as ten service items, all quotes are same price. Owner told me on the phone that the reason my rear wheel bearings would need replacing and other non transmission items needed to be replaced was to fit a transmission that wasn't the right size. He later denied this and said I was "dellusional, talking out of behind, and have zero knoweledge". I was told by two employees that I "can't pick" the service I want because "that's not how this works". I asked one guy exactly what "drum" I needed and he replied "I don't know". I was promised a one year warranty that later went to a six month warranty. Employee sent me someone elses' vehicle quote with personally identifiable information on it via her own personal mobile device. I requested a final quote and for them to return my vehicle after doing nothing for a month. I was told that, although the ad said they would return my vehicle after paying for service, my vehicle would not be returned to me, they only wanted cash. I have requested a total amount to pick for service and have not been given a grand total. Until this company learns how to operate with transparency, decency, respect; I would strongly advice going elsewhere. It isn't worth the stress and money you will pay for their 200 percent markups (which is CT max), unspeakably bad service. They have many complaints with BBB, you can read the owner's response to negative reviews and see how rude he is. They often take weeks and months to do crap repairs. My vehicle is being held hostage by people who have cost me $50 minimum per day for rideshare services, not knowing what's going on with my vehicle, not being able to plan properly because I would have never expected them to keep my vehicle for a month before diagnosising my transmission problems with non-transmission services. Please avoid this place, if there is a good review online, I wouldn't trust it. FYI, using a personal device to send and receive PII and then sending that information to a third party without the customers consent is neither legal nor appropriate. Just have some integrity and take ownership of your wrongdoings. Is that too much to ask? I have text and e-mail evidence available if anyone is interested. Oh, and after I pay for the service of not diagnosing my vehicle and keeping it for over a month, because I requested my vehicle back, I was told I would be charged storage. No class. read more

Had my work truck transmission rebuilt here. After it taking longer than they had told me it started having issues toward the end of the warranty. I brought it back 3 times for them to look at. Each time it's in I lose money as I am self employed. They know this and I remind them each time. The first time it was there 3 days and they never looked at it. The next 2 times they said nothing was wrong. The 4th time I informed them that I would get my attorney involved. This time they admitted there was an issue and I made an appointment for them to repair it. They assured me it would be done in a timely manner. Well after 2 days they still have not even looked at it! I am currently paying for a rental. DO NOT USE THEM. read more

I knew my civic si clutch has started to go. After calling a few places Budget got my business because I felt that they were honest, and very promising to deliver on the work my Civic needed. I was afraid of auto repair places ordering cheap parts (clutch in my case) and charging me like if they bought top brand for replacement. Sammy the owner asked what I wanted, brand and model. He got me what I wanted ( Excedy stage 1) and texted me a picture when it arrived. He actually gave the year warranty on parts and labor for something he does not normally orders. I just picked up my car today 01/04/22 and so far everything is great. I will update if anything changes, and if it does I'm sure Sammy and his team will take care business! So truck left me stranded again. With same issues that budget transmission has already tried to fix two times I guess third times the charm. Update 6/11/2021 Today my dad called in after towing the truck over and he was told by the receptionist on the phone that " WE WILL NOT FIX YOUR CAR UNLESS YOUR SON REMOVES HIS YELP REVIEW" I have never heard of such a thing? Also I was told that the transmission was overheating due to a blocked passage way not a control module. I think sammy has me confused with someone else. I've attached a picture of the write up which does not state anything about a control module what it states is that budget transmission will fix my transmission for $4000 dollars. read more

I was treated with no respect from the office worker Mike and when I spoke to his boss Sammy he tried smooth things out but made promises that were not kept. This place is a chop shop at best. No repairs get done right at Budget Transmission. Thankfully I got my car out of there and had it repair by an honest company. I feel bad for the next customer that walks through your door. You will probably treat them with no respect. It's very easy to file a complaint with the DMV and the BBB it only takes a few minutes I suggest everyone that has been taken advantage of do so. They will either change or go out of business. Also the Department of Consumer Protection does not show that Sammy or Mike are licensed to do the work they are selling. I brought my 2012 Jeep Patriot to Budget Transmissions on the Post Rd. to address bearing noise after being told by my local Jeep dealer I needed a complete replacement of my 5-speed manual transaxle. I spoke to Mike and explained I researched my problem and had already purchased a new Performance Clutch and SKF bearing kit on-line. He said they could rebuild my manual transmission with the new bearings and replace my clutch and quoted me a labor estimate. Initially, the work was supposed to take less than 1 week, but their technicians found worn synchronizers in the 3rd and 4th gearset that needed replacement. These parts had to be ordered from Chrysler Jeep. So this added a few more days and labor cost. In the end, my Jeep now runs quietly and shifts smoothly. The only minor complaint I had was during the wait for parts, the vehicle was moved in and out of the garage, and the driver left some grease smears on my front seat cover. Its not a big deal since I was going to buy new seat covers anyway. I would definitely recommend Budget for your transmission repair work. It appears their skilled technicians know how to properly rebuild a manual transaxle. This type of precision work takes time, so plan on making other transportation arrangements to allow the work to be completed properly. Mike and Tammy were great and the charges I paid were fair and reasonable. My Jeep is back up and running at less than half the cost quoted by the Jeep dealership! read more

This is my opinion of this place based on my terrible experience with this company. I would have been better off going to my car's manufacturer, at least I would leave with a car that works. As of today, Saturday 02-21-2009, the day when I picked up the car, it had exactly the same problems it did when I brought it there. They had my car for 10 days and it is still not fixed. I was compelled to write this because my car stopped on me, got it towed by Triple A, back to them to repair it right. The guy Sammy is very dishonest. I don't think this man has an honest bone in his body. I didn't want to go to the car dealer because they quoted such a high price to repair the car and I searched around and found Budget Transmission. Thinking that they would fix my car for far less than the dealer, I decided to go with them. I coudn't have made a worse mistake then this. As a matter of fact, I am several hundred dollars over the dealer quoted price of and my car still doesn't work! This is incredible. This guy Sammy told me today, after I went on a test drive with him that he doesn't fix rear os sensors and cam shaft position sensors. My first call to him was do you fix my particular car and he said immediately yes! After I paid him the full amount of for my car repair, the check engine light was still on, it drove the same exact way as before, and I had to have in the car with me to show him that it is acting up (which he agreed), he then told me that hey, he doesn't fix those engine sensors. Why didn't he tell me this before I handed him my car? I requested for my car parts prior to today and today when I went to pick up my car, I asked him where was my car parts? He answered, "Oh, I will have them for you by Monday (02-23-2009)." By law, I am required to have my car parts, I requested for my parts on (02-16-2009). I still don't have them. You know why? He didn't really do the work. As a matter of fact, he supposedly replaced my computer in the car today and I asked him for my old computer and I didn't get it. This man is such a snake, I can't believe that he is still in business. Please be warned, you are better off going to a reputable company or your car's manufacturer to get your car fix. Do not go there unless you enjoy getting ripped off. As I am writing this, after 10 days, I still had to return my car back to him. I really hope it gets fixed. I will keep you updated. I am basically broke and I am giving him one last opportunity to get this write before I may end up suing him. I will be reporting this place to the Better Business Bureau and I will be contacting an attorney to help me in case this con man wants to make out with my money and car that is still not fixed. Again, this is my opinion of the terrible service I got from this hole in the wall snake transmission shop. I want to save anyone else from going through the headache I am going through. Please stay away from this place. Note: this guy Sammy comes off as nice and he always seem to have an answer to your questions, but what criminals tell you that they are going to rip you off ahead of time? He committed two terrible acts: he quoted me a price and all of sudden I get a call saying I need a torque converter and it is going to cost me a few hundred dollars, and once that I was done, the day I was suppose to pick up my car, this snake told me again that I need a computer and that will cost me a few hundred dollars. Now when I got the car, it didn't work and he didn't give me back my parts! I know he is breaking some state law here and I hope to have some result from this. I brought my f350 pickup truck to budget transmission in August. The brakes needed to be replaced so I informed them I would like to get them done. I later received a call saying it needed front end work which I was aware of. I was impressed with the call as everything I was told I was aware of. The last place I had work done at tried to sell me everything under the truck. While waiting for the parts to come in I was offered a great deal on a car wash and interior detail. Got great service. Horrible service. They were very polite and curteous before I made a $1000 depsoit. I asked them to honor the coupon on the website, the told the price of there qoute already comtained the discount. The qoute was $2400 to rebuild my transmission. They told me were already ordered as we spoke several times prior to making the appointment. Told me car would be ready in a week. A week passed. I called to get an update. The told another week as they had other cars to work on. I asked a price reduction due to the completion date change. He threaten me that i would take another month for my tone. I explained that was bad customer service he said he is the owner and it wasn't. I'm only intown for the holidays and they only take cash. I am being extremely generous with the 2nd star, but that is because the staff was friendly and they didn't charge to "look at" my vehicle. I went to them because my check engine light was on and my drive light was blinking, the code was (P0843) which is for a bad transmission fluid pressure switch that I'd recently had replaced by a mechanic, but the light wouldn't stay off and the same code kept popping up. The car wouldn't shift past 3rd gear and all of my research pointed to a transmission fluid pressure switch or a bad wire, but the mechanic wasn't comfortable doing anything beyond replacing the switch, so he recommended that I go to a transmission shop. I did a Google search for shops near me and this one came up with a decent score (4.7/5), so I dropped my car off. The staff was very friendly and they even gave me a ride to work. I dropped the car off at 8:00 a.m. and they said that they should have an answer by lunchtime. At 2:00 pm. I decided to give them a call because I hadn't heard from them. They said that my vehicle was just going on the lift and they should have an answer within 30 minutes. I called back at 3:00 and was told that all of my switches and wires looked fine which indicated that the problem was internal. They told me that they would have to remove my transmission and open in up to pinpoint the problem which would run me $550 (that's not even fixing anything). I told them that I was not prepared to agree to that. This didn't make any sense to me since the code clearly stated that it was a problem with a switch and my vehicle is a 2009 with 73,000 miles on it. So I decided to take it to a Honda dealer for a second opinion. I decided to not even mention what I was told at Budget just to see if I would get a different answer. Maybe 15 - 20 minutes after I brought my car in, the techs brought me to the back to show me what they found. The mechanic replaced the wrong switch and it was clearly leaking transmission fluid. They showed me the bad switch and showed me where the new one was leaking. The problem was so evident that I have a hard time believing that Budget actually looked at the vehicle......that, or they did the stereotypical "here comes a female, let's see how we can screw her and take as much money as possible." So while I paid the overly inflated prices of the dealership's service department, at least they gave me an honest answer and my vehicle is driving beautifully again! read more

I was told I only had to pay for the tow.. When I called in to pay for the tow, Now they want me to pay $550 for storage when they took so long. They are holding my vehicle hostage. Do not work with them. They are not trustworthy.. I have already filed complaints with the State of CT and will be filing a police report.. Avoid at all costs!!!!!!! This place is absolutely horrible went in to get some work the rate was significantly higher than what they originally quoted and double what my normal mechanic charges. Even worse is me and the front desk staff member got into an argument about because I told him the prices were to high. On both occasions when we spoke he hung up in my face. Excellent and honest service. Took my vehicle in the day after Christmas for a leaking transfer case. They were able to remove, fix and reinstall in less than two days in time for weekend travel. The dealer was trying to schedule me a week out just for diagnostics. Customer service was great, I asked them to check for other service needed while they were working on the vehicle and they were straight that minimal additional items were needed due to mileage and inspection. Only charged me for brake parts, not labor, since the front end was already apart for transfer case repair! Very happy with the experience! read more

Bad service, slow, and never returned calls. New motor (47K miles supposedly) was put on my car and the water pump was bad and they would not honor it in the warranty. They will not give you any receipt with proof of mileage on the new motor wherever they got it from. read more

- Transmission: $2,827.55 - Computer: $991.16 - Rental: $98.29 - Cruise control (fixed at dealership): $205.91 - Total: $4122.91 - I dropped my car off at Budget Transmission on Jan 22, 2010 - Didn't hear from them, so I called on Wednesday, Jan 27, 2010; car had not yet been diagnosed; work had not yet begun; their reason for not starting the diagnosis was "you didn't tell us to" - After diagnosing it, they informed me I would need a new transmission; I picked up car on Wednesday, February 3 (cost: $2,827.55) - A day later the transmission was already starting to slip; took the car back to Budget Transmission - I was informed it needed a new computer (cost: $991.16) - I picked up car on 2/7/2010 - Budget Transmission had my car for a total of 17 days which was a major inconvenience and much longer than they told me it was going to take - When I picked up my car my cruise control had stopped working because they hooked it back up incorrectly; it later cost me $205.91 to get this repaired at the dealership - Sammy, the owner, drove me to the train station on Thursday, February 4. In the car Sammy told me "you smell good" and "the reason your car's not working is because you gave it a heart attack" - Throughout this time, I constantly had to follow up with Budget Transmission; they rarely called me with updates - On my drive down to LGA on Thursday, September 23, 2010, the transmission started slipping again, so I took it back to Budget Transmission on Friday, September 24, 2010 - On Saturday, I called them for the update and they told me the transmission would need to be replaced again but it would be ready by Tuesday, September 28 - When I called them on Tuesday, they told me they had been sent the wrong part (a back cover that was too small) but that the car would be ready on Wednesday - When I called them at the end of the day on Wednesday, they still hadn't finished the work and they told me they would definitely have it ready by Thursday - When I called them Thursday morning, they told me they would have it ready by the end of the day so I told them to drop off the car at my office when it was done and to call me when they were on the way. They never called and I was left stranded at the office at 8 PM without a car. - When I called them on Friday morning, they said they were prioritizing getting it done that morning; the car was finally dropped off at 5 PM on Friday, October 1, 2010 - They did not give me a receipt; despite numerous (4-5) requests, I still have not received a receipt for this job - I had to rent a car for Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26 which cost $98.29 - Between 9/24/10 and 10/5/10, I called them 15 times; they called me 3 times - At midday on Saturday, October 1, 2010 less than 24 hours after getting the car back, the check engine light went on - On Monday morning, I took it to the A1 Toyota dealership. - It was going to cost a lot of money to get the car fixed at the dealership, so despite the fact that the service had been so terrible, I took it back to Budget Transmission because the transmission was still under warranty - Budget Transmission fixed the transmission and returned my car to me on October 12, 2010. As of today, it is still working but my overall experience with them was terrible. I strongly considered taking them to court. read more

This place did not diagnose my truck... This place did not diagnose my truck correctly even after I told him what to check. He assured me that he checked the intermediate shaft and that my transmission and torque converter needed to be rebuilt. After 13 days they finally got the rebuilt transmission in and guess what, that wasn't the problem it was the shaft that I had originally told him to check. So instead of being a legitimate company and saying they made a mistake they said that both were bad ,like I'm an idiot, well I am for bringing it here. A $1000 job turned into $2700 job. They had my truck for 16 days!!! They also put a large scratch in my driver's side door. The response I recieved when I made them aware of this was they are not responsible for damages that happen while the vehicle is in their possession. So I'm guessing that means they can total your car and they aren't responsible. My mistake is not taking it to the dealer where at least they back their mistakes up.
