I have a 2007 Ford Freestar that had stopped shifting properly so I brought it to RPM…read moretransmissions.mike,the owner was friendly and told me that the car needed a transmission rebuild and that it would cost $2200 dollars.Four days later I received the car back and all was fine.The car worked well for about a month and then suddenly stopped moving.I had the car towed(at mt exspense back to RPM transmission.It sat there for two weeks and I was told that it was an engine computer and not the transmission.Four hundred dollars and a new computer later the car was no better.Another two weeks and I get a call saying that they couldn't find the issue with the transmission.Now even though I have a full warranty they install a used transmission and want to charge an additional nine hundred dollars.Then they bargained it down to two hundred so that they could pay their mechanic that came in on the weekend to do the work.Then Mike(the owner)proceeded to scream and yell at me for almost ten minutes.When I finally got in the van to drive it away there was a heavy smell of marijuania.They must have smoked in the van while they were test driving it.I am(was) a repeat customer and will never reccommend any one to RPM.

I first learned of McCrearys Automotive from my 80 something year old inlaws. They were driving…read moredown route 8 in Seymour when they experienced an issue with their Toyota Highlander revving high and coasting to a stop. They immediately headed to their long time garage Seymour Auto only to learn that Seymour Auto no longer worked on cars. This was very upsetting to them because they don't like change. However the folks at Seymour Auto suggested they go to McCrearys Automotive which is their neighbor. They took that advice. Bill McCreary took them right in. After a bit of a discussion Bill suggest they leave the car with him. He also kindly offered to drive them home. They took him up on his offer. The next day Bill spent time inspecting and driving the car. He came to the conclusion that they had simply knocked the car out of drive causing the engine to rev high. He charged them a nominal fee for his time. This left them as well as me with a favorable opinion. He was honest and kind. Then back in October I needed help. My Nissan 2015 Murano developed a serious issue while I was leaving my job in the Seymour Industrial Park. McCrearys was the nearest garage and even though it was 6pm I decided to stop thinking I would just leave my car and deal with it the next day. Well as luck would have it Bill was working late and took a look at my car. Spent a solid hour discussing my issue. The next day he calmly suggested I stay calm and take a cautious approach to my problem which was also the least expensive approach. I agreed. While my vehicle there he also performed the 60,000 mile maintenance as well as brakes and an oil change. His quotes and timing were exactly as promised. No bad surprises, quite the opposite actually. You see last mother's day someone backed into my Murano and the front end plastic got all whacked out of place. Bill managed to get it all back in place like nothing ever happened. The charge for that was $0!!!. I should add Bill also worked with my schedule. I stopped at the shop on my way to work and he then drove me to work. When the car was done he came and got me. All in all I have been very impressed from the beginning and I remain that way to this day. It's great to find a garage and mechanics that are skilled and honest. McCrearys has a customer for life with my family. I recommend them to my family, friends and coworkers.

Middlesex Auto and their partner shop, Tony's Auto Services, were life savers on a recent cross…read morecountry trip. After driving 12 hours the previous day, I knew I needed my SUV looked at before another 12 hour day. I arrived just after 7AM, and Javi (at Tony's) was gracious enough to take a look even though their schedule was packed for that day. He determined my wheel barrings needed to be replaced, and brought me directly into the shop/under my vehicle to talk through a few issues and things I should be watching out for (knowing full well any future repairs wouldn't go to them as I'm obviously from far out of state). When the owner came in, he talked me through my options and squeezed me into his second shop to actually get the work done. He ordered the parts and offered to drive me to his other location (which was unneeded but appreciated), and they were expecting me and immediately got to work on my vehicle. The receptionist quoted me 3 hours and offered to drive me up town to kill time along their main street. I again declined but spent some time wandering up there, got a great breakfast, etc. After 2 hours she called and said she'd put an additional mechanic on my vehicle to save time and that it was ready. They even knocked off the additional cost of labor even though it still took the same (or more) man hours to actually complete it! They made further recommendations like replacing my tires (again, knowing they wouldn't benefit from it), and were very honest about what could and could not wait. Middlesex and Tony's fully took care of me, working me into their already too-full schedule, got me on the road, and I was able to finish my trip to see my family. Their honesty, workmanship, and desire to truly help people was very apparent, and I would recommend them all day long.

I didn't realize until after the part was in the vehicle that I was essentially purchasing the premium OEM (Magna Flow brand) version of the potential catalytic converters I could have installed, I asked them for the part number and after visiting the website of the manufacturer, realized they applied a significant upcharge. And then there are the special touches... when we had to drop our car off for repair before taking an emergency trip out of town, Keith returned the car to our home before we returned and worried about payment later. If he learns of a recall, he informs us so that we don't end up paying him for service a dealer should do.
