And to our surprise he not only fixed the water issue's but also re-programed and got the rear camera to work. Wow I came here to give a review for my bad experience and come to find so many others were dealing with exactly the same problem as me. These people have zero experience. This is a beginners mechanic stop they barely know the basics. They caused a leak in my car whold not following instructions and mishandling my oil pan plug and no one wanted to take responsi . It's like they deal with it in a local level and actually refused to my face when I requested to speak to someone higher up in the Valvoline chain they just completely blatantly deny you and immediately close your case without even hearing you out. The regional manager, Dominic Torlish did not even allow me to plead my case to him I never spoke with the man he only heard the local managers side of the story who is responsible for causing the leak. This is very much conflict of interest because if it's dealt with at a local level and you cannot plead your case to anyone higher up in the Valvoline chain why would local managers admit they are at fault if they never have to answer to anyone higher up. Do yourself a favor go to a real mechanic these people are snakes. Fire Dominic Torlish!

Was in CT for a 5-day visit. I contacted ACE during my trip on a Saturday morning, where business…read morehours were until 1pm. We were referred by friends who said ACE would take good care and resolve the issues with the truck. ACE owner (?) responded to say he was away on Saturday but could look at my truck Monday. We drove out to the shop that weekend to be sure we knew where it was. A small shop but plenty bays and a few cars on the lot. Looks like they may be a reseller for motorcycles or sell used cars/motorcycles also? The problem reported was that my truck would stutter between 40-50mph, then 60-70mph only on an incline. As much as this was a pain in the neck issue with driving al the backroads at those lower speeds, I felt that waiting a couple more days was ok. On Monday AM, I called ACE and asked what time to come in to have the truck looked at. Making a long story short, the owner said he could not take time to look at my truck as he was already busy. I asked then why he said he could help. He just repeated to say he could not take time to help. All he needed to do was take a road test of the truck and see if it was a simple issue, that's all we asked him to do. He continued to say no and if we were his regular customer, he would help. It's unfortunate that ACE could not at least assess what could be. Or, if he could not assist and knew it Saturday, then just say that Saturday. I wasted time waiting and could have gone elsewhere. If ACE had looked at the truck, he would have found out that the number 6 coil needed replacing. Could have made some money and kept a positive review with the business.

Since this was the first time he had seen my car, he checked out the rest of the engine and made some recommendations for me. Since I was due for an oil change, he did that too. As a woman, I hate going to the repair shop because I always feel I am getting taken advantage of...not with ACE.. I never felt like he was talking down to me or trying to sell me something i didnt need. I'll be returning here for all my repairs going forward... you should too!

I also have an oil life indicator to tell me how things are going inside the engine, so I opted for high quality oil instead of whatever comes with oil changes at your usual in-and-out oil change service at any location. I purchased Mobil 1 full synthetic oil and filter, and asked if they would do it. They did, and it made my oil change a little bit cheaper. However, I was a little uneasy thinking that there's no way for me to know for sure that such oil and filter actually did make it into my car unless I did my own work. Someone in the shop could just take it for themself. But fast forward to last night, I was doing my own oil change for the first time, and I beheld a Mobil 1 oil filter. I was very happy to see that they did the right thing and followed through even when there was no one watching over them to check their work. I'm trying out Royal Purple in this rotation to see how performance is in comparison, but thank you to the honest people at this shop for being trustworthy.

When we got there, they casually mentioned the repairman called out. Considering our brakes were at 2% functionality, that was a long and honestly dangerous drive that could have been avoided with a 30-second phone call. No where in the fine print states that there would be any additional charges with the exception being if they needed to add additional oil. This is a bait and switch scam. The worker blamed Groupon. I don't think that's the case, I've used Groupon several times for oil changes in the past and never ran into this issue. I paid for the Groupon on the app and that was it. This (and probably all) Monro is basically using Groupon as advertisement to lure people in with a deal and change it after they've already paid most of it. $20+ for an "environmental fees" for an oil change. C'mon. When do you get charged that anywhere else?

They spent over a week diagnosing it, replaced a sensor that wasn't needed and then told me there was probably rodent damage behind the dashboard and that I would need to go to the dealer. They were going to charge me several hours of labor, but after arguing with the manager, he conceded and didn't charge me. I immediately took the car to another garage less than a mile away, and they diagnosed the problem in less than an hour. They ordered the parts needed and gave me a loaner car for the weekend since it was before the 4th of July holiday. I got the car back on July 6th, and the AC works great. Modern Tire was not a good choice to do AC work.
