Bud is a stand up guy and have a strong feeling that my last experience was not the Norm at Bud's Tire & Wheel. Great customer service! It was 6:15 on a Friday evening and we needed a patch as our tire had a nail that was leaking air. When I walked in, they clearly were closing (sign says 5:30pm) and all the workers were ready to go. But Sam was incredibly kind and offered to check out the tire as he saw my worried face (we had already been turned down by a major chain store who had NO problem telling us they couldn't do it although they were still open for another 5 minutes). A mechanic came out, fixed the tire, and we were out of there in 10 minutes. They didn't have to go out of their way to help us out, but they did. And because of their wonderful customer service, I will be coming back for any future tire problems instead of the major competition. Thank you!! read more

This review is for the Moreno Valley store. I've been going to this place for at least 10 years. Ralph has always taken care of my tires,oil changes and basic maintenance. He's always been fair and honest and I recommend them any time I can. This time was no different. I had a blow out on one of my tires and called Ralph Monday afternoon he ordered the tire and I had it put on the next day. I was only there about 30 to 40 minutes and was back on the road. Wow I am shocked to see all the positive reviews for this shop. I have had horrible experiences there along with a couple of my family members that have gotten work done there. I took my car there to get the brakes done a couple of months ago. They told me I needed rotors so I got that done as well. My brakes have been squeaking ever since. I have taken my car back multiple times to try and have the squeaking resolved, but they tell me there is nothing wrong every time. Then instead of fixing brakes they tell me I need several other expensive things fixed which I have never had a problem with until my struts started going out about a week after I took my car in to get the brakes fixed. This seemed a little bit sketchy to me. My mom informed me that she had the same problem with this shop. She got work done there, and her car has ridden rough ever since. She took her car back multiple times to have them fix the problem that they had caused in the first place, but they only tell her that her car is fine and she just needs to pay them more money to get other stuff fixed. It's weird that I am the only customer who has had bad experiences there. You're welcome to take your car there if you want, but I know for sure I will never be back there. I have been taking my car here for about five years. I've worked with Don, Oscar, Joe, and Bud himself. I've always received professional, courteous service. They explain everything clearly and always give women credit for knowing or being able to understand about cars. They're honest about the prices and if there is anything extra that has to be done they consult with you first before going ahead. I most likely wont be back here after today. I came here because it's very close to where i live. I came on a Saturday for an oil change which i thought was reasonably priced. I asked Lester the guy who was assisting me after the counter if the tire rotation was included in the tune up. He answered in a very "duh" kind of way as if i should know that the rotation is included. Different places do different things, for example, valvoline doesn't do a tire rotation in the tune up. I told him that and he just kind of laughed and said, " oh here it's included, sorry, it's saturday morning." I was like, whatever. They did the oil change, later he cones back to me saying i needed a new air filter and they couldnt do the rotation or alignment check because the mechanic said he recommended new tires. Which i agreed to because they were looking a bit worn. He gave me two estimates for work on two new tires. I went with one that said $120. He said he didnt have them in stock but if i wait around they can get them soon. I said i couldn't because i had to be at work so i asked for a morning appointment. He said "we open at 7:30 on monday. I said ok i can maje that. He was pushing for me to get the new airfilter and reminded me twice that they install it for free. Now, i am a woman, and its not the first time mechanics have ripped me off, you live, you learn, but i know basic things about cars. Like i can get a new one for 20 bucks or less at o'reileys or autozone and "install" it myself. Just pop it into place and secure it. So i didn't get it. I told him my name and address were wrong on the paper, should he want to correct it. He fixed it or so i thought, 5 minutes after i left i looked at the sticker on my windsheild to get an idea when my next tune up should be, it says, your next service is due ... It had that days date and mileage. Lester called me in that monent to ask ne about my last name spelling again, which continued to be wrong. I spelled it out for him and asked him when my next service was and told him what it said on my sticker, he said, " oh its basically 5 or 6 thousand miles after todays date. A lot of room between 5 and 6 thousand miles, i thought, what kind of math is that? I let it go, i said ok then, thanks, bye. Monday morning at 7:30 sharp i was there. I believe the manager was there who looked me up in their system and told me that my tires werent there. I told him Lester ordered them on Saturday and asked me to stay but i couldn't so he gave me the 7:30 appointment. He said he didnt know why lester told me that because the truck doesnt deliver on saturday. And the truck will come at 8:30. I figured oh well one more hour, he was polite so i would just run some morning errands meanwhile. I came back lester was there. I directed myself to the manager and he told me in front of lester that the truck hadn't arrived yet. Lester then handed me some papers that he wanted me to sign. I adked him what for? He said so we can start working on your car. I was like, sir, my tires arent here yet. The manager had another person find out the trucks location and said it would get thete at 9. It didn't come until 9:20. I missed an important appointment i had at 9 and had worked through the night before. I was tired. To boot, when he called me to sign my papers because it was done it was 3 minutes to ten. I saw the amount which was about $200, i said thats not the little number he showed ne the other day, which was $120, he was clearly annoyed with me for whatever reason and said "that's not the final number" The result was $177. I asked him if he can give me a discount for all the inconveniences , again he looked at me annoyed and in an annoyed voice told me, "well thats as far as i can bring it down." I reminded him that my car didnt get worked on until 2 hours after my appointment. Again annoyed he said " thats just how things happened, that the tires were ordered and they didnt get there until then." I mean, the audacity, not taking responsibility for anything he told me. He was clearly annoyed and i felt disrespected and not taken care of at all. I mean is this place usually this unorganized and unfriendly where they make the customer feel like an annoying bad guy? I cant say anything about the other employees or mechanics. Im sure there are good people who work there with good people skills and know how to do their job, as i had read some reviews on this place before deciding to post mine. Which in a way i didn't want to because i could have just decided not to come back ever and let that be it. However the ill treatment by this person who made me feel uncomfortable as if i had to watch myself not to get on his nerves, when i asked him for help was a bit more than i can deal with after a morning like that. I dont wish anything bad upon this person, but perhaps customer service and people skills might improve in the future. I will take my business elsewhere for these needs in the future. read more

Very Knowledgeable and a friendly environment. I plan on taking my wheels and tires to have them installed and filled with Nitrogen at their Moreno Valley shop. The only downside that I have to mention is, that they could not get four of the tires that I wanted, only the fronts i.e. 2 not 4 tires, which I needed. When the representative called me to tell me that 2 and not 4 I told him that I would have to purchase a complete set elsewhere, and he seemed pretty sad about that fact. Not mad, but disappointed. The phrase "butt-hurt" expresses it exactly. Which to me was a surprise because 2 tires is not 4 tires. And it makes no sense to buy 2 from this store and 2 from another just so I can say, "Yah Buds!" Also the price for Nitrogen rose when I said that from $6.00 to $7.00, so that's my only downside. read more

I took my car in to Buds after getting a quote from Toyota for a power steering and break fluid flush. Toyota was going to charge me $240 and Buds saved me about $80 for the same thing. the customer service is top notch. And I was out of there in an hour. God only knows how long it would have taken at Toyota. they also showed me a few other things that needed attention and I will be going back there for the repairs. I believe that these guys are honest. i think I found a new doctor for my car here at Buds. read more

I live near Bud's Tire & Wheel and have often thought it looked like a first class business. Well looks can be deceiving. About six months ago after my truck failed a smog check at another business due to "low compression on one cylinder & check engine light on the dash" I took it to Bud's for evaluation. $400 and many hours of expensive detective work later, including new plug wires, they finally said I need an engine overhaul due to the one cylinder having low compression and "This will cost you about $1200 more". The check engine light stayed on. After thinking it over I called an out of state friend who does smog related work for a living; he reviewed the compression numbers and said "B.S.! Those numbers are normal for that engine and it will probably pass the test if you take it back for a smog check after driving it until the light goes out." Which is exactly what happened and the check engine light has not come on in the last six months. End of my business dealings with Bud's. read more
