Been going to Valvoline on Arlington for a couple of years now. I went last weekend for a oil change. They checked my air & cabin filters and said they both needed to be changed. When I told them I had both with me because I recently had cancer surgery they refused to put them in because I didn't buy their's at 3x the cost. They told me they had to put the dirty ones back in. Total Bullshit!!! I WILL NEVER COME BACK!! 100$ for a oil change and you won't put my clean filter in . It would have taken the same amount of time. You guy's suck!!! read more

While I was here for an oil change, they started making all kinds of recommendations/repairs. One thing they said was the I had a brake or turn light out in the back. I told them that I had the lights at home and would take care of it when I got home. As soon as I got home, I had my son come out and test all the lights with me. Horribly managed. Took me almost 2 hrs to get through the line for a 15 min oil change as advertised. Many employees move with no purpose. If you are offering other services maybe have a couple dedicated "oil change" only lanes so customers that are short on time dont get stuck behind numerous cars doing other services that take well over 30 mins. I got an oil change, a new air filter, and my headlight replaced. I went here because I was short on time, but the services they said they did, they didn't even do! So how can I trust that they actually did the rest of the work? Not to mention it's $125 for an oil change vs $70 at my normal place. I went in for the oil changed and asked them if they check all the fluids and top off as needed. They said they do, but if it needs coolant they charge to top that off. I told them my windshield wiper fluid light is on and they said they would take a look and top it off. I triple checked that they did that and my invoice said they added fluid, but when I pulled away, the light kicked back on. I checked when I got home and it was bone dry. I was able to add a GALLON to it. In addition, they said that they checked the coolant levels and it was good, but as I was checking everything, it was at the low fill line. Good thing I checked so I could have had real issues with my car! Save yourself time and lots of money by taking it somewhere that actually does what they say they are doing. read more

Have used this place many times before and this last visit will be the last. Came in for an oil change and left with now a flat tire on the side of the road.. but that's not all. It started with an Oil change, we'll check fluids and filters.. blah blah. Said whatever is needed as this is a company car. They do a pre-check to see if the service light is on or any warning lights which I had non. They do filters and tire rotation, then she asks me about the battery.. I said no new battery as this is under warranty. Oil change gets started and then I get.. could you start the vehicle. I start it and now an oil level low is on mind you this is a new SUV. Worker who I was told "getting certified" says if he can reset the warning. I said it is saying low oil level, reset what? Another guy comes and says it needs to be reset, What??? The same guy stands in front of my truck and shows me a smeared dip stick that there is oil and tells me it might be the oil sensor. I said not gonna happen and stop playing games. Then the girl says these types of cars need to be on for like 2 minutes and the warning will go away I called our fleet department and filed a statement while I was there regarding the place to cover my self. Then asked to notate the invoice about the oil level light coming on after the oil change I get the invoice and she notates that the light was on "upon arrival". I said this needs to be rewritten cause it wasn't on and you pre-checked. This kid tells me that means "as I'm leaving the light came on" ‍ I can't make this up. She now gives me a blank new invoice that has no billing to it that says the light was on. Mysteriously, the light is no longer on "mind you, was told a bad sensor from certified tech " . I leave and heading to an appointment, my tire pressure light comes on. Today, next day I have a flat tire. Stay away from these clowns , they have become a scam shop. Sad cause now they will be removed from fleet opportunities. If you do ignore this, keep an eye on them and be aware, for all I know they may have never even done the oil change. read more

This location did my last oil change and during my current oil change (at Jiffy Lube) I was told Valvoline stripped the oil pan threads so oil was and has been leaking out and now it is leaking out at a high rate and I need to pay a mechanic to replace the oil pan. If your only job is to install an oil filter you'd think you'd check if it was tight or not. Look, these drive-thru places are convenient that's it. They aren't cheap and they are not skilled.. they don't care about whether a bolt is tight or loose it could cost you an engine or an engine and driveway! They still wouldn't care. And this might be a generational thing and less about this company as a whole but either way it should be taken very serious by the guy down in the pit. So I did a really dumb thing. I accidentally poured a little bit of antifreeze into my oil. I picked up the wrong bottle. Super dumb! Anyways, I went to Valvoline for an immediate oil change. I know I shouldn't have driven it. So, I pull up to the station and I first meet Carlos. He was very nice, professional and explained everything really well. I also spoke to Cody and James. They were all very efficient, polite and professional. Nobody made me feel dumb for such a really really bad mistake on my old car. Everything was explained to me and it was all done quickly. I also got a great coupon to help with the price. It was very reasonable, Valvoline is very lucky to have Carlos, Cody and James as employees. I highly recommend this business. My favorite oil change facility, but one star off for not filling the oil to the full line. When I pointed this out to the technician, he argued that anywhere between full and one quart low is OK. The one thing that many people fear when they get their car engine serviced is that: Did the technicians REALLY change the old fluids and replace the fluids with new fluids? This fear became reality to us. If the above star could be removed, we would remove it. I do not reccommend Valvoline Instant Oil Change. My wife, Laura, had the transmission fluid changed and engine oil changed in her vehicle on Wednesday, 6/16/21. From the looks of the oil on the dip stick pictured below from Riverside after an oil change, our oil was never changed. On top of that, dirty oil from our vehicle leaked in our garage. (We insisted that someone from Valvoline come to our home and clean the oil spill in our garage. They did. [This is an admission of guilt.]) We were sent to the Upland location to have new, clean oil put into our engine and to assure that there will be no leaks. This was done for us because the oil was not changed at the Riverside facility. [Another admission of guilt.] Our concern for whether the transmission fluid was changed or not prompted us to go to a different facility to get it checked. Sure enough, it was not. It was explained to us that clean transmission fluid is redish in color. What was found in our transmission fluid tank was a dirty brownish color. The technician used a paper towel to get a sample of the color inside our transmission fluid tank. See pictures below to see the dirty transmission fluid in our tank and what clean transmission fluid looks like. We called the District manager at Valvoline. We told him that we wanted the transmission fluid changed at their cost the way they did for the oil change, at their cost. He did not agree to do this for us. He offered a refund ($224.39) for the bill at the Riverside facility and a coupon for a free oil change. [Another admission of guilt.] We are disappointed with the quality and honesty of work that we received. We were not compensated for all the hours of time invested in correcting the false engine service done for us. We accepted the refund, but we will not be using the free oil change coupon. If you choose to go to Valvoline, check the oil dip stick before you leave to make sure that the oil on the dip stick is clear. read more
