The menu has 2 sections for steaks -- a section that has USDA steaks -- they are more expensive; and a section that has steaks without the USDA prefix. They are less expensive. I had a 12-oz ribeye in the non-USDA section. It was something like $42. I asked for blue rare -- and they knew what that was and cooked it that way -- which was great. The steak was a little fatty but overall was ok to pretty good. I am thinking the USDA steaks would be better. Ambiance is great; waiters and service was great. You don't get sides with your order, but the appetizers and the 12-oz steak was plenty to fill one up. Overall I'd rate it ok to pretty good. read more

Went with five friends - two of them highly recommended this place. The service was friendly. I ordered the 10 ounce boneless strip loin because I didn't want a huge meal - ordered medium rare. I'll let the picture speak for itself. The steak was definitely rare, not medium rare - and pretty raw in places. Over and above that it was at least 50% fat and grizzle. You can see the piece on the far right which I left in the picture to show how underdone the steak was. I alerted the server to the issue and said they really need to check a quality control. They promised me they would do something about it but when the bill came, we didn't even get a discount. I will say that of the other five meals only one had any issues and that was another cut with a lot of fat, but not nearly to the extent that I did. Moreover, I generally rate a restaurant based on the fact of whether they can make something better than I can make myself and even if the cut had been better, I make better season stakes myself all the time... So at $44 for a pile of fat in an undercooked steak, I think I deserve better. read more

Walked In on a Wednesday night and happened to be the first guest of the evening. Staff was kind and greeted us with a nice table. After our order of apps, the food did not take long to arrive. Our mains were simple but very delicious! Our meal was super satisfying and dessert was simple and delicious.Throughout the rest of our evening the dining room was finally getting filled right when we ended our meal. The Angus short rib was juicy and well-prepared, but the "skirt steak" was definitely not a skirt steak cut. It was dry and underseasoned, which was disappointing. Even the chimichurri was a bland! :/ Flan con Crema, Dulce de Leche o Mixto - The flan itself was decent, but it lacked the creamy, silky texture. The service was good. I'm really not sure how I've missed out on Buenos Aires for so many years, but this Argentine spot is a great choice if you're in the mood for meat. The restaurant is cozy and covered in all kinds of memorabilia (mostly Messi and other futbol flags/jerseys/more), but we sat outside on a nice night (lovely outdoor shed thingy), and after chatting with our accommodating server, we decided to split a few items between the four of us. We rolled with some empanadas to start (jamon y queso the runaway winner), the shrimp and garlic sauce (excellent for dipping bread), and the Parrillada de Carne mixed grill for three. This is why you're here. It was three different steaks (not that mixed a grill), ribeye, strip, and picanha. 30 oz of meat, all cooked beautifully. The salad (criolla) that comes with it is fine. The accompanying fries are fine. But the meat is grassfed, deliciously tender and juicy beef imported from Argentina. We walked in with no reservations around 630 on Saturday and were greeted and seated promptly. No fuss! This was awesome because within a 30 minutes, every table was absolutely packed. Service was absolutely top-notch, and not just attentive but over the top friendly. They treated us like they had known us for years! It came hot thick and juicy, perfectly medium rare just liked I ordered. Juices dripping down as I picked it up with my steak knife and sterling silver fork. Hands down the BEST skirt steak I have had in my entire life, and I would speculate it was more than 16oz. It was a BEHEMOTH. I'm doing a terrible job describing it, but it was ineffable. I didn't know I wanted to belong to an Argentinian family until I hosted a Wine Wednesday event here (the theme was Argentina, ho ho!) and was welcomed like the prodigal daughter the moment I arrived. From there, it was old-school Noo Yawk--excuse me, Nuevo Yawk--hospitality from the friendliest restaurant staff this side of the hemisphere. I've been to Buenos Aires the city. It's nice, but it didn't blow me away in any respect. However, I know a good empanada when I have one, and I had probably the best empanadas in the city when I was there. The empanadas at Buenos Aires the restaurant? As good. Get the Carne Picante, Jamon y Queso and Espinaca, and remember to cry out my name when you foodgasm. Want fiber? The Ensalada de la Casa won't disappoint. It's also huge. Feeds 6. Want meat? The U.S.D.A Prime Entraña 10oz is everything you want gaucho skirt steak to be. Drown it in the house chimichurri sauce (available in the middle of your table!), and you'll be crying for Argentina too. Sides of Pure de Papa (mashed taters), Papas Fritas (frenchy fries) and Espinacas Saltadas (garlicky spinach) make excellent complements. The only disappointment was my Linguini con Langostinos Argentinos en Salsa de Tomate. I really need to remember that Langostino in Spanish doesn't mean English langoustine. That was my first disappointment. Second was that the creatures were vastly overcooked and therefore too tough. The pink sauce was fine, but the linguine noodles were store-bought and forgettable. I forgot about that blip, though, because we got fantastic bottles of Argentinian vino goodness for $32-38/bottle. Start with a bottle of Torrontes, the overlooked but vastly superior wine that's made from a native Argentinian grape (unlike the vastly overrated Malbec). The Colome Torrontes 2020 is a good starter. Next, try the Amalaya Rose 2021 if you're looking for pink chills. And red wine lovers will enjoy the Dark Amethyst Malbec 2019 (because sadly, the Malbec to appear somewhere). Dessert-wise, we had chocolate-covered alfajores, but those aren't made in-house, so while tasty, you can skip these if you want. We must have done something right while dining because they came by and offered us complimentary jars of dulce de leche to take home. Then a complimentary box of alfajores. Then--and I kid you not--any drink of our choice, as many rounds as we wanted. Sometime after the free limoncello, I think I died and went to wine, chocolate and carne heaven. Don't cry for me, Buenos Aires. The truth is, I never left you. Mostly because I missed the F train. read more
