Another terrific visit to an establishment that appreciates each and every customer and shows it from seating, to taking guest orders, to execution in the kitchen and finally delivery of the bill. I ordered a BMC Hendricks martini with a twist which was icy & superb. My meal consisted of 3 East & 3 West coast oysters with house sauces followed by the ribeye cap mid rare with mash, asparagus with bernaise and a Chianti to compliment the steak. The steak was cooked & seasoned perfectly & the asparagus were trimmed and had a nice snap to the bite the way I like em! Staff were personable & professional without exception. Wow!! Came in for Father's Day dinner. The service was EXCELLENT, food was spectacular! We ordered the extra place seafood tower, seafood was plentiful and fresh. Onto our duck lasagna and the A5 wagyu to share. Excellent. Dinner we ordered the NY strip steak, cowgirl rib, filet mignon and the whole branzino. All of them came out perfectly cooked, nice portions. Sides we had mushrooms, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Also delicious. Lovely steaks and wonderful staff. Our server Manny was very personable and attentive. The other staff checked on us often and everyone was very nice despite how busy it was on a Wednesday night. While it wasn't super quiet, you could still have a nice intimate conversation. Perfect for a date. Although lots of people had dinners with friends and business. New York strip was my favorite but the porterhouse was delicious. I definitely enjoyed the ricotta over the burrata. We made a reservation a few weeks in advance and got a great seat in the corner. When we got there we were seated right away. We ordered the tomahawk, duck lasagna, fries, chocolate chip cookie, and creamed spinach. Honestly it was way too much food for two people so we had to take home leftovers. If I were to go again, I'd definitely get the duck lasagna and the chocolate chip cookie. We happened to dine in during their Sunday supper service, and it was the perfect way to try a good variety of the menu at an affordable price point. My favorite bites were the broiled oyster, the filet with chimichurri, the whipped potatoes, and the passion fruit sorbet. The service was very attentive, and our water glasses were never empty. I have been to a few steak houses in NYC and WOW this one is my top one! The ambiance in here is dimly lit lighting and big tables so its a great spot for groups and families. We had a nice waiter who asked before taking our order if anyone had food allergies. I feel like every restaurant should do this. He was pretty attentive to our table until like the middle/ end of our dinner we had to ask for him. Before taking our order he also brings out a platter of all the different types of steaks they have that night. Its a bit gross looking but if you are a meat eater you may be used to it. I shared a steak with my Mom and we rarely finish a steak when we share it. Well this night we finished it because it was just that good! Some of my other family had the salmon which they said was great. We all shared sides like the whipped potatoes which were excellent, cream spinach tasted a bit too cheesy or some flavoring issue, The mac and cheese was pretty cheesy but we also finished that off because it was that good. Some one had the shrimp cocktail which they said was very good. Someone else had the oysters and everything we had, we pretty much finished because it was just that good!! For drinks we had prosecco, which again was pretty tasty, cosmos, manhattans, tequila and a vodka on the rocks were all had and all were great. For dessert I had a decaf cappuccino which was spot on! We were here for a birthday so a slice of cake was brought out that I heard it was very good and a warm cookie as well. NYC STEAKHOUSE TOUR (1st stop) . We came to great New York in search of the best steakhouse experience. This restaurant was our first stop. Based on the reviews online, we expected to be dinning at the best. - The atmosphere was warm but modern and spacious. The decor and lighting were outstanding. - The service was average. We were seated immediately but the server took a little while to get to our table. The server was very nice, but seemed overwhelmed and took the order with some errors. They brought a plate that we didn't ask for, initially said that we were not going to get charged for it, but later included it on the bill anyways. I did not complain since he was nice enough to bring a side dish and a dessert on the house. - Price: this place is in the expensive side. - Quality: Our waiter brought over a not too vast selection of meats to see for ourselves and make a decision. The explanation was so fast that we ended up ordering from the menu. Steak was cooked perfectly and it was tender... but it was not impressive. I asked for the Ribeye steak and it was not tough or chewy but not at the level of a high quality steakhouse. We had an array of appetizers (octopus, oysters, Salad, and Hamachi). If you are looking for a nice steak dinner, definitely go here!!! Our hotel concierge recommended it and it did not disappoint! The restaurant has great vibes with low lighting. We sat in a booth and it was so comfy and spacious. The waiters come around with meat to show you your steak options and they are very knowledgeable on the menu. There are a ton of different options- not just steak, and there is something for everyone. I got the salmon with asparagus and it was great, especially the sauce it came with! The greatest part for me was the service. I mentioned I was pregnant, and the server was so attentive on the things I may and may not be able to order. He made sure we were always taken care of. There were also other servers whose job was to fill your water and make sure the table was clean. My water was never less than halfway empty- for someone who drinks a ton of water at restaurants. For being a restaurant in NYC, I really wanted better vegetarian options since I was coming for a family member's birthday. We were sat 30 minutes after our reservation because the party before us was running behind, but the bar area was nice to hang around for a drink. I ordered a St. Germain Spritz, which was very good. I ordered the ricotta with toasted bread to start - which was incredible! Everyone at the table had great things to say about this appetizer, which came with pomegranate seeds, herbs, and honey. The toasted bread was smokey, too. I would definitely order this dish again. The reason for my rating is because of the vegetarian dish, which was mozzarella ravioli floating in a cream sauce with truffle on top. The dairy was completely overdone on this dish. The portion was good - decent for two meals - but I couldn't eat more than 4 raviolis before feeling like I would regret it later. The cream sauce was way too much, more like soup. It would have been better if it was maybe a spinach ravioli, or any other kind of ravioli, with the cream sauce in half the amount. Are you kidding me? The A3 Wagyu strip flown in from Japan was out of this world. You see a lot of A5 Wagyu in NYC but to be honest it's too fatty for my taste. I can't have more than a piece or two. A3 Wagyu is perfect for steak. Plenty of fat and flavor but not too overbearing. If the fattiness gets to be too much do a light dip into ponzu to cut the fat. Tomahawk was no slouch either. Rich, flavorful and was trimmed expertly so you didn't just have hunks of fat which can sometimes happen. I also like the presentation where they slice the meat and put it on top which made it easy to serve. Wait staff was efficient and friendly making good recommendations. The chef came out and greeted us which was also a nice touch. Inside is modern and the room is quiet so I can actually have a conversation. The food, service, and ambiance were great! I'm just taking one star off for the higher prices. Jumbo shrimp cocktail - The jumbo shrimp were fresh and plump, but it does only come with 4. Broiled oysters - These were unique and tasty! The herbed bread crumbs added nice flavor and texture. This was one of my favorite appetizers and I'd definitely recommend! Poached pear & butter lettuce salad - This was my other favorite appetizer! The ingredients all complimented each other so well, making for a flavorful but light and refreshing salad. Mac & cheese - Good but not super memorable. Duck lasagna - This was such a unique entree, with a good balance of duck, pasta, and cheesy sauce. The duck comes shredded and was mostly tender. I guess the way it was baked made some of the pasta and duck pieces on the crispier side, which added nice texture but wasn't my favorite. It's a big portion that serves up to 6 people. Came here on a Saturday for 5pm reservations with a party of 2. We were greeted and seated immediately. The ambiance was cozy and dimly lit. The service was excellent and our waters were kept filled (we drink a lot of water!). We ordered Brussels sprouts, 2 Bowery Wagyu Cheeseburgers and French fries. The Brussels sprouts were sweet and savory. They were crispy and cooked well. They were enjoyable however, I've had better ones that were more balanced at other steak houses. I ordered my burger medium and my husband medium rare. They were cooked perfectly. The burgers came on an Egg Wash Bun with Vermont Cheddar, Caramelized Onions and Aioli. We asked for the aioli on the side. The meat was super soft and melted in my mouth while eating it. It went very well with the softness of the bread and the other ingredients. I do think there was too much cheese which made it a bit salty. Next time I would ask for no cheese as the burger does not need it! The french fries were good and crispy but slightly too salty (they dried my lips out). The French fries do not come with the burger! Overall, it was a good experience and the burger was good but a bit pricey. Other places offer burgers for the same price, but they include french fries. read more

It is pricey, but worth every last penny for an optimum and personalized dining experience. We were very easily able to make last minute reservations for 6:45pm on a Saturday night. We lucked out but do encourage planning well in advance. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated even though we arrived a few moments early. Drink orders were taken and immediately brought to table while we perused the menu. Our server arrived with a board of meats, describing each cut and it's price. This visual really is a game changer to really get to know what it is you are ordering. For appetizers we got the jumbo shrimp cocktail and the house ricotta. Both were amazing. For entrees the dry aged Porterhouse (med rare), and the the 7 oz Grass fed Argentinian filet mignon (med rare) with chimmichuri, and hash brown and creamed spinach for the sides. Every single thing we ate was supreme quality, beautifully executed and absolutely beyond delicious. The chef himself came out to our table for our feedback. Excellent. The carrot cake for dessert also blew us away. Water glasses were never empty, drink refills came in a flash, and new linen napkins were given without even an ask. The ambiance is upscale yet inviting and casual with a certain decorum. No distracting t.v.s. The attention to detail was impressive and all of our needs were genuinely taken care of. We lost track of time and all other concerns outside the enjoyment of the meals and one another's company. This establishment is just as good as some of the most highly rated steakhouses in NYC. My friends and I came here to celebrate our wonderful friend graduating and becoming a doctor. We started off of drinks which I had a French 75. It was super crisp and refreshing. We got the special which was the Japanese Wagyu and we paired it with fingerling potatoes, brussels sprouts, roasted onions, and garlic, along with two sauces which one was white and one was brown. For appetizers, we decided to have the buffalo mozzarella ravioli in their amazing truffle sauce. That meal was so delicious and decadent I will be dreaming about it for a while. When we got our main star of the dish, the steak was cooked to perfection and the sides were absolutely delicious. We paired this meal with a wonderful red Bordeaux. The steak is seasoned so well and the sauce was perfection. I finished the entire thing so fast. My friends got the ribeye and I loved theirs as well! I went to this unique steakhouse with a large group of others months ago where we shared a lot of dishes as per usual. The staff was friendly but still very professional as expected for a steakhouse. We spent a lot but we left quite stuffed with a couple dishes definitely being the highlights and other dishes being probably not worth it but the portion sizes of just about everything was quite decent so even the dishes that maybe weren't as flavored well would still be worth it for a group. The lighting was mostly candlelight and I think the spot would work well for a date spot. They show you a platter with all the daily cuts which is a fun touch. They have fun names for their cocktails which are all $21. I went with the You Have Chosen Wisely with barrel-aged Woodinville rye, Method vermouth, and January amaro which is apparently known as an Embarcadero which is a variant of a Boulevardier. As per the ingredients, it is of course spirit forward with a mix of bitterness and sweetness and I found it very tasty. Most of the appetizers are shareable and in the mid $20s and most of them are pretty rich. My favorite of the group and possibly my favorite dish of the night which was the Kung Pao Duck Wings with toasted peanuts, cilantro, and yuzu ranch dressing for $26. The wings had plenty of meat and there was a bit of sweetness and spiciness to them. The peanuts added some crunch and maybe my only complaint was that there wasn't enough yuzu but the ranch still went well with them. The remaining appetizers were good but a level below the wings. The BMC Meatballs with creamy polenta, tomato pan gravy, and Parmigiano-Reggiano for $24 was the second best of the appetizers. This had two very large tender meatballs over said very rich polenta. I felt the polenta texture was a bit softer than I would expect. The Grilled Nueske's Bacon with cracked pepper, pickled red pearl onion, and moscatel vinegar for $26 was also tasty. The onion helped reduce the richness and the bacon had a touch of sweetness and it was quite rich of course. For main dishes, we of course had one of the steaks as one of our dishes. The 14 Oz Prime New York Strip with roasted shallots for $69 was a tender tasty piece of steak cut up into several slices. It was cooked properly medium rare and the texture was solid. I guess the only complaint I would make is that I think the shallots should be on the side and there should be more of them but overall it was still good. Our only other main dish was the Duck Lasagna with Caciocavallo and Parmigiana-Reggiano for $68. The price is that high as this is listed as a dish for 4 to 6 people and that is quite accurate. This was the richest dish of the night among every rich dish. The duck was shredded and I wish the pasta had a bit more texture as I prefer lasagna to have a bit of a crisp in some parts. The flavors were of course rich and tasty though it can become quite overwhelming and I would only really recommend this for a large group. It was tasty but a bit of a one note. We got two side dishes. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts & Saba for $16 was our easy favorite. They had a bit of sourness and sweetness to them and I presume they were roasted with balsamic or something. If you're looking for a little bit of a less rich side dish to go with your steak or other main course, I would recommend this heavily. The Hash Brown with sour cream & roasted onions for $16 was just okay. For a hash brown, it lacked the crispy textures I associate with them and it was a bit oily for my liking. The roasted onion was a nice touch but I wouldn't really recommend it much. Because we were gluttons, a couple of us split the BMC Cast Iron Chocolate Chip Cookie with vanilla gelato and caramel for $14. As per every other dish, the portion size was quite large. The cookie had a good crisp and the gelato was nice. It became perhaps a little bit too overly sweet with the caramel mixed with the chocolate but if it's shared, it's quite manageable and I thought it was pretty tasty. I think two others maybe split a slice of one of their cakes but I don't exactly remember. What I like about this restaurant is that it's not really pulling any punches. They're a modern steakhouse and most of the dishes look like they'll be rich from their description and they definitely are. The prices are a tad higher than most other steakhouses but the portions are larger and there's a couple nuances here compared to most other places. There are definitely better places if you're looking just for a fancy steak especially at these price points but if you want a steakhouse with a little bit more oomph, it's hard to go wrong here. The only negative from tonight, and I'm reaching, is that the tables are too close to each other. You are elbows length away from the table next to you to the point when someone gets up to go to the bathroom their body will absolutely hit your table and/or your food. I love my steak and I love my NY steakhouses. I heard a lot of reviews for Bowery Meat Company and figured that it must be similar to other steakhouses in the city. Boy was I wrong... We ordered the Japanese Wagyu cut on their menu (approximately $400) and instantly regretted it. It did not have the marbling one would expect with Wagyu and it definitely did not taste as good as the bone-in ribeye. If you were to ask me what my biggest mistake at a steakhouse was... my answer would involve picking the Japenese Wagyu cut. I do want to mention that the service was phenomenal and that this review is 3 stars because of the overly expensive and underwhelming Japanese Wagyu cut. read more
