The convention center is really in need of an overhaul. Its is great that we have this facility to help attract convention business, but when you first try to enter the building, you deal with many of the doors being locked and when you finally find the right door, the next thing you see is the small wooden shack-like ticket booth. Then later on you are faced with the outdated concession areas. This does not look like a place where I want hang out in any longer than is absolutely necessary. I know Buffalo can do a lot better and im looking forward to seeing it happen. read more

A car show? Sure. But what about a BUS show and conference? The NY Public Transit Association held their 2024 conference here, and I was lucky to attend. The main hall had new buses of various types including battery electric, even the latest hydrogen electric. The ground floor held large meetings in the main conference room and there were dozens of break-out sessions in rooms surrounding the conference room. The food was excellent, and the staff made sure the place was spotless. There was no problem parking because, of course, I took the bus to the convention. Visited the convention center to attend the Buffalo Comic Con. Overall it was a great time. The concession stand had good pizza and fries and they have a number of pop choices. It was decently clean for the amount of people that were there today and it was busy. As always I had a great time walking around to see the vendors, cos players, and of course some awesome actors for cool pictures. read more

Every expo and event I've gone to has been clean and bright, but my god the concession stand food is terrible. Never get anything with meat, especially chicken or pulled pork. The chicken is rubbery and questionable and pulled pork was entirely inedible. read more

I was here this past Saturday for the Oddities and Curiosities Expo and I have to say that it's one of the nicest convention centers I've ever been to. It's clean and has a lot to offer. You can use the whole upper floor of the building for a con if necessary. Concessions has a decent variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and food. The only issue is that I couldn't find an ATM anywhere! Perhaps that's on the first floor. It's still a little inconvenient. Still, this is a decent place right near a few parking garages, which helps. read more

Soupfest was very nice. A lot of different soups to pick from. A change to try out some "weird" soups like Reuben soup. Too bad some soups were really salty. This time the setup was much better than before. More room to move. read more

I was here as a volunteer for the Beishline 5K race and the Expo for the Buffalo Marathon. The Convention Center is a great place for these events as there is a lot of room for the race number and packet pick-up as well as the post race parties(both the 5K and the Marathon). The Convention center staff as always been very helpful. read more

This is a good space and I've been here for many different events. They've got several smaller rooms downstairs and one large one upstairs. As Buffalo's largest convention space this facility gets all the major shows including various comic cons, the auto show, hall of fame dinners, and various other traveling and nationwide events. Located in downtown Buffalo the entrance is on Franklin Street with valet parking available some days based on the event. There are at least two or three parking ramps nearby to utilize that are within walking distance of the front entrance. Lastly they've usually got food and snacks available of some sort at their snack bars located inside the center. read more

Car show what what !! This was my first car show experience. To be honest I only came to see the Porsche's. And there was only three and not even the cool ones. Lol damn. But all in all it was cool experience. The cars were nice and looking hottt. If they had only an exotic cars , car show I'd be there in a heartbeat. Good times, I had fun. read more

I come here for a variety of events. World's largest disco, buffalo on tap, and now soup fest. Convenient location in the city and large enough spot for high volume events. Parking is almost always hard to find. I spend about 15 minutes just looking for a spot. I'm glad buffalo has a building and center for these types of things. I've been here for numerous events. Award lunches. Conventions. Wine tastings. Wedding reception many years ago. There is all sorts of space here. Some larger rooms. Some smaller. First floor. Second floor. Great hall. Etc. It's functional. Not super attractive, but then I suppose most convention centers aren't. I've had very good food here and not great food, but that's a function of the host not the place I think. There is parking I think, but I've never used it. Always find street parking somewhere nearby. 3 stars, it's fine. read more

I have not hosted an event here, but I've attended many through my years in Buffalo and I've grown to like the space. The one thing I can say about this venue is that it's adaptable. You can have a classy event for a smaller, larger group of people (100+) or 4,000+ person event. The staff seems to always be on the ball and there are many roll-y carts for loading in and out. No parking attached to the venue, but it's downtown so what can you really expect? The downstairs area has a ballroom with many round tables, perfect for a sit down dinner / award show, banquet, or even a college party of sorts (a lot of the Student Associations host their fund raisers at the venue). The upstairs is more of an open space -- room for a stage and at least 30-50 vendors. Can probably hold a thousand people at once pretty comfortably. read more

Came for Home Show. Imagine if you will, you are using a walker and many times a wheelchair. Parking is a nightmare. Had to park 7 blocks away. For people that are disabled.... a nightmare indeed. This will be our last time ever to the Buffalo Convention Center. So discouraging and so disappointed. read more

Buffalo Motorama at the Convention Center - March 23, 2012 This was marketed as a larger event than the previous year but the result of our vendor interviews and patron exit interviews gave a different opinion. There were first time vendors as well as first time patrons this year as you would expect but we focused on return attendees in both categories. Vendors: The most discussed issues were a) the $50 increase in price over last year and b) the much smaller showing in attendance. Patrons: Of primary concern to the ticket purchasers was the decrease in the number and diversity of show cars (estimated at 15- 20%) and the decrease in the number of vendors. We found that there were a few vendors (based on the website listing) who didn't show. Okay, that's not the end of the world. We did agree however that the attendance over the previous year - was about 30% less. That percentage is an approximation based on responses from staff and security. There were also comments such as "just wait 'til tonight - it will be plenty busy". Unfortunately - it wasn't. We got our hands stamped for a return visit and came back 4 hours later. Maybe it was the rainy weather that kept people away from a very dry experience. An additional vendor complaint came in the form of foot traffic and flow inside 2 of the rooms. There were a collection of vendors geared toward women attending the event in an area named the Women's Oasis. Unfortunately the traffic design in the room brought patrons in a loop that didn't give them good exposure to the vendors there. Of 4 'Oasis' vendors interviewed 2 said they would likely not return next year. All in all it was a disappointment for vendors and ticketholders (some, not all). There's still the coolness of seeing great machines and watching children's eyes light up at the sight of Chrome, Metallic Paint, Neon, NoS and Plasma. Next year? read more

Throughout the 8 days we were there we became very familiar with the staff of the building. From servers to security guards, every single person we came into contact with was efficient, courteous, and always willing to go the extra mile. What a refreshing experience! As far as convention centers go, it's not exactly the greatest place in the world, but it's unquestionably the best Buffalo has to offer. I've been here multiple times over the years for events like the Buffalo car show, Bridesworld, and Polar Bites. It's a very large and spacious building with multiple ball rooms. It's definitely an adaptable location, they have room for a couple hundred on the first floor, or a much larger room on the second floor with room for thousands. read more

I've never been to the Buffalo Convention Center before yet luckily this week, I had 2 events here! The first event was a technology showcase that included dinner. The showcase was in the large room to the left. There were about 50 vendors and it was a nice area to walk around and talk to people. Not too loud either. The dinner was in the big show room (ballroom?) on the ground floor. It included a stage. The food was very good, but there was a ton of food they had. The employees were very friendly and helpful. There was a lit stage and screens to play movies. I thought it was very loud in this room, yet it may have been because the movies playing were so loud. The next event I went to on Saturday was the Buffalo Wine Festival. It was in the upstairs showroom. I thought it was very organized. There were probably about 40 vendors and it was easy to move around from booth to booth. read more

I like the layout of our convention center. It's all very functional allowing for different configurations. It can be wide open for big events like a car show or carved in to smaller rooms for other events. The whole convention center could benefit from a facelift. The decor is all very dated. It's like that house you know you'd love except the whole place is covered in shag carpet and the whole kitchen is that horrible avocado green. read more

Great venue location in Buffalo! It's like all the best events are held here and it always works out. There's plenty of room, parking is ample (even if paid), bathrooms are always stocked, and the location is fantastic. I've been to my fair share of events here. On tap beer festival, soupfest, the wine festival and my favorite the world's largest disco. As a location for those events, it works. Probably because thus space is chameleon like. The way the disco come to life, you really forget where you are! I've never had a bad time at any event there. The staff was friendly, security good and the restrooms clean. My only gripe is I never know where to park. read more

I don't go to the Convention Center for many events, but those I've attended there have all been decent - I'm still waiting for a really great YELP event to be hosted there. Normally it's large enough and organized well enough to really have a good time. The pricing to enter - based on various events can be a bit steep for this area, but overall - Buffalo should look at this place as another asset! read more

I have attended numerous events at the convention center, and while it is in desperate need of a remodel and revamp of their catering menu, they always have an amazing set up. Recently attended the Buffalo Home Show and every room was full of vendors and booths. The set up on each floor was amazing! As far as a convention center, this is pretty good. I'm never disappointed at an event here. They do a good job making it work for a variety of events, whether its a casual food festival, a dance party or a work event, they can really transform the space. I've attended a formal ball, they drape fabrics and add up lighting to make it fancy. The food was very good as well. I've attended the World's Largest Disco with bright lights and disco balls. I've attended Soup-fest and wine festivals where it's a more bright, empty feel. There is also a room downstairs that is smaller and more intimate. No matter what the event, the Convention Center is always clean, including the bathrooms, the staff is nice and everything is organized. My only complaint, sometimes the crowds get a little bit out of control, so be prepared. Some festivals I've attended, the vendors were back to back with lines and it's hard to move or enjoy yourself. At the Turkey Trot this year, there were not enough staff to pour the beers causing huge lines and crowds and pushing and shoving so much you could hardly move. I'm not sure how they could fix this but I did notice there seemed to be some wasted space that could have been used better. Overall, it's great venue for a variety of events! read more

The Convention Center, by far, has the best food in town for large events. Sue Kimmins never says no, and always finds a way to accommodate any need we have no matter what the request is. The pricing is average, and often times lower, but like I said - the food is worth every penny! The only thing the convention center is missing is a parking ramp. This is one of my favorite locations to host an event in the city. read more
