This place is truly a hidden gem! Breakfast selection is small but everything is done to perfection. Service is amazing with friendly and helpful staff. Chef is engaging and exceptional.... Best eggs ever

Fancy pepperoni arrangement but definitely not enough for all the cheese and crackers

We have come year a couple of times for business events and this year was nothing like in the past. (It was much better in previous years). It was a nice day and the doors were open to let in fresh air. Unfortunately, this meant flies were all over the veggie tray. There was also a huge tray of cheese and crackers, but only a very small amount of pepperoni. I liked how the pepperoni was arranged in a rose, but it didn't last longer than five minutes. Italian sausage was one of the items on the hot buffet and it was served with hot dog rolls which looked a bit cheap. As for the taste of everything, it was a bit of a let-down. Nothing memorable. I do love this location and the bartenders and bussers were great, but the food was sub-par.

If your looking for a special setting with exceptional chef Kevin and staff look no further than Tewksbury Lodge! Located downtown at River Fest Park this banquet room is located by the waterfront! Yesterday I went here for my close friends baby shower and all the safety precautions were in place due to Covid. Everyone's temp was taken at the door, masks were worn by employees, guests had to wear masks when out of their seats, the chef wore a mask when serving the brunch buffet and served everyone. Yes I know this seems like a lot but I felt comfortable, safe, and best yet had FUN! The brunch buffet was delicious and the mini beef on weck with horseradish was my favorite! They also had bacon, sausage, western omelet (very good), scrambled eggs, home fries, and a tasty strawberry salad with walnuts & poppyseed dressing! The staff was also exceptional with the coffee/ water service and offering the themed pink drinks! I love the natural lighting with all the windows and being next to the water is so relaxing. Parking was easy too because there is a parking lot and many side street spots. This wasn't my only time here either. I went here for an event before Covid with my husband for his law professors surprise birthday party and that was a good time too. Tewksbury Lodge is not only a smart option for showers, birthdays, weddings, baptisms, but it's ideal for ANY special occasion. They also offer special brunch events for Mother's Day, Father's Day, breakfast with Santa, and Easter. Check out my pictures and look them up online to call to book your next special event and to get more info. Everyone is accommodating and friendly. https://tewksbury-lodge.com

Excellent venue for large parties, political fundraisers, association gatherings. Situated on the banks of the Erie Canal, across from the historic grain elevators, the covered patio is absolutely delightful rain or shine. They put out a nice buffet of common fair or cuisine, whatever you wish to pay for. Just a beautiful spot.

Finally found what I've been looking for! I love water and I love food. It's been my mission all summer to find a restaurant on the water that has food good enough that I'd return to eat not just for the view. It's a lot harder than you might think. Tewksbury Lodge is directly across the river from Buffalo Riverworks. There is also access to Riverfront Park which lies adjacent to the restaurant. If you plan to arrive by boat you can dock your boat outside with quick access to the park and restaurant (not sure if you have to pay to dock?) There is a parking lot and ample street parking as well if you arrive by car. My friend and I wandered in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon on our way home from a morning kayaking trip down the road. We weren't quite sure what to expect or if the building we found was even a restaurant but decided to find out. Right from the beginning I was in love. Wanting to take advantage of the beautiful day we requested a seat outside. We walked through the big open dining area to the patio. The patio is completely covered and provided enough shade that we could enjoy a view of the water (and city depending on where you are sitting) and the outdoors without melting in the sun. As I waited for the food to arrive I hoped so desperately that the food would match the view. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to order because it all looked good. The prices were very reasonable as well. The food options were simple and classic. When the food arrived I was pleasantly surprised with the taste, quality and portion size. I think I finally found what I've been looking for. I can't wait to return and try some of the other options. Also a shout out to the staff who were friendly and attentive. If they can continue to serve good food with a smile, once they gain popularity, I imagine Tewksbury Lodge will become one of Buffalo's favorite riverfront restaurants.

    Baby Shower!

Fabulous venue! Simply beautiful! Food was excellent and staff was accommodating and worked hard to go the extra step the entire time.

Great view of the river renaissance.

Surprised my husband with a Father's Day breakfast . Got here just at opening so we could snag a table outside, it was such a lovely morning. The omelettes were both hearty and savory as were the potatoes. My Bloody Mary was spicy- just the way I like it. Staff were friendly and prompt! The view was wonderful with all the activity going on along the river. We will certainly be returning here soon!

Tewksbury Lodge has good food, a good view, and good service. This restaurant is located near Canalside by the grain elevators. There isn't much signage advertising them from the outside so it's easy to drive by and dismiss this place as a restaurant. We weren't even sure it was open when going in! I found the food to be delicious. There were lots of choices and the prices were reasonable. I would say that they serve your typical lunch foods. I opted for chicken fingers and fries. They give you a huge portions which is nice if you just went kayaking! There is a lot of indoor seating and only a few outdoor tables. As a math lover, I was disappointed by the arrangement of the outdoor tables. They were set up as four tables with four seats at each table. They could easily split up the combined tables for more seating. On each side of the patio, they could have one table farther from the doors as a four top and then move the other two tables to the sides creating a pathway where there would be 2 two top tables on each side. With only a few months of summer in Buffalo, I'd hate to be the person missing out on an outdoor table when there is the possibility for more outdoor seating!

I finally made it to the Lodge for a private event. The bar selection was surprisingly delightful. Usually catered events don't have decent wine or various liquors to choose from, but I was impressed with the Cabernet Sauvignon selection and large selection of liquors. The view from the venue is absolutely stunning between the Buffalo River, Riverworks. and the skyline of downtown. The food was served buffet style and included a gorgeous salad presentation, pasta salad, wings, Turkey sandwiches, beef sandwiches, fried raviolis, and stuffed mushrooms. The only thing I didn't try was the Turkey, but everything was exceptional for a buffet. The wings were so good I went back for seconds, which again, in a buffet is unheard of. Kudos to the chef. I do wish the space had some noise dampening measures. It was pretty hard to hear people at your table over the roar of the crowd. Overall a great experience. I will definitely be back!

After a long drive to have brunch somewhere on Elmwood, just to find the doors locked, I ventured…read moreover here to have lunch and it did not disappoint! First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

I ordered the smash burger, my husband ordered the turkey sandwich. After we were waiting for our food for over 25 minutes, the server came over and said that he was just informed they don't have the turkey because they had an issue with that freezer. Ok, so my husband ordered the cheese steak because he was super excited for the bahn mi roll. My smash burger was alright, but the bread they use for their burgers remind me of those cheap buns you get from TOPS that just fall apart. The worst part was that they forgot the dog sauce on my burger, so I asked for the sauce, and THEY CHARGED ME FOR ASKING FOR SAUCE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO ALREADY BE ON THE BURGER I ORDERED. My husband made sure to tell me after we already left because he knew I would have fought it and our already 1.5 hour long lunch date would have been longer waiting for the refund... He ordered the cheesesteak and the sandwich was so small, and the "bahn mi bun" wasn't even toasted which is a signature for bahn mi bread. He said the flavor was fine but nothing to rave about. The worst part, for me, were the French fries that came with both of our meals. They were soooo heavily peppered that they were inedible. We asked for ketchup to try to make them tolerable, and they gave us a pre-portioned small cup of ketchup... You serve french fries with most of your menu, why isn't there ketchup on the table?!? Overall, It was a nice place to have on senrca street which used to only have the blackthorn and franchescas, but I would not eat here again.

Some friends, my husband and I came here for dinner a couple weeks back when visiting the area, and…read morefound both hits and misses. The service was very good and it's a cute spot that I'd be willing to come back to. The best thing we had BY FAR were the beef croquettes. These were perfect, and I could have made a meal out of them. They had a tender birria like shredded meat inside with some cheese and probably some potato, I can't even remember but I do remember that everyone loved these. We also ordered asparagus, the Korean Fried Chicken, the shrimp with potatoes (all small plates) and one of my friends ordered the duck entree. My husband and friends had cocktails and mocktails; I didn't order one because they said they had nothing that was sweet. Incidental pet peeve: Saying "all our cocktails are balanced". I get it, you want to brag. But, some of us like things that are sweet, or as in the case of one of my friends, decidedly NOT sweet. If all of your cocktails are balanced the same way, it gives little useful info on what to order. I will respond to this by NOT ordering and sticking to tap water. I'd prefer it if you have a little something sweet and a little something not-sweet on the menu for those of us who don't actually want "perfectly balanced". That said, I did have a sip of the cocktails the others ordered. To my surprise, I liked the Broken Garden Tools. Though it wasn't particularly sweet it was also not super sour/tart and it was refreshing. I *could* have ordered that one, but I never would have known it from the description. I didn't like any of the others I tasted, but I can't remember what those were. Since I don't like whisky and I prefer sweet drinks, don't take this to mean that they don't have good drinks - the others enjoyed theirs, they just weren't to MY taste. Of the other dishes, I liked the cabbage that was on my friend's duck plate (I didn't try the duck). The asparagus was fine. The shrimp and potatoes was ok but not as good as I'd hoped for. And honestly, I didn't love the KFC. It didn't seem to be twice-fried and super crispy like KFC should be, and the sauce to me wasn't balanced between the sweet and spicy flavors I prefer. However, my husband liked it very well. The only other thing I'd caution is to double check ingredients. There was a dish ordered (I can't remember which now, some kind of bread maybe, but not listed as a bruschetta) that said it contained rosemary among other things but did not list basil. We saw no rosemary at all, but a lot of basil, which I can't eat. So I didn't have any. The others shared it. I would have been more disappointed had it been my selection. My friend noted that the server did not ask us about any food allergies, which, if your menu doesn't accurately list its contents, is problematic. Fortunately I know what basil looks like so no harm done. All in all, I would return, get lots of croquettes, order a Broken Garden Tools, and maybe try some other things we didn't get to. But I'd double check all the ingredients.

That focaccia was like no other focaccia I'd ever had but was delicious; crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. The steak (med rare) was perfect to me, hubs thought it was a tiny bit too rare for him. It was super tender and easy to eat, perfect char. I couldn't eat the chimmichurri it came with as it has Thai basil (not usual in chimmichurri, but I'm allergic, and the server was very good about asking about allergies) but honestly, it didn't need it. That steak stood on its own. Both desserts were delicious, but to my surprise I think the pavlova was even better than the panna cotta (and I love panna cotta). The portions were very generous and I was pretty stuffed by the time I got home. So good! Went here for a Saturday evening birthday dinner. Parking was available right in their…read moreparking lot next to the restaurant. We had a drink at the bar and then we're seated at our table. The waiter was cordial, friendly and informative. We ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer, the Carrot Papardella, and the Penne w/ grilled steak "au poivre". So good! The bread with the tomato sauce was fresh and the sauce had an amazing flavor. The stuffed mushroom with artichoke stuffing was very rich and flavorful. Lots of stuffing. The Carrot Papardella had large chunks of fresh seafood and great sauce. The penne with steak was very good. The marsala sauce was very rich and filling but flavorful with that sweet marsala wine sauce. Steak was tenderly cooked perfectly. The waiter brought out a great slice of complimentary birthday caramel ganache cake. Great surprise. Our water glasses were never empty, the bread was plentiful and the meal was so tasty, fresh and flavorful. This place has a good amount of seating but reservation recommended for busier times. It's a nice dining room with a bar at the entrance of the restaurant. They have daily specials and rotating dessert specials. Highly recommended and always worth the visit!!
