3.5 to be exact! We ventured over here after a yummy dinner from Miss Saigon (Yum! #55 Read my review!) Anyway, this store had an array of styles to choose from! Whether you're chic, designer, comfy, or hipster you'll be sure to find something here. I was able to find a pair of brand new camel colored studded boots for $14! Score! However, in my opinion, many of their clothing was over priced. There was a faded, seams were a bit undone, and stretched out All Saints sweater that they wanted almost $30 for. Way too pricey/vintage for my taste ;) They currently have a bunch of Halloween costumes and the employees were dressed accordingly. This Buffalo Exchange always has great inventory-- a wide selection of sizes, styles, and unique pieces. Every time I come here I know I'm going to find something that I love. I also come here to sell clothes sometimes as well, and I think for the most part their trade option is always a way better deal if they are looking to buy a piece from you. You can store your trade value on a gift card so you don't have to spend it immediately (but I usually do...) Overall, this location is great and the sales associates always seem very cheerful and eager to help. The associates are mostly college-aged but I never feel out of place or "too old" here. read more

This place sucks as far as prices or trades go. I took in some old Levi's & got one lousy buck for em. All the shirts are btwn $15-25 which makes it more worthwhile to go to a new discount store or Factory2u. Shoes are overpriced as well & they stink. read more

I really can't understand this place. it's so frustrating everytime I go. it's a long wait to get your clothes checked so meanwhile i go shop around. I have never bought anything from here because they don't have the best stuff really and not a good selection of actual cute things to buy so it gives me hope that they'll take a few of my things. But no they never do which I have never understood because not to gloat I usually like to get name brand things such as free people and steve madden brands that people i'm sure would like to find discounted and they never take anything. I've been here too many times and i'm always disappointed . I have a confession to make: Half of my wardrobe is from Buffalo Exchange. In other words, half of my wardrobe was previously worn by other people, but it's the better half of my wardrobe, so I don't mind. :) A few years ago, my friends from out of town asked where I shopped and I told them Buffalo Exchange. When they asked what Buffalo Exchange was, I described it as such: "Remember when you were younger and you went to a girl friend's house and would go through their closet (we've all done it)? You would always find something W-A-Y super cute that she would let you borrow but you could never keep. Well, Buffalo Exchange is like going through your friend's closet except you get to keep the clothes!" I found an amazing pair of BCBG skinny jeans there for $50, which to this day were my favorite pair of jeans (may they rest in peace). I also bought a really cute pair of black vintage cowgirl boots and constantly get asked where I got them. The prices are great, the trade is meeeh and the associates who work there are always dressed stellar. Take it from me, Buffalo Exchange is the place to be! read more

I sent clothes into buffalo exchange this past week and they called me back after two days to tell me that my clothes were worth 20 dollars. I told them that was too low, they then told me that i couldn't get my clothes back because they donated them already. when i asked before hand not to donate them at all. so all they could give me was 20 dollars which was a ridiculous price. Buffalo exchange is really just stealing your stuff and telling you they can't do anything about it. read more

I recently took in a large bag of clothes to sell. Although they didn't buy all my clothes the two women that assisted me were extremely friendly and made it a painless and positive experience. I will definitely use this location again. Looking forward to spending my store credit. read more

This is now one of my favorite BEs it's just a shame that it's 110 miles from where I actually live. The shoe selection was just A-Ok I didn't find anything that I liked and I was really trying. The funny story is that before I came here, I was on 4th ave shopping in this store that sells Iron Fist merchandise and I saw this really cute werewolf purse I loved that came with maroon velvet handles and bow ties at the end of each handle. I didn't really want to ask her how much the purse in the window was because I was sure she was going to say $60 and I didn't want to spend that much on a purse. We went to BE and I looked at the purses first and lo and behold there the purse was! and it was only 18.50 in like new condition. Stuff like that always happens to me, like the time I found a real leather Prada duffel bag at Savers for 5.99. Unfortunately, it only involves shopping but I also found a Harajuku Notting Hill Tokyo tote bag for 15.00 which was 50% off in new condition. My sister found a captains hat for $5 which would have cost her $15 with a crooked label at another store we found previously before coming here. The only thing I didn't entirely like was their selection on shirts so your best bet is everything else. Some things are a little too pricey but again you just have to pick and choose. There are nice things to be found for cheap. read more

Not impressed. Coming from California, I can definitely appreciate used clothing stores...but one of the biggest part of their coolness-factor are the prices. Not here. This place borders on outlet prices for NEW clothing. And unless you have time to dig, you aren't going to be in and out in a hurry. This applies to not only bringing in clothes to be reviewed (even if it's right when they open at 10) but as well as trying to check out. People literally bring in bags of garage sale cast-offs that Buffalo Exchange wouldn't pay 2 cents for...which clogs up the available cashiers. *Serious pet peeve: While I think it's awesome that BE buys home-made jewelry from the local populace, they really need to set aside a specific time for that stuff to be evaluated. Nothing is more frustrating than the one person that is checking out possible 'donations' to be stuck picking out 30+ pairs of earrings,small chatting and pricing while people line up to have their clothes looked at. read more

NEVER SELL TO THIS PLACE EVER they bought 5 things from me with tags but they don't tell you how much they're going to pay you till you get to the checkout on the other side of the store... i sold them a pair of vans that had maybe been worn twice, two dresses with tags, a skirt with the tags, and a nice shirt with tags and when i went over to the other side to check out the lady goes okay so we can give you 16.35 cash or 27 store credit. WHAT?! i should have just said no deal and demanded my stuff back but i was a push over... THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE, each individual item was marked over 16.35 on the tags that were still attached to them!! i could have easily sold the vans on poshmark or facebook market for at least 30$. this is just ridiculous. i honestly hope this place goes out of business, but i guess if they keep scamming people like this they never will. UPDATE: after talking with a few people (friends/family) and expressing my frustrations, they suggested i call and see if i can get at least the vans back. so i called and the lady was very nice and they are letting me come back and pick them up. read more

Once you get past the staff that is mostly unfriendly and not always helpful you can find some really great stuff here. I mostly go to buy stuff for my 13 year old son who all of a sudden has very distinct ideas about what he wants to look like. Can we say hormones anyone? (insert big sigh here) We can always find stuff he likes and the prices are reasonable (for the most part). I would give this store 4 or 5 stars if the staff was better. The last time we were there the cashier actually made some snarky comments about a brand my son likes. It's just not ok, nor did I ask for her opinion. I wanted to say "You aren't a starving artist so quit the whole tortured soul routine and just swipe my credit card." but I refrained. We will be back because I like a good deal. Bring in your gently used clothing and accecsories and they will give you cash or trade to use in the store. This is a great way to update your wardrobe on the cheap. The staff were wonderful. Very polite and helpful. It was really busy but I feel like I only waited 10 minutes. They explained decisions as they went through my belongings. They were fair on price. Spoke discreetly, which means a lot to someone who has had their identity stolen. They missed 5 stars bcuz when they didn't choose something it was sorta rolled in a ball & put back in what I brought it in. Now they are a mess and I will have to wash & dry everything just to donate. They ask customers to bring items in folded neatly not a lot of wrinkles. I would be happy if they let the customer refold or maybe they could just not make a mess of the items they don't take. Our planet needs all our help and wasting water, electricity & gasoline as I had planned to go directly to the charity i support but I had to come home to wash and dry again. It not only costs the customers but earth too. Otherwise fantastic. read more

Honestly I was excited to go and trade clothes but the standard of trading clothes is way too high. Like I had good quality clothes, that even I was hesitant to trade because I still wore them time to time but I'm simply need to make room. So I was pretty confident in passing the test to trade but the employ told me that if I had good type of clothes but it slightly faded in color and said that if I had clothes that were better colored we can trade? Out of the few places I have been in Tucson that sell second hand clothing I will say that Buffalo Exchange has the best name brand clothing. I didn't end up purchasing anything on my first visit but it appeared that they get new clothes daily. I also really like that instead of you walking out with your newly purchased clothes in a plastic sack, you get the cost of the bag and to choose between three different charities to donate that money to. The prices did seem a little steep but they had some great choices and those are the types of places you always find the diamond in the rough. read more

Who knew recycled clothing could be so fun! None of this Savers or Goodwill ish...the buyers at Buffalo Exchange only choose the latest and hip styles to add to their inventory. Customers are encouraged to bring in their unwanted clothing and accessories and the store will buy them from you! You can either take cash, or accept trade (you get more $$ if you choose trade). :) I absolutely love this place. They have name brand items for a fraction of what they would typically cost. $30 for 7 jeans? Yes please! Buffalo Exchange is very involved with non-profit organizations. When you check out, you can accept a token in lieu of a bag..you can place the token the box of a non-profit of your choice and the company will donate 5 cents to that organization. Usually they highlight 3 non-profits at a time...today I donated to a local cat shelter. :) read more

I know know what racks to go straight toward based on my few previous visits. In the past, used clothing stores have left me disappointed as most things are waaay to used or there simply isn't good things to buy. The stuff here is current and in great condition. My experience at BuFEX, has always been consistant. I seem never to always to find one or two articles but thats about it... The staff are always pleasant, and i leave my bag toke for the forrest people, because honestly people there are too many dogs and cats out there for me to give a rats A** about.... The Mens selection boarder on something akin to vintage, ZUMIEZ or METRO combined, but with so many outdated screen print tees, and so few well adorned button ups it feels a bit childish.... Although there are often pieces that are ust way over the top and thats why i come, to snatch them.... Girls selection looks pretty bomb, im excited to have this store around... I have hit or miss luck here with clothes. So I always come back. One time I find something, the next I don't. But the finds are awesome. Plenty of brand new clothes at used prices. Great shirts and pants for men in very nice condition. I have picked up sweaters and shoes and jackets here and dress clothes for work, casual and at home. I love when I find discounts at 50% off. The women's section here seems way way larger (because it is) but I can't quite say how it is. The dressing rooms are ample. The staff are very nice. I don't like the trading much, they don't take much of my stuff or offer much, but maybe I bring in crap, I dunno. I do know it's a great place to get what I need most of the time! read more

Popped in here the other day on a shopping-whim and $70 later I left with three new (tagged) maxi dresses & a like-new Nicole Miller cocktail dress & a pair of lavender leather gloves. The store is more or less neatly laid out - with the registers & accessories up front, the selling counter off to the side & clothing arranged by gender & type & size on racks throughout the store. You really have to be in the mood to browse this place to be able to find the hidden gems. If you're not, you'll quickly get bored with the dingy atmosphere (it is a secondhand store after all) and digging through the racks. I'm pretty picky about what I buy - so unless it's an absolute steal (designer) and in great condition or brand new, I won't buy it. I haven't tried to sell anything here yet - but I sense a major closet de-stash is in the works. My previous experience selling at a BE was in San Diego and I was less than impressed with their customer interaction. I will dutifully report back on this place after the de-stash of clothing doom. This is hands down my FAVORITE Buffalo Exchange!! I live in LA now and let me tell you...our BE's don't even compare. Ours are pretty picky when it comes to clothes and styles whereas I recall this branch being a little more geared toward the college student. Can't tell you how many times I went through my closet in search of some article of clothing to sell so I could get some cash to go for a beer at Dirtbags! Sigh...those were the days... I have been going to buffalo for 15 years now, and I love it!!! The staff is always awesome! You can even bring in your well behaved pooch to tag-a-long while you shop! I have gotten so many designer pieces from here, including a pair of Golden Goose boots recently!! YES!!! It is a hit or miss place. Some days are better then others, but the majority of the time I always find something. We have the best Buffalo Exchange in the country right here in our wonderful city!!! I love this locally-owned clothing resale business. I've found great clothing items for work, for play, and for going out. The trick is to allow myself enough time - I take an hour and work my way through all the racks of clothing that are in my size - shirts, pants, dresses, etc. With this approach, I'm likely to find something I need/want. The prices here are a bit steeper than you would find at a traditional thrift store, but I don't have to dig as hard to find something cool. I feel like I have a little more luck selling my clothes when I give the Buyer some space - dropping my stuff off at the counter and then browsing while they go through my bag of clothes, shoes, or jewelry. I don't know for sure, but I'm convinced this method gets me better results (i.e., they buy more, which means more store credit for me) then when I watch them assess the coolness of my cast-off clothing. I also like the fact that Buffalo supports a cleaner environment and local non-profits, by letting you donate the cost of your plastic bag to the charities that are on rotation. I'm a fan! read more

I think four stars is a very fitting rating for this store. I had just donated some clothes, somewhere else, and chose to stop by to see if I could replenish my clothing stock at home. Keep in mind that I am not the small college sized girl I use to be. Hence, when I first walked inside and I saw a lot of slender college galls and guys shopping I felt my chances were weak in finding fitting clothes (I think the place caters to the fit, trendy, college crowd). Oh well, I still decided to brave going in. One thing I will note is that I browsed a bit and found the prices to be mostly $14 per item (and up). The condition of half the clothes were sometimes meh and somehow the dressing room stank terribly (like a dirty locker room). I couldn't wait to change and get out. However.... it's the jeans and shorts department that get the low rating since I found them to be extremely faded but Buffalo Exchange does a very good job with selecting lightly used tops, purses, shoes, and accessories. The customer service is very friendly which is a major plus. The car parking is tough though. I had a hard time getting a spot and getting out of my parking space. So if you like to wear crocs with average jeans and t-shirts (like myself) then maybe this store isn't for you. The apparel they sell is more high fashion with leopard/ snake prints, feathered leather peep toe shoes, and long silken tank tops (and then some). It's not my thing but it was fun going in an exploring even if I did walk out with nothing. read more

I used to always find things here but the store has been lacking lately. In fact I haven't bought anything here for about a year. I have also noticed the store stocked with the kind of cheap things you would find at Ross or on Aliexpress/Wish. Several of the same items in every size, new with the tags on. In my experience of buying and selling clothes on Depop this is a popular tactic of selling things from China. Seems they are lowering their standards for profit. Very very sad considering the mission statement of this company and morals it was built on. From now on I am only going to the store in Tempe. read more

Umm... Buffalo Exchange is just a weird place, but they are trying to appear hip and cool and appeal to a very niche clientele. As I browse their items for sale I find all kinds of things-- some cool, some not. Some with stains or worn out or missing buttons or snags etc. And everything is ridiculously overpriced. Yet whenever I take my items in, they basically let me know that my stuff isn't good enough for them (even the brand new items I never wore that still have the tags on them). Which is fine except that they're selling things that are in worse condition than my things and therefore their buying & selling policy makes no sense to me. Also the girl who told me my stuff wasn't the style they were looking for was wearing the ugliest dress ever... which I guess is cool and what they are looking for? :-/ I just don't get it. Also $20 for 1 item of used clothing is ridiculous. I can buy brand new items for the same price or less. I don't usually go to this store and have pretty much never bought anything here because of their outrageous prices and the fact that they only seem to cater to a very niche crowd with very specific styles and who are willing to pay $20 for one used item. And not to mention the stuck up, snobby attitude that exists in the store. No wonder the other 2 Buffalo Exchanges closed. I won't be back any time soon. read more

I have been shopping/trading at this buffalo exchange location for years now and this has been my favorite location until recently..... Over the past few months I have noticed that the selection has become more fast fashion than exciting and unique as it once was. I used to find a ton of great funky vintage clothing and jewelry but all of a sudden I'm seeing a lot of Free People, Zara, Forever 21 etc. which in my opinion lacks the character and individuality that Buffalo exemplifies. It seems that the buyers are starting to buy things simply because the brand is popular instead of buying things that are great. period. The second thing I will say is that the buyers at this location used to be friendly and polite. However, I have had a few unpleasant experiences with some of the new employees. The newer girls that haven been buying my stuff have been basically asking me to shop around and come back to the counter in a few minutes when they finish going through my things. I have noticed that they are buying my best pieces for dirt cheap simply because they are unaware of their value due to possible insufficient training. I never used to leave buffalo exchange feeling ripped off but recently I have. I have had very positive experiences with other locations for example the Tempe location always buys a large variety of items and prices them all fairly. I still love this company and hope the Tucson location can use this review to make positive changes. read more

I read so many negative reviews about this small local business that is on the front lines with real shoppers right inside their walls every day. Since they have been around for decades, they may just know why they want this, but not that. I have never been treated rudely and I am the opposite of a hot college hipster. I used to trade all the time, now just a couple of times a year because I don't need as many clothes, but I always find something for me or my guys--one of them a very cool 20 something. Prices are not always cheap, but they are fair and what I am willing to pay: especially with trade coupon in hand. read more

Buffalo exchange continues to baffle me. When I try to sell to them I only bring in the nicest stuff: J. Crew, Betsey johnson, and other higher end brands. As I look through the racks I find labels for "faded glory" (walmart's brand) and "mossimo" (target's brand) plus shirts and pants that are terribly made, stained, and falling apart...but perhaps they look..cool? Who knows, I guess I'm not hip enough to get it. The staff is friendly for the most past but seem more concerned with fahionably looking the part than ya know...helping customers. Once in a great while I find a decent price for shoes, but that is more likely to occur at the Eastside Buffalo. You can find the same crapp aesthetics for far less at Ross dress for less. read more

To me, this BufEx is absolute crap, with tons of old, dated stuff, lovingly donated and buffally exchanged by "bread and butter" Ebayers, high-end California style students with tons of extra cash here and there, bored stay-at-home fashionista Moms, and estate sellers who are just trying to get rid of their deceased parents/relatives clothing. A true Holy Grail for hipster outfits, slightly stinky cowboy boots, crusty sneakers and Jordans from mid-90's and earlier, crossdresser diva's delights, early "Dallas" era appare, etc, you name it. When it comes to exchange, they won't give you any decent money for anything, but rather openly laugh at your style, hair color, ethnicity, and say stuff like "come back next winter", or "bring your stuff around Halloween", well thank you, my fair weird ladies and gentlemen :) That's how you really attract your target customers crowd :) The "fashion buyers" behind the counter - or so they call bizarre looking cashiers, aka funnyfarm crowd, are just plain college kids who think they know everything about the history of arts and fashion, European and UK-based styles and trends, fashion blogs, everything. Believe an old lady, then don't. They take old, worn out and faded stuff with holes in it just because it has a trendy logo on it and skip real good pieces of solid, seasonal apparel. Avoid at all costs, unless you want some sorority nights DNA all over you even after multiple washings, plus tons of attitude from funny looking "fashion buyer" kids =) read more

Maybe I was just having an off day but I couldn't find a single thing that I liked, and I spent a solid hour combing through the racks. I attempted to sell some items and I was offered 4 dollars for 2 skirts, which is frankly outrageous. I understand that they can't accept overly worn items or things considered out of style but the items I brought it (that were not accepted) appeared to be nicer than many of the items on the sales floor. They need to inspect the clothing more thoroughly for stains, especially around the armpits or neckline where makeup is likely to smear. read more
