Let me start by saying Shannon was one of the best waitresses I've ever had. She anticipated my needs and brought me things without me having to ask. She had a Sunday rush with tons of tables and managed to not skip a beat. I got the grandma breakfast and it was delicious. The pancakes were cooked to perfect and the bacon was just crispy enough. Racquell was a wonderful server! Constantly coming by and making sure we had everything we needed. Can't say enough good things about her. Her manager, Marco, is a different story. I ordered the steak and eggs and asked for my steak to be rare. When it came out, it was well done. As Racqell put the plate down, she knew it wasn't rare and asked me to cut into it. She apologized and took it back. Marco, the manager, comes over to the table and informed me that "this is our rare". I told him that there wasn't any pink, it wasn't even medium. He said that he would take care of it and walked away. Everyone at the table felt that the whole interaction was uncomfortable but we just kinda giggled about it and continued eating. Marco delivers my food and when I put the steak in my mouth, it was ice cold. I'm not expecting a Michelin Star steak from Cracker Barrel but that felt deliberate and disrespectful. I brought it to the entrance of the kitchen to show him the steak. Well I waited other servers asked what was wrong and I showed them the steak and they were shocked until I said that Marco brought it to me. It seems like this isn't out of character for him. Marco came out and didn't see the issue and said "this is your problem". I raised my voice and said that this was going to be his problem. Servers all around us while this happened. I say that because he told his boss that I cussed him out, that never happened and they agreed. After talking to other servers, this wasn't an isolated event and he's not liked by anyone who works there. The GM, Andrew?, came over and apologized. A person like Marco shouldn't be working in customer service. read more

The food was all what I would expect from a cracker barrel. The only thing is the eggs we orders over medium came out more over easy than medium but everything else was good. It's always about the pancakes for me here. So delicious. Crispy edges, and cooked golden brown. Guilty pleasure alert: I have fried apples and biscuits with butter and jelly also. Everything is good, great comfort, food, including chicken and dumplings, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, ribs, and more. If you come on a Sunday morning, ask for Dawn. She is amazing. I've always been a fan of Cracker Barrel so I was happy when we decided to stop in for breakfast before a road trip. I joined the wait list online which definitely saved us some time. Just like every other time I've been to Cracker Barrel, it was very busy. That being said, our server was very quick and friendly. We got our orders in pretty quickly and the food came out pretty quick. All of our food was good and the portions were big. My cousin ordered his eggs over medium and they were definitely over easy but otherwise it was good. The line to pay was wrapped through the store and everyone was bumping into everyone and that was a little frustrating. I wish there was a better way to organize that. Overall it was good! read more

I arrived into Atlanta for the holiday weekend and my best friend from high school and his husband picked me up from the airport and decided to go to Cracker Barrel for an early dinner at the spur of the moment. Cracker Barrel has always been my favorite place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner whenever I am on the road or just want to come over for a great meal. This dinner experience was just as wonderful. Our server was fantastic and took very good care of us. She was on top of everything as far as refills are concerned on beverages, and she always had a pleasant smile on her face at all times. That is what customer service should be at a restaurant. Cracker Barrel explemifies customer service and they have a wonderful ambiance that makes you feel like you are right at home. The old country store is always a plus because they have unique nicnacks and items that are good for gifts or for the home. The vintage candy selection is always nice if you want to get something that you grew up with from your childhood. Cracker Barrel is a family restaurant and always has been for years, so that is what makes it so popular and enjoyable for kids and adults. I ordered the Maple bacon grilled chicken with steamed broccoli and fried apples for dinner. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the broccoli and fried apples were amazing. I was in my way home from visiting my son and the traffic was pretty bad on the interstate so I decided to stop and dine in. I was seated in a closed section and waited for awhile before anyone noticed. A hostess finally came and moved me to an open section. The server greeted me immediately. She was veery friendly and apologetic for the mistake even though it wasn't her fault. She took my order and my food came out pretty fast. I ordered a daily special and I'm glad I did! The pork chops were absolutely amazing and the sides made the meal even more delicious. It wasn't very busy in the restaurant and my server did a great job of checking on me regularly. This pretty much goes for every Cracker Barrel my wife and I have visited over the past 5-6 years now. The food is generally done well but the service! Oh my, is it slow! If it isn't a slow greeter it is a slow waiter/waitress. If it isn't a slow waiter/waitress, the kitchen is backed up. Sometimes you get an apology. Sometimes you do not. At this particular location both the waiter and the kitchen were slow but at least our waiter was nice and apologized for the delay. That helps but come on CB! Obviously, CB's training program needs to be revamped and monitored. As a Tennessean I want to support our home state businesses but they are making it very difficult. BTW, I have been in customer service nearly my entire career (30 years). I have an MBA and for the right compensation I would be more than happy to join y'all and fix your problems. :-) read more

We've eaten at this location several times before and the food was always good. If tonight had been my first meal there, I wouldn't return. The only food that tasted like it should was my bacon. The hash brown casserole, which is normally a favorite of mine, was overcooked and dried out. The eggs were just okay as were the biscuits (which I also normally love). My husband had pancakes with his meal and I thought those were actually really, really good. I will for sure get the meal he got next time. Our server Dade was nice and attentive. Sat for 15 mins at 4:30pm and no one came to take order. Called over hostess who took order and gave to a server, Tory. Tory came by and left utensils and said your food will be out in a minute. Don't say "Hello". Didn't apologize for the wait. She helped several other tables. Then we saw 2 tables that came after us food come out. By this time we had been sitting 1 hour. The hostess came over to give an explanation but not the server nor the manager. She said she really didn't know if Tory or Shelia was our server. I'm in love with the Grandma's Sampler with two pancakes and two fresh farm eggs, also comes with country ham, bacon and your choice of hash browns or fried apples. I always always get the fried apples and eat them later in the day because so much food is served. The wait time has never been long at this location. I enjoy it here and whenever I'm in the area ans have a taste for grandma's country cooking I stop in here for the best of all things breakfast. This CB is very average, the food is average, my sausage gravy for my admittedly decent country fried steak was barely warm, and the decaf coffee I ordered was very watered down. However, my waitress, I believe her name was Desirae, was a bright spot, and checked in on me often (but not too often!) and complied with my requests cheerfully and without annoyance. You earned your tip and brightened an average dining experience, Desirae! It's not awful. It's Cracker Barrel, but probably not the best one out there. read more

"THE PULL UP"-Cracker Barrel is off Thornton Road next to the Toyota dealership in Douglasville, GA. They have a private free parking lot and parking is easy. After being seated, we were approached by our waiter, Johnnie. "MEAL AND SIPS"- Johnnie took our drink orders. I ordered coffee ($2.29) and my sweetie ordered orange juice ($2.39). Of course, I asked that I have room for cream and sugar. He came back so quick with the drinks and we were ready to order. I went with the Egg Sandwich add cheese without tomatoes and the hash brown casserole($6.38). My honey went with the kids pancake breakfast with bacon($6.88), because the portions are the same as the Adult plate but a cheaper price. "ALL GOOD"- we both enjoyed our time this morning, great service, great meal and refilled coffee for me! My sandwich and hash brown casserole had lots of flavor. The check came and we had a gift card from the holidays that had a few dollars left on it. I decided to treat today. So, I went to check out, well he left the tip. The clerk was very nice and offered us candy and trinkets before cashing me out. We bought some reeses cup, just because she was sooo sweet. The bill was $19.50.
