After a major crisis, the owners went above, and beyond to help us. Amazing place and would stay again.

Looking down from our site. We couldn't use the bathrooms because it was too slippery.

We have stayed at this KOA many times over the years passing through. The sites are gravel and many not level. It is also hilly and very close to the interstate. We made an online reservation this time paying more for a concrete patio site. We pulled in late after dark and saw ice and snow covering the entire campground. We should have backed up and left but it was already late. The roads were not treated with anything. The overnight temperatures were well below zero and in the low 20's. We attempted to reach the office and owner early in the morning and didn't receive a response. We went to the office in the morning to ask if they were going to treat the roads so we could be on our way. The co-owner stated he wasn't going to treat the roads and he would wait until the snow and ice melted. Several people were outside the office and said they weren't pleased that the roads hadn't been treated either. We were able to get out of the campground being very cautious. Would not recommend staying here. The campground should have called us to tell us about the conditions of the road.

Disclaimer: This was our first stay with KOA so we expected it to be like other campgrounds we have stayed in. We stayed in a Kamping Kabin. (KK1) Pros: It was clean, easy to check-in after hours, and offered plenty of things to do for those staying more than one night. Cons: i40 was like twenty steps from my pillow. ProTip: If you are looking to stay somewhere quick overnight, this is great. However, if you are looking to experience "the great outdoors" I would suggest something different. You can actually stay in a decent hotel with a private bathroom for what we paid to stay in the Kamping Kabin. After a full day on the road, all I can say is "hell yes." This KOA was our first stop on a two-week trip and it couldn't have been more cozy. Not only are KOAs cheap for tent camping, but they are really nice. Ummm...this one has a pool. That is freaking amazing. It was chilly and a perfect match for the warm summertime heat. We swam and loved every bit of it. The campsite itself was nicely outfitted. Only a tiny bit of trash to be spotted, but nothing to really attract critters. Biggest downside was the juxtaposition to the highway. It's LOUD. Just be warned. I sleep fine through that kind of noise, but if you're a light sleeper you may have some issues. I'd camp here again in a heartbeat. Great spot. Thanks, KOA!

    Can't wait to come back!!

It's a sunburn ride away from Woodlawn...I definitely got that today! Our friends ordered BBQ sandwiches with slaw. No one offered them napkins, BUT I am an always be prepared kinda lady and had Charmin wet wipes in our tour pack. Ya never know! The BBQ, AMAZING! It always is. There is a campground/RV park in behind the bar and General Store. Very clean and well maintained. I've stayed there a couple of nights in the past. I've been told that on Tuesday's they have an amazing steak dinner. I've never been there for that, but I'm looking forward very much to trying it soon. Of course, in my Yelp Elite fashion, I will update my review!

The owner Mary was very accommodating to our family and always very warm and welcoming when we stopped in the store. All the campers were the same. We were tent camping but Mary let us set up in front of a rental camper so we could use the electric to charge to boat and she was even gave us access to the camper to use the restroom and wash our dishes. She ever notified us that a neighboring camper was putting their camper up for sale and was just what we were looking for. We are now considering buying the camper and having a place up there of our own.

Highly recommend getting the combined museum and Loretta Lynn's (LL) house tour ticket. Our tour guide didn't seem very excited. My hubby thought she wasn't feeling well. But I could see how the right guide could take the tour to the next level. A replica of LLs old KY home is furnished with personal items, like her parents shoes. Very endearing. A replica of her tour bus is inside the museum, and you can walk through it. The actual bus is in the parking lot of the museum. The museum is quite the gem. So many beautiful gowns, and memorabilia from LL long career, as well as many other artists. Growing up, my dad would play guitar and sing Kaw-liga, so the wooden statues brought that happy memory up. Highly recommend!

No hot or even lukewarm water to shower in morning, so it was washed the face and leave. Tiny shower stalls no AC Did not even stay to do the tour. the place was filthy dirty all the way around. I understand that this is a four wheeler park at certain times of the year, but even the top of the trashcan in front of the store was disgusting. I would not recommend this place to no one. The only reason we get one stars because at least we could sleep and stop and feel a little safe where we were in the middle of nowhere land
