In town for business and stayed here. Concierge lounge on the 10th (top) floor for you frequent travelers is a good option and offers hot breakfast in the morning, snacks and drinks throughout the day, and dessert at night. The room was standard, good for business stay. Lots of plugs (even USB, etc, in the wall by the desk). My one complaint is for the pillows, they're square and lumpy like couch pillows. The bed itself was comfortable though, I think? Actually hard to say if it was actually comfortable or it was just because I was so pooped everyday. The outdoor pool and 24-hour fitness rounds the place out. Thanks, housekeeping, for cleaning under the bed and making sure we know it. Check for the sign under the bed, I was amused. There's one restaurant on-site, and a few next door. There's a bar/grill with good buffalo wings (guess I just call 'em wings here). And there's even a Korean restaurant which I plan on trying the next trip out. There's also a nail salon. A girl's got her priorities. read more

Stayed over with my team, woke up with bed bug bites the morning I was leaving. When I tried to call the hotel to tell them that I was eaten alive with bed bugs, I even went to the doctor to confirm the bites were in fact bed bugs. When I called the woman on the phone told me that she did not know the protocol for bed bugs because they do not have them... And then told me to call back and talk to someone else. From what I can tell, they let someone stay in the room that I was in, that had bed bugs and did not do anything about it. I usually love staying at Marriotts, but i don't think ill be back any time soon. read more

I'm a local, but i was meeting a friend from toronto for the halloween weekend, so we stayed here. I have mixed feelings. There were times when the front desk staff would stare ( he's white, im black) and i thought we were back in the 1950s or so. Granted, we were clearly friends and simply having fun, but i got the feeling they assumed i was an escort and that made me uncomfortabe. When we did dinner there it was worse but enough on that. Its aright. they claim to have remodeled, and we stayed on the concierge level, but apparently al they did was cover the old bathtub with plastic/plaster/whatever. And the bathroom was cramped. our fridge didnt work. the rest of the room was comfortable enough, and our housekeeper did a great job. they have a shuttle that will take you wherever, and when i was craving juice around 2am, they opened the giftshop so i could grab whatever i wanted. accomodating. make friends with the brunch staff. theyre supernice and will make your meal more enjoyable. im trying to remembder to rate according the market, and there are no W hotels in Buffalo, so to be fair, for its location its slightly above average- about a 3.5 read more

Room was clean but could use some better upgrades and improvements in bathroom. Sloppy Chalking and inferior repairs make the room look worse than it actually was. Bed was comfortable. The big day is taking place here and I could not ask for a better staff to work with or location. I live in San Francisco, CA and getting married across the country is a pain in the butt. Pam (the event planner) could not be better!!! Between my parents and I we send at least 2 random emails a week and she always manages to keep track of everything. Even when my mother has managed to make me crazy, pam calms me down and reminds me that I am the bride, not my mother. The food - I swear I was ready to lick the plate when we went for the tasting. The hubby tried the bleu cheese pork and I quote, "I didn't like pork before. Maybe my mother was just cooking it wrong the whole time." And the stuffed sugar snap peas....mmm, I am hungry just thinking about it. More to come as time goes on!! read more

We stayed here one night between a trip to Niagara Falls and catching a flight home the next afternoon. I found a great rate on Priceline and was surprised I got a hotel with the amount of stars this has for such a low price. It was easy to find off the interstate and check in was easy. We got a king sized bed with no problem, which I've had hotels give us crap about before when dealing with Priceline. Our room was clean - we got a kick out of a little sign under the bed that said "yes, we cleaned under here too!" The room was small though - the bathroom area especially. My husband and I couldn't brush our teeth at the same time. But the bed was huge and comfy, the desk was nice, and the TV was a great flat panel. We got a recommendation for pizza from the front desk worker as well as a 10% coupon off. The pizza was AWESOME and so we appreciated it! It is a kind of weird set up, with the lobby entrance on one side and the elevators and parking lot on the far other side. On the entrance with elevators, it was extremely dirty. There were leaves and debris all over the hallway inside the door. I noticed some workers going through but it was never remedied. They were doing renovating but it didn't involve this area. I thought it was a little sloppy. The pool area was similarly sloppy. The pool was also filled with debris and not inviting at all. It was a disappointment because the pool looked really cool, with an inside and outside area that you could swim in. The sleep quality was decent, though we did hear a lot of doors slamming. I didn't like the pillows at all and wish I would've asked for a different one from housekeeping because they were like nothing - totally flat. It was a nice touch that they have a place where you can print your boarding passes. They also have a free airport shuttle, which we used. The shuttle driver was very nice and friendly. Breakfast isn't free, and it's a bit pricey, but it was good. My husband got a made to order omelet and it was huge. I love that they had cream of wheat on the buffet! I wouldn't pay full price to stay here but I'm happy with the price we paid on priceline! read more

Disappointing stay! The pool was closed! We stood in line for over 15 min to check in. Our room bathroom had no soap(during Covid). We asked for extra towels and they told us to come and get them. In the front lobby there was a Starbucks sign- they do NOT a Starbucks! The rooms are outdated. The website should have stated clearly that the pool was closed. There was also only take-out breakfast. This hotel is in need of some TLC- we will NOT be returning! read more

Worst hotel experience ever. Made a reservation months ago for a baseball tournament. During a rain delay I called and asked to check in early...at 1:30pm. Was told absolutely not. After games and dinner, got to the hotel and was told I was being sent to another hotel.....they were overbooked. Reservations are on a "first come first serve" basis. The hotel I was sent to was 20 minutes away!! No apology given. Both my husband and I were hung up on by the management trying to get answers. ZERO customer service....not due to Covid! read more

I stayed at the Buffalo Marriott for business. It's about 20-25 mins from the airport and relatively 25 mins to our meeting. Very close to the border for limo service back to Toronto. It is not located close to downtown. I was advised it was one of the better hotel in Buffalo. I am glad I took their advice. The hotel is also within walking distance to the University of Buffalo close enough to the major shopping centre frequented by Canadians. I enjoyed my stay there. My meetings generally ran late and was able to pick up something to go from the restaurant and with enough choices on the menu there was no need to stop off at Rotten Ronnies.. I enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere in the morning and made sure I got my fill of breakfast especially their omelets..mmm mmm mmm. There is a gift shop that has various souvenirs a few of which I picked up. They also have a gym that is well kept which I was able to use on most of my stays...a good size and never felt cramped like some hotels I've stayed in. There's also a swimming pool. You have to be a Marriott Rewards club member to use their Wifi for free, and if you don't there is a business centre, but it's not open all night. Their club membership may transfer over as points to other affiliated programs. The front desk was very accommodating and helpful. From the great concierge service and shuttle service . If staying in Buffalo for business or even pleasure and need a hotel I would recommend them. read more

I called this hotel a few days ahead before booking my room. I asked them if their indoor pool was open, since it is December and I wanted to book the hotel for my birthday to have a spa night and pool fun night with my friends. The man on the phone told me "yes our pool is open from 6 am to 11 pm!!" I was thrilled and immediately booked the room. I booked a room with one kind size bed. Once arriving to the hotel, the room I had walked into didn't have one king size bed but two full size beds. After seeing this I was angry but let it slide. And I was so excited to swim in the pool with my friends but once we went to go check it out it had a sign on the door saying "pool closed." I then out of sadness and frustration went to the front desk where there was an older man who was not wearing his masks until I approached the desk. I told him I had been misinformed over the phone about the current pool situation. He then rudely talked back to me and kept giving me the worst tone for no reason. Horrible customer service. It's not my fault someone had lied to me on the phone!! These employees need to learn some common decency. No wonder it's a 3 star hotel. read more

We've stayed at this hotel many times to visit family, and it's been fine. But never ever again. There is an event or something here, and the music is so loud the windows and walls are vibrating. It is after 11pm!!!! Called the front desk several times and got the run around (oh? Really? It's loud). Finally spoke with the manager, and they offered NOT to turn the music down to a reasonable level, but a free breakfast. Really? Really? I truly wish I could post an audio file here. I don't stay at Marriot hotels often. I usually stick to the Hilton brands but everyone else was staying here so I just joined in. One of the reasons I stay at Hilton hotels is the beds. With the sleep number beds I can usually adjust to get a nice firm feel. That's what was severely missing at the Marriot. These beds were like mush. The pillows were also small for a double bed. So not so impressed with the sleeping accommodations. The desk area was a nice surprise. Beside having plenty of power outlets, there were inputs for the TV so you could attach other video devices if you had the right cable. There was also high speed wired internet (always preferred when I VPN) but I got no connection here. The wireless worked well enough both in the room and in the lobby. I have to drop a kind word to the staff as well. They are very pleasant and attentive and came to my rescue at 10:00 at night with a couple bottles of water when my throat turned into the Sahara desert. Hopefully Marriot will catch up with Hilton and get adjustable beds. With new beds and some super stuffed pillows this could easily move into a first choice stay. read more

Stayed here the past few days in a pinch. I booked on Hotwire and got placed here, and I am happy I did. The hotel is super clean and the staff is very friendly. I have never been checked into a hotel so quickly. The Rooms were decent sized and clean. The pool area was clean an as well although I did not have a chance to use it. The fitness center was actually very nice as well. I paid under $100 a night for this hotel and it was worth every penny. The place is huge, and very quite. I would recommend this place if your looking to stay in Amherst, its a good 20 minute drive from Buffalo. read more

My wife and I stayed at the Marriott for Valentine's Day. I was surprising her and honestly chose this hotel because of the proximity to work (we both had to work a few hours before celebrating) I arrived earlier than she and the staff was kind enough to oblige my request to give her a notecard I had made. When I got to the room I was pleasantly surprised! First and foremost it smelled so fresh! (Which I know may sound weird) Every inch of the room was pristine and very welcoming! We also enjoyed dinner at the blue fire grille (due to weather we weren't able to leave as I had wanted for dinner) the prices at the grille seemed a bit high but the food and service were well worth it! My only complaint was that our floor was entirely full of routy students enjoying the basketball games. They hooted and hollered during the games and even went up and down banging on doors. It was quite off putting but security came when we called... This wouldn't keep me from staying here again. Once the game was over they were quiet. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and we really enjoyed the whirpool & swimming pool. Thank you to everyone at the Marriott for making our stay effortless and a sheer pleasure! A hotel built in the 70's (I think), but, it feels up to date. Rooms are fairly standard for a Marriott, clean, warm and well appointed. There seems to be lots of action at this hotel, between conferences, hockey tournaments, cross border shoppers and flight crews. Everyone seems to have fun here. READ ALL REVIEWS OF THIS HOTEL BECAUSE I'M REPEATING WHAT OTHERS HAVE ALREADY COMPLAINED ABOUT. They clearly do not know how to correct ongoing problems. The manager keeps apologizing for the same issues over and over again. Please just fix the problems! On July 29th, I called the hotel several times on day of check in and nobody answered the phone. After 30 minutes I finally spoke to someone. When we checked into our room it was filthy. Pubic hair on toilet seat, crumbs on floor, dead fly on counter, and the shower curtain was moldy and torn. The towels had stains and hair on them. There was also hair in the sink. I was willing to let everything else go but the shower curtain was the final straw. I called the front desk from my room for 7 minutes. I finally had to call from my cell phone (4 minutes) to get someone to answer. I explained everything and the man was apologetic. I said that I wanted housekeeping to replace the curtain. After 40 minutes a young man showed up with appeared to be a shower cap or a bar of soap. I explained I needed a shower curtain but since he couldn't speak English he just stared at me. I called the front desk again for another 5 minutes but this time I used both the in room phone and my cell. I got a woman who honestly could have cared less about how mad I was. I explained everything to her and she never apologized or offered us another room. She literally said I'll send someone to replace it and hung up. I stood in that dirty room in disbelief that she just hung up like that. I shouldn't have been surprised because she was rude to the foreigners in front of me at check in. The young man from housekeeping did replace the curtain and liner. The whole process took 90 minutes from start to finish. The room was dirty plain and simple. I sent my husband and kids to dinner without me because I wanted to be there to make sure the job was fulfilled. What surprised was that at no point did the front desk help or a manager come and see the room. I asked but nobody offered to see it for themselves. If my employees weren't doing their jobs I would want to see it firsthand. We all woke up with red eyes from sleeping in the damp musty room. The a/c barely worked, water pressure was awful, and bathroom wallpaper was peeling away. This hotel needs serious updates and better customer service. This is not the standard in which other Marriott's are held. I love Marriott and will continue to stay at them worldwide but never this hotel again. read more

Room was clean, price was 159 dollars plus state tax 14 dollars ,which they called room tax, but the hotel add a occ tax 8 dollars, so instead of 159 the total was 180 dollars, when asked about the occ tax no one could explain it. I booked/checked in at this hotel on September 7, 2019 at about 6pm and left. Came back TO SLEEP at around 9:00pm. At approximately 12:40am while in a deep sleep the fire alarm goes off. I heard no sirens from fire department, I laid in bed hoping to ignore the alarm, but I couldn't and was angered as I did not smell any smoke and I heard no signs of panic either. I looked outside, same thing, no sense of urgency. So I jumped in the shower while the alarm continuously commanded that I evacuate. I dried myself off and still no sirens from fire department. I got dressed and went downstairs, to my surprise there was no fire, but the fire department was approaching (with loud sirens!!!). A few moments later the annoying alarm ends. We all go back to our rooms. About 5 minutes later I hear a really loud chirp, and it kept repeating every few minutes. Needless to say I asked for a refund as I left at 4am and I came here to sleep and only got two hours worth, and there was no fire to justify the alarm being disruptive. I was told I had to contact Priceline, So I did along with Marriott's website. Of course Marriott hasn't even issued a response let alone an apology which doesn't matter because an apology doesn't change the fact that I did not get what I paid for. So buyer beware. Their fire alarm is faulty, good luck getting a good night sleep OR a refund!!! UPDATE: Today's date is October 27, 2019 they're still giving me the run around about what happened and me getting a refund. read more

I wish there was a closer to or immediately in downtown location as I usually start and end my days over that way when I am working in Buffalo. I've never stayed here as a hotel guest but have been here several times for events and I always find it professional, clean and fun. Parking is easy and plentiful. I can usually get a spot near the entrance. There have been other hotels that I shudder when I hear about an event being held there, but this isn't one of them. We discovered bed bugs in our room on the first floor. When we alerted the front desk and spoke with Nona the on duty manager she was rude and disrespectful. Her first response over the phone when I called the front desk was, "we have not had a complaint of bed bugs in that room" and then she said since there was only one that I saw, it probably was not a bed bug because there are usually more" We asked to have a bellman come up to get our things so that we could leave. Nona offered us complimentary breakfast. We politely refused her offer. When we came down to the front desk we were waiting to speak to Nona while she waited on other guests. When she was done, she did not even come over to speak to us, she sent the bellman to hand us a note to speak to the General Manager in the morning. My husband and I felt extremely disrespected by her, in addition when I went to the desk to get a receipt she addressed me as "honey what can I do for you" Sorry Nona but I am not your honey.....I am Mrs. Snead thank you. I suggest Marriott send Nona back to Marriott school for some additional management training. Thank you to the courteous bellman who helped us get our things out of the room and who also confiscated the bed bug and took it down to the front desk to confirm to Nona that it was indeed a bed bug. There were two bellman on duty, we send our sincere thanks to the African American gentleman, I wish I had gotten his name. He was so kind, helpful and sympathetic that it was after midnight and we were leaving out to check into another nearby hotel, having a funeral to attend early the next morning. That gentleman deserves a promotion in my opinion maybe he should be managing and Nona should be carting luggage. read more

We stay at the Buffalo Marriott whenever we visit friends and family in the Northtowns. It is conveniently located. The rooms have been recently updated in the past year and are large, spacious and comfortable. The mattresses and pillows are consistently comfortable and, for me, a very impressive and important factor is the high quality of linens and towels. No well worn, threadbare towels or sheets here! The staff is always friendly and helpful. Starbucks is available in the lobby and the restaurant is convenient for friends and family to meet for breakfast or a snack. The rooms have small refrigerators for leftovers and drinks. And last but not least, free wifi and parking. Best of all the price is comparable or better to the 3 star hotels in the area (thanks Priceline!). read more

The rooms are nice, price okay, house cleaning great, gentleman who drives the shuttle amazing, bar is nice, customer service sucks! First gave me the wrong room, which is no problem - I just let them know nicely that the room they gave me was with 1 king instead of 2 doubles. Instead of apologizing, the guy behind the desk was annoyed and immediately accused me of not having that noted on my reservation - even though I did was was able to show it in my email. He just kept saying "I mean I will move you rooms, but there is no note on this account." Not a big deal, but just not friendly and put a bad taste in my mouth. Then I noticed that upon check-in, I had been charged $212 twice, even though the total to the room was $284.26 for the two nights and I had already been charged a $142.13 deposit. Again, I inquired as nicely as I could, but he was annoyed that I asked and kept telling me it was for incidentals. After as few minute, he started to understand why I was concerned and realized it didn't look right. When he asked his associate next to him for help, she was even more annoying, extremely rude, and even said she would be pissed if her email got lost while she helped me. It ended with her telling me that the accountants have gone for the day, won't be back until Monday, and I would have to wait until then. As of now, I have made a payment of $142.13 and have 3 pending charges on my credit card in the amount of $212.13, $212.13, $142.13. read more
