Chicken Wings
Jack S.

In town for travel and did a quick yelp search for the best wings in town, and this place repeatedly came up. I will start by saying I guess they are known for being "small style" wings which was new to me. They most definitely were small. I don't think I actually had a single normal sized wing. I guess they make up for that with the price being lower, I got 16 wings for $17.89, the bbq place a couple blocks away I was debating on getting was 12 for $24. But again these were shrimps and if I'm being honest o would probably not go out of my way to order again. The hot sauce was flavorful but i definitely would say "hot"

We love coming here especially when school is out lol. We love the food and drinks. Service was well. We were here 2 weeks in a row

Terrible.

Wings are smaller than your fingers. Hot honey mustard is just buffalo sauce and honey mustard mixed other. Fries are insanely salty. Drinks ok. Buffalo chicken dip decent. Poor performance

Strawberry Margarita

My friends and I came here on a Friday afternoon for an early dinner and drinks. While the place was busy, we did not wait long to find a table (be warned it is seat yourself). That was probably the quickest part about the service. It took awhile for someone to come to our table to take our orders, it took even longer for our drinks to come out, and it took forever to pay. I do not know if it was the fact that they were so busy (it was Friday of parent's weekend), or if he was just forgetful. My friends and I paid with bama cash, meaning he took our phones. This was fine with us, but after 15 minutes, we had to track him down to get our phones back. This is the biggest reason for my lack of stars: inconsistent service. That all said, once we got our orders, they were great! We took advantage of the Friday drink deals and happy hour deals, so two of us were drinking $7 30oz strawberry margaritas, and another friend was drinking $2 Mexican beers. For food, we split an order of chicken nachos and fried pickles with the table. All things tasted great and we had a great time! We just wished we were better taken care of by our waiter. We will be back? Yes. Is this a place I would ever bring my family to or go if I am in a rush, absolutely not.

Hot Fingers & Onion Rings

All I can do is shake my head at my most recent experience. It was simply the worst service I've ever received. The service was slow and inconsistent. After we found our seats, our server came to us after about 10 minutes. All the servers were in booty shorts/short skirts and crop tops/cut Buffalo Phil's shirts. At a point, I saw my server's butt cheeks. They also were on their phones and talking to each other instead of getting people's orders. Our server eventually greeted us and took our drink order. We told her we needed a few minutes to look over the menu before ordering and she gave us 10. After ordering, our food came out in a decent amount of time but the server did not check on us for 30 minutes. My husband and I both needed refills but she was too busy on her phone and playing with shirts/her coworkers to notice. The food was mediocre at best. I had the hot fingers. They were smothered in sauce. I like hot things but those tenders were all heat and no flavor. I was unimpressed. The onion rings I had were good. I won't be back. I understand this is a restaurant on the strip and most of the servers are young & in college. However, it was completely unprofessional. Buffalo Phil's has seen better days.

Fun casual dining on the strip. You get exactly what you need to go with I've cold beer. I tried the grown up grilled cheese. Massive buffalo chicken tender sandwich. Very tasty and at $11 it was reasonably priced..

While taking my stepson on a prospective student tour at the University of Alabama, we wanted to find a place to eat close to campus. Buffalo Phil's is located right on "The Strip" on the outskirts of the school. Since this was just after graduation, the town and the restaurant was very quiet. This looks like a fun place for students and parents to get some food. We ordered an appetizer of fries with queso and bacon which was very good. I had a cheesesteak and we all had some wings. The food was great as was the nice, cold 30oz Yingling! Affordable prices which you would expect in a college town and very friendly service. Roll Tide!!

Grilled chicken Caesar salad...loved all the shaved parmesan

Stopped in here during a busy weekend on campus. Know that this is what it is, it's not a four star dining experience but I gave it four stars anyway because it does what it does well. Casual laid back, fun atmosphere, variety of drinks. Can come as college kids or with the family. Variety of menu items, ranging from good old not so good for you food but also has a variety of salads and grilled chicken options. Enjoyed everything our table ordered and would definitely stop back in next time on campus. Also has outdoor patio seating when the weather is nice.

The food and service has always been good here. My only complaint would be the cheese sticks aren't that good. I've definitely had better at other places. Other than that, the food is good. We have been there several times.

My favorite place to grab a bite!!!!! I absolutely love this spot. The service is amazing, as well as the menu! The ambience is always a down home family vibe and everyone knows your name when they see you walk in!

Great place, excellent wings! Great atmosphere I'm sure it is really fun in game days. Only thing bad is the fan flickering with the lights.

I love the place; always good food and great atmosphere. Downsides: long wait on main eating times, poor service on semi busy nights.

If you know downtown Tuscaloosa, you know getting into Urban Bar & Kitchen usually requires…read morepatience--and a willingness to stand around waiting for the doors to open. But spring break week flipped the script in the best way possible. Tonight, my wife and I met up with some good friends for a pre-retirement dinner, and with the college crowd scattered to the beaches, downtown felt like it belonged to us "seasoned locals" again. No lines, no crowds--just a quick call ahead and we were seated within minutes. That alone felt like a win. We started things off with the fried green tomatoes--a true Southern delicacy and, let's be honest, acid reflux's favorite dance partner. Worth it? Absolutely. These were hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The kind of dish that would make Grandma nod in approval. No shortcuts, just done right. For the entrée, I went with the UBK Pasta--blackened chicken, sausage, and shrimp tossed with corkscrew pasta probably crafted in a cast iron skillet. It came out hot and packed with flavor, carrying just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting without overwhelming the dish. Exactly how I like it. My wife stuck with a proven winner: the shrimp & grits. She's had it before, and once again, it delivered. Consistency matters, and this dish continues to hit the mark every time. Now, not everything was quite as smooth. Our waitress wasn't exactly channeling that warm Southern hospitality you hope for. Let's just say she wasn't "Miss Dolly" serving smiles with a side of charm. The service leaned a bit on the impatient side--subtle (and not-so-subtle) hints that our time at the table was up, including clearing drinks before we were even finished. At one point I joked about going to the restroom but worried I might come back to find my chair gone. Still, when the food is this good, it carries the experience. Urban Bar & Kitchen continues to deliver where it matters most--on the plate. The atmosphere was relaxed thanks to spring break timing, the food was as strong as ever, and the company made it even better. As for the service... maybe she was just ready for her own spring break reunion. Happens to the best of us. Final takeaway: Go for the food--it's consistently excellent. And if you can catch a quieter night like this one, even better.

The wait for our party of 5 wasn't too long and we were seated in a big booth near the bar. Very nice decor, classy but comfortable. All of the servers and staff were super friendly and offered a nice selection of local brews and tasty margaritas. Several of us had the redfish special which was just outstanding! All in all, and outstanding experience. Definitely a repeater for us when next we're in town.

Wife wanted a salad and potato skins so went with the wedge which came chopped so more of a chopped salad than a wedge and it was fine. Nothing spectacular. Who potato skins were reminiscent of some frozen ones you heat in the oven. Didn't seem fresh at all. The bacon wasn't that great really and the cheeses was cheese. All in all edible but not enjoyable. I went with the bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes with gravy and a side of Mac and cheese. I'll start with the Mac. It was horrible. Sorry don't mean to be a downer but wasn't good at all. The mashed and gravy a big nope. The potatoes weren't all that good. It was like eating a plat of spackle. And the gravy was horrendous. Made bad potato's worse. The meatloaf was ok. Kind of like cafeteria meatloaf. I did eat it but wasn't thrilled. Again not a fan of that bacon so ditched that after one bite. Personally I would not go back and wife agreed. Maybe we got the wrong items but nothing was good.

The atmosphere is cute - the menu is limited (1 burger, 3 sandwiches, 2 or 3 flatbreads and 2 salads). We ordered: 1 - the double cheeseburger, boring. Lots of meet but not much in the way of toppings. The pickle slice was nice. 2 - BLT, boring. Needs a sauce, even mayo. Would love to see palmetto cheese or avocado or cheddar. Spring mix is the wrong choice in lettuce as well. It turns into mush with the tomato. Nothing memorable. 3 - The Yardhouse, awkward. It was hard to eat with large chicken "cubes" and lots of white bbq sauce. Either keeping the chicken whole or using a shredded chicken would be better. 4 - Fries. 1 order would have been plenty to share among 3 people. They were the best part of the meal and came with a fry sauce. Another strike is that they don't brew their own tea. We're in the Deep South... some days the best thing we've got is fresh brewed tea at every turn. This was a nope... but on top of that the carbonation was "off" in the soda machine too. Good thing drinks are only $2.
