If I could give negative stars I would. I was terribly disappointed tonight when I brought my out of town family tonight. We have been in this restaurant several times, I will never return and will be letting everyone know the way we were treated. My son is an 8 year old who has autism and we have visited this place and other places in the area, brought in food for him due to him being so picky. It makes for a nicer time for us and the other people around us. First they took us down where no one was sitting in an area away from everyone else. There were tons of other spots available in the main dinning area. Then the waitress comes and tells us that her manager sent her over to tell us we can't bring in outside to food due to health code violations. Mind you this was a McDonald's happy meal. I explained to her that I have done this several times and it has never been an issue. I didn't understand what the difference was for any other parent bringing in food for their small child. She apologized and said she too has an autistic child and understands. We said if the health inspector comes in we will pay the fine and or explain the situation. But again we have been here several times and never once has it been an issue. Shortly after she walks away the manager comes down rudely informs us of the same thing the waitress did about the food for my son. I was so embarrassed and felt belittled the way the manager spoke to me. Luckily my son had no idea what was going on. He sat there eating him food watch his table with his headphones. Then my step Dad over hears the waitress (after hugging me because I was in tears because of the manager) went up and said it was a shit show down there. I have never in all my years walked out of a restaurant. I was so sick to my stomach. I totally understand the rules. But why has it never been said before? I also didn't appreciate the way we were treated like we were not wanted in their restaurant. This is a restaurant we always bring our out of town guests and recommend it to other people because the food and service has always been great. But this has taken all of that away. The owner should be ashamed of his employees. There are better ways to handle situations and this was not the way to handle this one. I recommend if your child has special needs not take them here and just find a different place to enjoy a family dinner. read more

Unfortunately we have tried this place more than a few times. The foods okay lots of parking drinks are hood but staff is horrid. We went in and went to sit at a high top in the bar area where we've sat before the 2 of us and we've seen other pairs ((2 people) sitting as well before. All of a sudden this half empty place tells us we can't sot there as it's for bigger groups. The place was half empty and still we couldn't sit there. We were put in a corner in side area where we didn't want to sit. We left. If your place is half empty why are you acting line your super busy. We will not go back. The best part of this place is the people. The food is good the atmosphere is even better.

Visited for lunch today with my wife and our two kids. We've been here many times over the years but this was not great. I ordered the Rueben, I could only muster a few bites. The meat was dry and tasted "off". Fries were over cooked and oily. My daughter had the adult grilled cheese. She said it wasn't even warm but nearing room temp. She barely ate any of it. Cheese curds were lackluster, grease bomb and most were just shells with no cheese (too long on the fryer). $3 for a pop is crazy. $5 to add chicken to a Caesar salad is robbery. I'm from the South and never had a cheese curd in my life. In Minnesota on business and went to Buffalo Tap to watch Monday night football. Saw cheese curds on the menu and thought what the hell. I'm here to tell ya they were outstanding. Absolutely unbelievable. I've never had Elk either so went with the Elk Burger. It was incredible. Oh yeah, the beers were super ice cold. We usually get the burgers and fries and have no complaints. Staff was friendly and courteous. My only complaint is it smells badly in there because the carpet is well past the time of replacement. It's either the spilled beer on the carpet or combination of that and spilled food not cleaned up. The smell was overwhelming to the guests we brought with us. I would like to share the horrible experience we had at this restaurant. I am infuriated at the way we were treated. My husband and I are out in Minnesota visiting my daughter, her husband and our 8 year old grandson who has autism. Prior to arriving at the restaurant, we stopped at McDonalds down the street to get a Happy Meal for our grandson because he has certain things that he will eat. And anyone who has an autistic child knows that routine is essential to them. They need routine to feel safe. My daughter has done this many times at this restaurant and others with with no problem. But first thing, we were walked through the main dining area to a room of tables that were empty and were seated in there. I thought it odd when there were plenty of tables in the main room. The next thing we know, the waitress is telling us that her manager sent her in to tell us that he can't eat the McDonald's food there. It was against policy. We explained that he has autism and this is what he will eat. And that this is not their first time bringing food for him to this very restaurant. I always see parents bringing food and snacks for their kids to appease them. What's the big deal? Next thing we know the manager comes to our table and started in again. He went on that we had to get rid of the food. (During all of this our grandson was sitting there quietly eating watching his tablet and wearing his headphones) Thank God he was unaware of any of this. After the manager and waitress walked away my husband overheard the waitress tell another waitress "That's a shitshow in there". What a great place! So many options and most of them can be made gluten free as well. We love this place, and family friendly too!!

We went in on a busy Saturday night, and got a table really quickly, despite the fact that they were crazy busy. The server was at the table immediately - took our drink order, and suggested tater kegs or cheese curds as a starter, and we were off to a great start. Wow - the cheese curds were piping hot, and perfectly cooked! They were fantastic - I'd go back just for those! We both ordered burgers, and we weren't disappointed in the least. Mine was an El Diablo burger, and it had jalapeño bacon, pepper Jack cheese, and spicy bbq sauce. Damn tasty, and huge! The server checked on us often, we had refills before we asked for them, and we really enjoyed the entire experience. I really enjoyed this place! It has very cold beer and great food. If you are looking for a place to watch a sports game, I recommend here. This place was pretty busy even though we got there around 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon. The menu is extensive so there's definitely something for everyone. The atmosphere is a bit weird as there are different rooms divided by walls, which made it seemed crowded and not spacious. But thumbs up for TVs in every room. The service was decent - they seemed to be busy and getting our refills took awhile. We started off with the "spicy" cheese curds. They claimed, which was printed on the menu, that it is the worlds best cheese curds. I begged to differ. It was good, but I had better ones elsewhere. We both ordered the bison juicy Lucy's. The bison meat was huge, 1/3 I think. It was big that I think the cheese inside did not "cook" the way a juicy Lucy should. Instead of the cheese oozing out, it was hardened inside the meat. Also, I think it was a bit over cooked as it was borderline dry that I had to take a sip of drink after each bite. It also lacked seasoning. But otherwise I would try the bison burger again - the meat would be amazing with more seasoning and less cooking time. Overall, a decent experience. My family loves this place! My son is gluten free and it's so wonderful to be able to go somewhere and feel like a "normal" restaurant/bar but also know that they take gf food seriously. They even serve Gf food on blue plates and have a designated gf fryer. For non gf we like the teriyaki wings (they have lots of sauce options!) and the wraps. I am disappointed by the buffalo sauces they have but that's pretty minor. Also the salads are pretty "blah". Overall, it's our go-to restaurant! read more

I've been going to The Buffalo Tap since I was a kid. The views are great as the building is situated right along side the credit river so depending on where you sit the views can be fantastic. Even if you don't have a river view table, the ambiance definitely has a homey feel to it and makes you feel comfortable. Awesome place to eat! HUGE menu with something for everyone. We've had the fish fry, burgers, fried chicken, and the parmesan crusted patty melt. My husband always orders the parmesan crusted chicken sandwich or french dip which is amazing. I would say it's a little more spendy than some other places for a burger, but you definitely get your money's worth here. The fried pickle spears and cheese curds are awesome too. We have been to Buffalo Tap quite a few times now, and haven't been disappointed yet. The service is always good for it being such a busy place. We like to take our family and friends here to try a juicy lucy since it's close to our house. Everyone we have taken here has loved the food. If there's anything I would change it would be to maybe update the restaurant itself. The carpet or something has a strong odor. One of the better choices for roadside bar & grill-style food south of the cities. The lot and seating can get a bit cramped at peak times, but for good reason. Everything I've tried here throughout my years of visiting has been pretty good - from the juicy lucy burgers and hoagie sandwiches to the fish fry dinners. I love their Spicy Jack Parmesan Grilled Chicken Melt though! They also have good, local beers on tap and good apps. Wow. I wish I would have taken photos of the feast we had last night. A neighbor recommended we try Buffalo Tap and said their menu was huge and they weren't kidding. Tons of selections so you could be hungry for just about anything when you go here and find something to eat. Firstly, we ordered for pick up and the food was ready right on time. They have cones and signs to direct you to the pick up spot and an employee comes out to you. The person who helped us had hustle! I appreciated that. We had our food within two minutes of pulling up and were on our way. We both wanted to try burgers and would recommend them to other burger lovers. We each had a California burger, one just also came with bacon and cheese and the other one didn't. My husband also ordered cheese curd and loaded wedges appetizers. The loaded wedges were HUGE. Next time we would just sub the French fries burger sides for wedges because we couldn't get through everything. Lastly, there was a mistake with our order. My husband ordered a Caesar side salad but got French fries. We checked the bill and the salad was on there which was an extra charge. My husband called the restaurant back and they handed him off to a manager right away who said "We want it to be perfect every time." The food here is really good. The burger I had last night was top notch. The service is also really good. Their beer prices are outrageously expensive. $15 for a 16 oz pour of a craft beer that I can can get a four pack of for the same price. This is definitely a local favorite for good reason. They're well known for the jucy lucys and they have so many to choose from. They do have a menu warning to allow for extra time, so don't go if you're in a rush; and it's worth it. The burgers, both regular and lucys, have great flavor. The cheese curds are a must. I love the jalapeño ones; if I go with a group we like to get one of each. Another favorite is the Parmesan crusted French dip. It's messy, which means it's delicious haha Friday fish fry is amazing and worth the Friday dinner rush wait. My latest favorite though is their buffalo chicken salad. For such a simple menu item so many places make such a bland one but Buffalo Taps sauce must make this one the winner. Good sized portion; I can usually make at least 2 meals out of it. Really I haven't had anything here I don't like; and if you can get there early enough for happy hour it's totally worth it. Staff is great, and the management is top notch. read more
