**BEFORE READING THIS REVIEW THIS WAS IN NO WAY THE SERVERS FAULT** The poor girl was the bartender, server, host and food runner all at once on a day where B Dubs is always busy (BOGO)...but whoever the manager on shift was should be fired immediately. They had one server making every drink, taking every order, running all the food/drinks + helping with take out orders.. hell they might've had her back there cooking too and NOBODY came to help her. I timed 46 minutes to get 15 wings and a water... Please add 15 minutes to that time because it was taking so long I finally decided to start timing how long all this would take. Our server was so nice, friendly and kept her composure in extremely difficult circumstances. She was excellent!! Ever since Kevin (the old owner) passed away this place has completely fell apart. Management is horrid. To leave ONE person to man the whole front of the restaurant and then to come out look around MULTIPLE times and not even run food or drinks is INSANE. This place will be closed down in no time

No sports TV. No bartender. No food. No service.

Thankfully, we stumbled upon Joe Theismann's Restaurant because there was a heat wave, and we didn't want to spend any more time outside than necessary. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted, seated right away, and given menus. Our waitress introduced herself, offered recommendations for appetizers and entrées, and even convinced us to try one of their signature drinks. We started with the Broiled Chesapeake Crab Dip, and it was really tasty. It was rich and cheesy, with generous chunks of crab throughout. It was so good that we easily could have ordered another bowl! For our entrée, we shared the Chicken Louisiana. It had chicken, sausage, and shrimp with peppers and onions in a Cajun sauce served over rice. Now this dish was really delicious. It arrived hot and tasted freshly made to order. We even noticed the table next to us ordered the same thing. I can't remember the exact name of the martini I ordered, but it was very light and refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day. The restaurant itself is spacious, with a large bar, plenty of seating, and TVs throughout. Overall, we had a good dining experience. Whenever we're back in the D.C. area, we'll definitely make a point to stop by again.

The layout kinda reminds me of Toki Underground on H St. The ambiance was that of a regular bar, but with Chicago sports teams all over the ceiling & walls. I must say the sandwich was meh mainly due to the giardiniera not being spicy nor oily (it was vinegary but not truly pickled then sat in oil at the minimum for the classic Chicago styled giardiniera), and the au ju/ seasoned beef gravy tasted like regular cheap beef broth, not the unique flavor it's most notably known for. The bread was not the correct French roll typically used for the sandwich to soak up the juices. I noticed that there was no option to make it an "Italian beef combination sandwich" to add an Italian sausage link. It also was not double dipped in the au ju/ seasoned beef gravy. The sandwich tasted nothing like the original Chicago Italian beef sandwich. It was a bit of a let down because I had high hopes, but I also understand that sometimes, things will not taste the same outside of the place/ region it originated at. The only things I did like was how toasty/ fresh the roll was despite it not being the classic French roll. While I think the place is pretty okay, I do hope they can attempt to perfect the sandwich or at least come much closer to having it being truly Chicago styled. As someone with deep Chicago roots, I was disappointed and it felt like low-effort with failure to tap into potential they know is there.

Food is OK quality and prices are reasonable if not inexpensive on their specials, like the steak and ribs for only $25. Good flavor and cooked ok but a nice combo for the price. Service is OK with some wait staff being more efficient than others. There were some who knew their customers by name and took time out to talk with them but that slowed down service a little for the rest of us. Nothing too bad but you might wait a bit for refills or something you need after your food or drinks arrive. We had cool fries and it took a bit for the staff to come back to our table to check in the dining room. Similar response time for wait staff outside when we needed condiments that were ordered but didn't come out with our entrees. Cigar menu is an ok selection where there is something for everyone; however, our experience was the place ran out of the first four cigars we selected and each time the wait staff had to come back to our table to tell us they were out of that cigar. Wait staff didn't know what cigars were in stock and which they were out of. Overall, very good experience for both inside the dining area and outside where you can smoke. Recommend The Bungalow Lakehouse as it is a good experience and has a variety of experience options.

The choices were: outside, the sports bar, or the dining room. We chose the dining room. A large group of people was sitting at a table. We were given a booth by the window and right by the server's station. Looking over the menu at home, we both decided that we would get a bacon cheeseburger. The entrees seemed, to us, to be too filling. The bacon cheeseburger consists of: "100% angus burger, apple-wood smoked bacon, vermont white cheddar, canadian cheddar, sliced tomato, and crispy leaf lettuce". We both ordered it cooked medium. The dish comes with fries. To drink, I had ginger ale while my husband had a Heineken 00. Our server was friendly and efficient. He made a mistake, bringing my husband a Coke instead of the beer. My husband corrected him. He apologized and retrieved the correct drink. The burger was dry and overcooked. It was more on the medium well side. In one way, I didn't mind that as I didn't end up with greasy hands or a burger that falls apart. The bacon and the cheese provided some relief from the dryness. The fries came out hot, which we appreciated. All in all, it was an OK experience; we would consider going again sometime.

For my entrée, I ordered the crab cake with fries and a small side of coleslaw. Despite its smaller size, the crab cake was surprisingly good. It had more crab than filling, which is exactly how I like my crab cakes. I just wish the portion had been a little bigger. The fries were pretty standard. nothing particularly memorable. and unfortunately, I didn't care for the coleslaw at all.
