My recent visit to Buffalo Wild Wings during happy hour was unfortunately a bit of a mixed experience. When I arrived, the restaurant was not very busy, yet it took about 15 minutes before anyone came to take my drink order. I noticed several staff members gathered in groups while only a few appeared to be actively tending to tables. Kevin was my server, and he was genuinely polite and apologetic throughout the visit. However, it seemed like he may have been assigned too many tables spread across the dining area, which likely contributed to the delays in service as the happy hour crowd gradually started filtering in. I ordered a dip appetizer that arrived topped with bacon pieces, something I wasn't aware came with the dish. I politely asked if it could be remade, and Kevin handled the situation kindly and professionally without hesitation. Shortly afterward, my wings arrived. Presentation-wise, they looked great and were nicely coated in sauce, but unfortunately the wings themselves were barely warm when I bit into them. Since I had already sent one item back, I honestly felt awkward asking for the wings to be remade as well. After finishing my meal, I waited quite a while for a refill, a check-in, or even the opportunity to ask for my tab. Since I was dining alone, I didn't want to simply leave the table unattended, but eventually I had to walk to the front to cash out. Michelle, who I believe may have been the manager, stepped in and was very helpful during checkout. I had overheard another guest being told the restaurant was not participating in the Nurses Week discount, but Michelle kindly clarified that they actually were honoring it. As a nurse, I appreciated that gesture and was relieved not to pay full price for what felt like a fairly mediocre dining experience overall. I do think there is room for improvement when it comes to customer service and floor management at this location. Kevin himself was pleasant, but whether due to being new or simply spread too thin, the service experience suffered from long wait times and lack of attentiveness. That can become frustrating for customers who are waiting on food, refills, or simply trying to check out. While this visit was a miss for me personally, I won't hold one experience against the entire chain. This Mission Valley location likely sees a high volume of customers, so service may vary depending on timing and staffing. If you're craving wings and don't mind a little unpredictability with the experience, this location may still work for you.

Below average experience at Buffalo Wild Wings. I'm not much of a chain eater, and I haven't been here in many years and I realized why. Food was sub par, and extremely overpriced. The service was fast, drinks were fast and our waitress was good. It was busy on and off, Games on so many screens which makes the place

First timer here! I was surprised to see that there were more than just wings on the menu, and I'm more of a chicken strip girlie than anything, so that's what I ended up ordering. They were fine. We also ordered an appetizer platter thing that had mozzarella sticks, onion rings, pretzel bun things, and fried pickles. Everything was fine. It's what you'd expect from a chain restaurant. Like nothing was soooooo amazing, but it definitely wasn't horrible. Everything was just "fine" food wise. There are other things to brag about though, like the cleanliness of the restaurant was good, the attentiveness of our server, the fact that there's such a big parking lot. I also like that they had a variety of sauces to choose from. It's the kind of place where I'll go if someone invites me, but I probably wouldn't offer it as a suggestion on my own.

Hmmm reviews are not terrific here but wanted bar food before a movie and I thought this place was good enough. I ordered the Sampler Appetizer and the Mozzarella Sticks, Buffalo Wings, Pretzel Bites with their sauces delivered. Onion Rings could improve. My friend thought the Lemon Pepper was dry, the fries meh but he did enjoy the Patty Melt Smashed Burger. We did like the ambience and the service was good. I would come again if I'm in the mood for bar type food and would order their Buffalo Wings.

Got a table for two and was seated quickly however no one came to wait our table we waited over 20 minutes and no one came to ask us what we wanted to drink or order, no apologies or any communication at all with us. There were a few customers who came in after us and got waited within minutes. There would be more grace if it was busy however it was not busy and there were multiple workers walking by without any sense of urgency. We left after 30 minutes of waiting. We love buffalo wild wings but we will not be returning back again.

Much hast changed with the speed of service at this place ordered my food before opening. Wasn't ready on time I had another extra ten min wait after being 5 mins late. Got the boneless wings they are salty and hard and a chicken Philly beer cheese sandwhich also not great really had no flavor but cheese no onion taste or bell peppers and the bread felt like a hotdog bun. I went here because I had a reward deal of spen 15 dollars and get a free sandwich, the fries were ok so there's that and the carrots and celery were cool. It just open and had 2 guest and me just so you can see how busy they were. I guess eat in and you food will come out at a reasonable time.

You can never go wrong with good chicken wings, beer and friends when watching your favorite game. This bww is probably my favorite since it's a central location with lots of parking. It's always packed since they have so many tv screens. My favorite flavors: Lemon pepper Parmesan garlic Daytona

    Jason W.

This is an impressively large BWW and the food is on par with other locations. Even though they seem adequately staffed, the service is slow and unorganized. The staff doesn't work together and no one is coordinating things. If you can look past the lackluster service, you might want to give this place a try anyway.

Raw chicken strips. Gotta be careful guys

I'm giving a 3 star review because the staff was friendly. When you order a kids meal, it's very important to make sure the food is cooked. Thank god my wife cut the chicken to check it out before feeding my 1 year old. This could have been very bad.

We were sitting against the window at the high top wraparound bar tables (feels like an extension of the bar), so the bar is easy to order from and was our go to as soon as we arrived. The bartender took our order, but was standoffish as if we were doing something foreign or a big "no no". Finally the server in charge of our area told us that the bartenders are in charge of the bar and there are other servers for all the other tables/zones. If we were told that from the beginning, we would have made sure to follow the order of the place and order from the correct server. A few of us truly felt bad, but now we know when we go in next time what to expect. Barleymash is always a great time, so we always want to make sure we are doing it right! I truly recommend sitting anywhere else but that window/wall on a packed night, but sometimes you have to deal with what you are lucky enough to get!

There's also a small arcade room with some classic coin machines to have a bit of fun. Food was quite good, but the portion sizes are enormous. If you eat regular portion sizes, the entree or sandwich is probably enough food. Do NOT order two sides unless your appetite is enormous or you can take home leftovers. You'd just waste food otherwise. Drinks were also delicious, waitress was kind. Our bartender Mike was great, and may Mai Thai ($14) defiantly did what it needed to do. It was sweet, strong and served with the cutest bear-shaped glass with a beautiful purple flower on top. One drink had a girl feeling tipsy. We ordered from the late-night "midnight Bites" menu, which was the only thing we could choose from at the hour of our visit. Everything we selected was really good. Wed got the Frito Pie ($12), Chicken thigh tenders ($7), and Tots ($7). The frito pie presentation was my second favorite part (after the bear glass drink), It came in a all-clad style bowl with the chip bag cut open inside, loaded with Texas-style chilli, melted nacho cheese, and shredded cheese. It was so good I even started adding tots in there too. The tots and Thigh tenders had the perfect crisp! They have sweet and sour chili sauce for dipping with the chicken which was fab! The retro decor made the place even better. I loved seeing the old Blockbuster VHS tapes and music cassettes displayed around the bar. My little eye also spot the Dallas Cowboys flag! Texas energy is definitely in the house. There's also a small arcade area in the back, and my eyes instantly lit up seeing PAC-Man. We didn't get to fully explore the game room because we were trying to make it to Ghirardelli Ice cream & Chocolate shop for dessert before they closed at midnight too. Thankfully everything worked out perfectly since our car was parked right in front of Ghirardelli. NO military discount was honored here even though the owner is a veteran, but overall I still had a really good experience and would definitely come back whenever I'm in the Gaslamp district in SD, Cali. (Oops posted it on a smoke shop in Texas. This review was meant to be shared here) Update: Response to owner: Joe V. That was the best response from any owner I have ever received!!! When I entered the restaurant around 7:00 PM, I was stopped and questioned extensively by security regarding my service animal. Rather than being asked the limited ADA-compliant questions permitted by law, the interaction became prolonged and uncomfortable while staff repeatedly attempted to determine whether my dog was a "real" service animal or simply an emotional support animal. I remained waiting at the entrance while this was repeatedly discussed back and forth. What made the situation especially humiliating was that another patron openly laughed at me during the interaction while walking outside for a cigarette. I later realized this same patron had her own dog inside the establishment in a stroller the entire time. Staff members appeared very familiar and comfortable with her, and multiple employees, including my waitress- referred to her as a "regular." Although her dog was eventually moved to the patio area, the contrast in how the situations were handled made me feel singled out, embarrassed, and unfairly scrutinized. I later spoke with management in hopes of resolving the matter respectfully. During that conversation, I was surprised and concerned to hear that neither management nor staff were familiar with psychiatric service animals or their protections under the ADA. Psychiatric service animals are legally recognized service animals when trained to perform disability-related tasks, and this lack of awareness was deeply concerning, especially in a city like San Diego with a large disabled and veteran community. I fully understand that businesses are allowed to ask limited ADA-compliant questions regarding service animals, and I also understand that many establishments have dealt with individuals falsely claiming pets as service animals. However, there is a significant difference between appropriately verifying a service animal and making a disabled customer feel publicly interrogated and humiliated. The overall handling of this interaction lacked professionalism, sensitivity, and basic understanding of ADA service animal protections. No customer should feel mocked, scrutinized, or publicly embarrassed simply for entering a restaurant with a legitimate service animal. I sincerely hope this situation can serve as an opportunity for additional ADA education and proper service animal training for staff moving forward so that other disabled guests do not experience similar treatment. I would appreciate being informed of any steps the restaurant intends to take regarding ADA compliance and staff training before I determine how I would like to proceed further. Thank you for your time and attention.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by an uplifting open-air environment, truly a breath of fresh air that felt like stepping onto the observation deck of the USS Enterprise. The amazing views of the bay were nothing short of spectacular, bringing a serene beauty that rivals the finest star systems. Over the years, my wife, her girlfriend, and I have become frequent travelers to this culinary haven, beaming back for nearly 15 years--a testament to its enduring allure. The selection of IPAs and mixed drinks is impressive, catering to even the most discerning palates in the galaxy. The choices are vast enough to satisfy anyone embarking on this flavor exploration, whether you prefer a refreshing drink to toast a successful mission or something bolder, like a phaser on stun! The menu features a delightful array of options, including fresh salads, tantalizing finger foods, and, of course, their famed burgers. My wife's enthusiasm for the offerings has always been infectious, and during this visit, she and her girlfriend were on a culinary adventure of their own, indulging in the flavors that have made Nicky Rottens a local favorite. The burgers are truly out of this world--juicy, flavorful, and expertly crafted to ensure a warp-speed experience with every bite. You'll find that each dish is prepared with precision, as if overseen by a skilled chef with the abilities of a Vulcan and the passion of a true culinary Starfleet officer. In conclusion, Nicky Rottens is a prime destination for anyone seeking a vibrant atmosphere, stunning views, and a solid meal. I can confidently say that if you ever find yourself in Coronado, this establishment is a must-visit. After all, it's just one small step for man, and one giant leap into deliciousness!
