very good variety of normal slices but also more fun ones like the sports bar pie. buffalo wings are decent size without being too greasy

As usual Pizzeria Luigi delivered the goods. This time was their delicious sausage roll. I added mushrooms, caramelized onions and green bell peppers, so good. I love how their crust is slightly crisp but also chewy. As you can see from the photo, it's really girthy. At least 2 meals for me. Additionally, I ordered the mister a cheese and sausage pie. It was decent but I thought given the price the toppings were on the chintzy side. I think the sausage roll or even their calzone is a better value to be honest. Ciao for now Luigi!

Many choices of New York style pizza. All available in slices! Which means I can get 5 different flavors if I want to. They also have beers on tap. The tall tables and stools and some bench style seatings are available inside and outside. Make your order at the counter and bring them to your seat. I enjoy the laid-back setting and this is a great spot to catch up over drinks with friends

I had this huge craving for pizza BAD. So I stopped by Luigi's. But man...I had a very mid pizza here. Mid as in, the marinara didn't have much to it, the crust was inedible, and overall had lacked in flavor. I got two slices, cheese and pepperoni. They reheat the slices in the oven but it seemed like the pies they had out were old, dried out almost. The cheese melted when they reheated, however it felt tasted somewhat stale and lacked depth. I felt really disappointed that I was let down by two slices of pizza. I came here with a small group on a weekday evening, but maybe if they had fresher pies out that evening, I would've had a better experience. Although service was nice, quick and easy, pizza was meh at most. Maybe another time though, Luigi's...

Always good pizza and the crew always seems to be having fun. They are open late (thank you) and the pizza is darn good

Honestly, one of my favorite pizza places in San Diego. I get it, it might NOT be the best pizza ever, compared to pizzas in New York or Chicago, or even Boston. However, it's simple and delicious. It's New York style pizza, crispy & thin, but with sexier toppings. My go to is BBQ Chicken, but we really like Capone as well. Capone is with ricotta and sausage. Service is always fast and friendly, pretty much all you would need in a pizza shop. I would def recommend stopping by and grabbing a slice!

I really was looking forward to giving this place a try. Upon walking up to the restaurant, I noticed customers were sitting outside. The moment we opened the door into the restaurant, we were greeted with VERY loud heavy metal music and the Padres game on their TV with the volume set to be louder than the music. It was no wonder why all the customers were sitting outside. No regard for the costumers whatsoever. We walk in to an empty restaurant with a worker standing behind a glass counter featuring some of their pizzas that, I'm assuming you can buy by the slice. On the pizzas were flies! I pointed it out to my husband in hopes he'd get the hint to leave but their employee was standing there staring at us... waiting to take our order. If it would have been up to me, I would have left as I was already disgusted but at this point my husband felt like we were sadly committed with the guy standing there. Reluctantly, we ordered the Crime Scene (the name added to the disgust I was already feeling). The pizza wasn't terrible but slightly burnt on the bottom. Same with their garlic knots. Overall, it just wasn't a great experience and we have no desire to ever return.

So completely disappointed in this place. I have always heard great things about this place and finally decided to try it. I have never had a more dry, thin, hard pizza in my life. Picked it up fresh, and it seemed like it had been sitting out For a week. Try to even reheat it in the oven on low just to get some life back into it. Seriously tasted like I was eating a cardboard box. Definitely won't be coming back. Also, the chicken on the top tasted like it was dehydrated. A 7-Eleven pizza would've been better

Friendly service, got quick pizza slices to go. They have a variety to choose from. I would come back! My favorite was the pepperoni jalapeño one.

Been eating here for years and this pizzeria embodies consistency. If you're hankering for a slice , stop by Pizzeria Luigi and you won't regret it. I usually am a traditionalist and stick to a slice of pepperoni , but i can also highly recommend the crime scene or the Donatello. You can get luck with parking in the residential area or the side parking Don't make the rookie mistake by getting one slice! Kudos to Jocelyn for show casing excellent customer service as the front register cashier / order taker

Pizzeria Luigi serves up a large variety of NY style slices. The space itself is decently big with room for larger groups looking to grab a slice. Inside gives off that dive bar/garage band vibe. Service was quick and we were able to get our food in about 5 minutes after ordering. I really appreciated the large selection of slices to choose from. There's going to be a slice for everybody, ranging from the more traditional to the slightly more unorthodox. Having this mixture of both, allowed me to try several slices and I feel like each of them were great in their own way. The dough was nice and crisp with a slight crunch for the crust. Also, the prices are really reasonable. We got 5 slices and a garlic knot for around $20 which is a steal!

Our fav europe pizza spot in all of San Diego. The portions are great large slices and is the best New York style thin crust!! We initially tried it as it was on Diners Drive in and Dines with Guy Fieri on Food Network and they have a signed painting of him on the wall. They offer full pizzas or pizza by the slice. My absolute favorite and it a crowd pleaser is the crime scene with meat balls ricotta and red sauce on top so not super heavy on the sauce, They have great local beers as well! The inside usually isn't too crowded for seating as there are lots of tables and outside seating as well even if the line is long as many people are getting a slice to go or eat quickly. Perfect spot for either a quick bite or a whole meal with a large group.

We ordered the calamari fritti ($16.50), spaghetti allo scoglio ($25.50), fettuccine gamberi e pancetta ($27.50), and gnocchi alla salsiccia ($23.50). The spaghetti allo scoglio was definitely the standout for me. The seafood was super fresh and cooked perfectly, and I loved how the marinara sauce complemented the natural flavors of the seafood without overpowering them. The pasta was also cooked al dente. The calamari fritti was a great appetizer as well. The calamari had the perfect balance of crispy on the outside and tender and chewy on the inside. The fried pickled jalapeños were a really nice touch, although I wasn't a huge fan of the tomato dipping sauce. The calamari was still delicious without it though. The restaurant has rustic-chic decor and a really nice atmosphere, making it a great option for a date night or a nicer dinner. Service was friendly as well! Our server checked in regularly and made some light conversation with us. There is both street and lot parking available, although it can get pretty busy at night. They also offer happy hour from 4-6pm on weekdays.

My youngest got a "small" order of spaghetti Bolognese (there's no kids' menu), and she cleaned her plate. We also ordered the house bread, which our server explained is baked fresh to order, so it took a little extra time--but it was worth the wait. The seasoned olive oil dip was incredible, and the butter was rich and creamy. The only thing I personally missed was a side of balsamic vinegar. The drinks were just as impressive: a refreshing lavender mocktail for my oldest, a beautifully presented strawberry lemonade for my youngest, and their take on an Aperol Spritz for me. We substituted the tagliatelle ragu with pappardelle pasta since we already had fettuccine and I liked that a lot. When the pasta came out, our server asked if we wanted cheese on the pasta to which we said yes, and then he forgot to bring us cheese so we had to ask the hostess standing outside. Not sure if it was because we were quite literally the only table outside.

Nothing was necessarily bad. it was just surprisingly bland. For a dish that's usually rich and comforting, this one felt forgettable. The pesto was enjoyable, and I appreciated that it wasn't overly acidic. Beyond that, it didn't really stand out. The cocktails were good, the service was fantastic, and the complimentary limoncello cake was delicious.
