Love this place! It's casual and perfect for stopping by after work or after any big event. The staff at the bar is super friendly, welcoming, and FAST which is always a plus when you just want to grab a drink and relax. It has a laid-back atmosphere that makes it an easy spot to come back to. Great place to unwind, have a drink, and enjoy yourself without anything feeling too formal or complicated.
Aww we had a nice time! The bartender was friendly she was super nice! We asked her for recommendations and she was honest and got her coworker. To help recommend. We definitely will be back and we support! Nice vibe chill, the food was good, and the beers are cold.
Whether you want to watch your games indoors, outdoors (covered patio), or way outdoors as close to Home & Away's huge *ss tv as possible (in which case bring a hat!) this place offers a variety of seating options for your viewing pleasure. The Nachos (Fresh Chips, Chicken or Pork, Cotija Cheese, Peruvian Beans, House-made H&A Salsa Verde, Sour Cream, Onions and Cilantro) are nearly as ginormous as the aforementioned screen, and well worth ordering. Speaking of ordering, you'll need to do so (and pick up) inside at the bar, but it'd be nice if there were also a table service option, particularly if you're sitting outside!
Stopped in for a playoff game this Sunday and had a great time! What a great find!! So here we go... ADD 1 STAR Parking on Sunday was great! Plenty of street parking even for a 1pm game start! Unlike places like Gaslamp, PB, Hillcrest I was pleasantly surprised! ADD 1 STAR Great outdoor seating area both covered and also out in the sun. Huge outdoor screen for the game too. Plenty of other tvs around the bar! ADD 1 STAR Plenty of water stations to help keep you hydrated! Even dog bowls for your 4 legged friends! ADD 1 STAR Staff were friendly and welcoming and always came around to clear our table. My only issue was the food. I was so disappointed in the smash burger. What's up with smashing the bun into a hard pancake both top and bottom bun? I've had better tasting smash burgers but I can get a better one at Jack in the Box and for $10 cheaper. It was so underwhelming I didn't even want to take a picture. The tator tots were awesome! Perfect crunch and spice....so flavorful! The women's bathroom is a little strange and quite frankly a waste. Two toilets set up side by side like how urinals are. This only works if 2 close friends are in there. They could easily make this 2 stalls and keep lines to a minimum. So 2 toilets but really just 1 women's bathroom.

The food here was really good i could'nt even finish it i got full before it was finished, they have a bar for you to have drinks if you want to get a couple drinks. Seating is on your own so you walk in pick a seat and then order your food up at the bar. Recommend trying if you're looking for somewhere nice to sit and eat

Tried the nachos and they are enormous and loaded. Efficient service set up: Place your orders at the bar and grab a number for delivery to your table.
While visiting family in the area, we all went to Home & Away for Taco Tuesday. This place is one of my brother in law's favorites. There's a nice outside seating area and pretty good bar food here. You order at the bar, find a seat and they bring your food. I had the Carne Asada tacos, my wife had a shrimp and a pork taco and my daughter had chicken tacos. These were reasonably priced at $3.50 for each taco. The place was jumping with lots of people there and the NBA playoffs on the TVs. Looks to be a good watering hole not too far from the airport. I will return here one day.
Good beer but food is just ok. I'm a little thrown off by the chicken strips, which are a bar staple and should not be that hard. At least get these right if you're going to put them in your menu. I can't tell if they are burnet or just a weird batter recipe...but I won't order then again. I remember the fries being really good but today, just ok. Don't go out of your way to eat here. But nice atmosphere and a good local beer selection.
So grateful to Home & Away and their team for helping us make this Halloween Themed Going Away Party possible! Everyone had such a good time and couldn't stop speaking about the space of the venue and the convenience of being so close to our place of employment. People were able to stop by after work and enjoy the festivities. We chose home & away so guests could park in our employee lot and catch a ride to the bar as parking is tight. It's mainly just street parking. Home & Away allowed us to rent out the patio and decorate and even have a mariachi band play. They provided a taco bar for us that was delicious ! And the cost of this whole event, venue space & food was so reasonable. To the bar manager that helped us set up and help us get batteries last minute, thank you so much!
One of my favorite sports bars to watch games at. There's plenty of street parking and they have a small parking lot in front. Love the indoor and outdoor areas. They also have heaters which is definitely clutch when it's during the cooler months. Food: my favorite are the wings and nachos. I usually get that, but I need to try the other stuff on the menu! This time around, I did order the carne asada tacos; tbh they were a bit dry and didn't have much flavor. The service was very nice and the staff is always friendly! One thing they could add on their menu is guacamole. They have chips and salsa, but no guacamole. :( My most favorite part about this bar is that it is pet friendly! I'll definitely be back again and again.

Sports bar with a huge outdoor area and lots of places to sit and relax and watch tv in any direction. We came midday and most of the tables were sticky and dirty even though it was 85% empty so the staff doesn't do a good job keeping it clean. While my guy got a beer to enjoy during the hot, summer day, I only like sours and they, sadly, didn't have a single sour on their menu. Small menu to choose from, but prices were pretty steep. My guy and I got the Totchos (beans and sour cream on side) with chicken (they were out of pork) at a coworker's recommendation. These were actually impressively good! The tots were crispy and only slightly oily. There was a decent amount of chicken and other ingredients involved and the portion size wasn't too bad. Getting the beans on the side was the right move because the tots stayed crispy the whole time. Honestly, I would come back here for the totchos again, but would enjoy it more next time if they had a sour to pair with it. read more

This is our second time here and last. I ordered ceviche and this is what they serve. I realize it's a bar but this is far from what I would consider ceviche or worth $17.00. In a separate order, some of the fries were overcooked and some were undercooked. Just stick to burgers here read more

The tacos are so good! Full of meat and flavor, very filling. The service is great and the bar is nice. Only high top seating but a nice bar. There's ton of seating outside too with a covered patio. We chose this place because it's open late, but it's a must if you're in old town San Diego. read more

Came here for Thursday night football with the boys. I had the Tachos and they went with burgers. Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and going up to the bar to order. Also there's no shortage of screens, so everyone has a viewing angle to watch the game. Their outside area was great, especially in the fall when the weather is still warm. Went for the World Cup finals game, the vibes were immaculate and for how busy it was the workers did a great job with getting everyone their food and drinks. They had a lot of TVs so anywhere you looked you could catch the game. I am giving it a four stars because when it's really busy, it's really important to stay on top of restroom checks which was a bit lacking and having a couple more umbrellas on the patio would be really nice. read more
It is a fun place to hangout with friends. We sat at the bar and the bar tenders were very nice. We ordered a hamburger and wings with our drinks and everything was good. We will come back. Ladies, be ready for a bathroom with 2 toilets and half of a wall which I didn't mind lol it was funny. read more

Wings were great! Tacos were hit or miss. The fish taco wasn't great, however, the steak was fantastic. I'll definitely stick to steak next time I come here.. it was great! Looked promising. Sports bar, big screen, large outdoor area. Tater tots extremely salty, fries too salty, Carne asada Sandwich meat extremely salty. Classic Burger had offputting freezer or refrigerator taste in the meat. I'm assuming over salting is to try to make you drink more? Great beer selection. Order from the bar take a seat and a number and your food is delivered to you. Service is average. It looks like a great place for drinks, but that's about it. read more
We met here for an extracurricular meeting. Everyone was very welcoming as soon as you walk through the door. Very military friendly. Food was awesome. I went with the bar tender's recommendation of the fish tacos. Definitely did NOT disappoint. Very chill and laid back sports atmosphere. read more
Yes, it's a bar, but you can bring your kids for lunch. The staff are very friendly and even with kids will make you feel welcomed. My son saw the restaurant on yelp and they showed a burger that caught his eye. So we came ate and left satisfied. I would definitely come back here again. Solid food, good service and plenty of space to watch the games (inside and out). Critiques would be putting umbrellas outside for game days where it is hot and crowded and making water and water cups more readily available. Water jug was empty every time I checked and cups nowhere to be found. Also the line for the women's bathroom gets really long because it is one locked door but once you get inside there are two stalls but there is no divider in between them (see photos). Honestly REALLY weird - who is this bathroom for? They should make the two toilets in the women's bathroom be two separate stalls that lock and remove the lock on the actual bathroom door. Simple fix that would make a world of difference. Overall, great bar. Just needs to make some easy updates to account for its popularity and create a better experience for patrons. read more

We've been coming to Home and Away for football watch parties for the past few years. They have a great outdoor patio setup with a massive screen and heaters or umbrellas to accommodate any weather. The staff is incredibly friendly. Unfortunately the menu doesn't really accommodate gluten allergies with the only option being an underwhelming yet pricey salad. It's difficult to spend 3-5 hours there on a weekend without options for food, especially when drinking. The parking situation is also difficult on busy game days since the restaurant only has about 5 designated spaces and street parking throughout the surrounding blocks is tricky. read more
