Let's talk about Buffalo Wild Wings in Temecula, because apparently someone in a corporate office decided the bar was too popular and needed fixing. For years this place had a stupidly simple, stupidly effective setup: cheap beer, every day, no gimmicks. $4 for a big Wild Herd. $5 for whatever domestic was in rotation. Six bucks covered basically everything else. You didn't need a rewards app or a coupon or to show up during a two-hour window on a Wednesday. You just walked in and got a decent price on a beer. Revolutionary, I know. That pricing did something a lot of restaurants pay consultants a fortune to figure out how to do: it got people in the door during hours nobody else wants to be in a restaurant. Early afternoons. Random weekdays. The dead zones. And once people are in the building, they don't just drink water and leave. They order wings. They start a tab. They tip. They come back. Someone decided that wasn't good enough anymore. So the everyday specials got replaced with a tighter happy-hour window, and -- shocker -- the crowd that used to fill those slow hours just... didn't show up for happy hour instead. Turns out "come back at a specific time for a smaller discount" isn't the same offer as "cheap beer whenever you feel like it." Who knew. And this isn't even the first self-inflicted wound. There were stretches where they flat-out ran out of basic beer and liquor -- in a sports bar, where beer is arguably 60% of the business model. Bartenders standing there apologizing because inventory wasn't handled. Here's the part that actually matters if you're the one making these calls: an empty stool at the bar generates zero dollars no matter how good your margins look on paper. A guy nursing a discounted beer is not a loss -- he's a customer who's still in the building, still ordering food, still tipping, still coming back. You can't spreadsheet your way to "the bar felt alive," but you sure can spreadsheet your way to killing it. They had a working formula. I've been coming to Buffalo Wild Wings in Temecula for a long time, and whoever made the decision to eliminate the everyday beer specials clearly doesn't understand what was actually keeping this place busy during the slower hours. The old setup worked. You had the $4 22 oz Wild Herd, a rotating 22 oz domestic like Bud Light, Coors Light, or Miller Lite for around $5, plus several other beers around $6. They weren't just "cheap beer specials." They gave regulars a reason to come in, grab a seat, watch a game, hang out for a while, and inevitably order food or another drink. More importantly, THEY FILLED CHAIRS. Now those everyday specials are gone and the discounts are basically limited to happy hour. And you can see the result with your own eyes. The regular crowd that used to make this place feel alive during off-peak hours has thinned out dramatically. Tables and bar seats that used to have people in them are sitting empty. This feels like one of those corporate decisions where somebody looked at a spreadsheet and decided they could squeeze another couple dollars out of every beer without understanding why those customers were there in the first place. A $4 or $5 beer sitting in front of a customer who also orders wings, fries, appetizers, or another round makes more money than a full-priced beer sitting in a refrigerator while the barstool in front of it is empty. And that's the part that's almost comical: Buffalo Wild Wings used to have a pricing strategy that actually created regulars. People had a reason to choose BWW over the dozen other places around Temecula where they can grab a beer and watch sports. Now? What exactly is the reason to come here outside of happy hour? You didn't improve the value proposition. You removed it. The staff can be great and the food can be perfectly fine, but you can't manufacture atmosphere in an empty restaurant. The regulars WERE part of the atmosphere. Bring back the everyday beer specials. Get people back in the chairs. Let them stay for a game, order some wings, and turn this place back into a neighborhood sports bar instead of another corporate restaurant wondering where all its regulars went. read more

My past dine-in visits had me chewing on tiny dry wings that felt like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp since halftime, so I gave up on the place. We got the 20 bone-in/20 boneless wings combo with Caribbean Jerk, Lemon Pepper, Parmesan Garlic, and Hot Buffalo, and every flavor came through swinging!! The wings were actually BIG, juicy, and packed with flavor!! Yummm!! Even the fries showed off.... I opted for flavoring with Chipotle & Desert Heat seasoning amd was dangerously addictive!!!! Breaking News! With eliminating the beer specials because they look at the dollar and not the value of a full seat in the slow times. Whether a guest purchases a $5 beer or a $9 beer. The value of the dollar still holds its strength, We the guests stay longer, invite others, keep coming and make that place go from a desolate space to full of life. Not sure if this came from corporate or the owner/management but its a pretty dumb decision. I've noticed in my pop ins that its emptier and emptier, the familiar faced regulars have moved where thier dollar is valued. Drastically shifting the culture of an environment literally overnight is probably the most uneducated approach to business management/ownership. Whoever is looking over these numbers probably doesn't know how to count or they are just blind because these seats are empty! The look on the servers and bartenders are all disappointment because they go to tables to bring news of "oh hey, they changed this this this this and that" as a courtesy because of the what We The Consumer would see as a normal bill that we could calculate with just the thought of coming here. It was fairly loud inside but for a Saturday afternoon, it was to be expected. Our server was super friendly and attentive (I think her name was Tara) and made us feel super comfortable even with a potentially messy toddler. She was great! We stopped by to watch a UFC PV fight. Service from the minute we walked in to the minute we left was amazing. The amount of times they checked in on us was appreciated. We definitely saw the staff working as a team to get through the busy night. The food and the drinks pleasantly surprised me as I've had horrible experiences at other locations. I had a great experience at this Buffalo Wild Wings location today. I was in the area because my wife was attending a Bachelorette party in the winery so I had to stay in the area. I found parking okay and when I walked inside, I sat at the bar since it's opening seating. A waitress greeted me right away and I got a Mountain Dew. The mountain dew they brought out had some black stuff in it so I asked for another one. I think it was the machine or ice tray in that area so they had to go get it from the bar for me. They had the PGA Master tournament on so I was watching that and ended up getting their All American cheeseburger for my entrée. I basically sat in the bar area for like 6 hours watching the PGA Masters and then UFC 300. The food was great, my server was attentive to me and kept checking up on me. The bathroom here is also very clean compared to other Buffalo wild wings location I been to. Overall I had a great experience here. read more
