I haven't reviewed BJ's in a very long time because I haven't been back and in a very long time. I went back today and got the lunch special of all you can eat soup and salad. I was with a big group and I have to say that our server was exceptional. There were 12 of us and she handled it like a trooper! I should have asked for her name so that I could give her a personal mention. The service was amazing and the food came out nice and hot. I didn't care for the chicken tortilla soup so I opted to get the chili in place of the soup that I couldn't eat. Chili was good with a noticeable beer flavor. The salads were great. I had a caesar and then I had the tomato mozzarella salad. Both were delicious but the tomato mozzarella salad was over the top. It was simple and flavorful with bocconcini, diced tomatoes and arugula with a balsamic vinegar dressing. Everybody enjoyed the clam chowder. The pizza's looked really good. One person in our group needs to be gluten-free and her pizza came out twice the size of a regular personal pizza! It was very impressive. One person shared her fries with me and they were very good. Based on the service alone I will start going back here. I would really like to just order some appetizers next time and share. I remember how good the avocado egg rolls were. read more

Rating based on our ridiculous and overwhelming dissatisfaction with our reservation Friday night (5/8/26) with their "host/hostess desk." We had an Open Table reservation for 7 at 9:15pm, didn't get seated until 10:00pm! Checked numerous times and attitude & demeanor of young high school/college aged female employees was off-putting. Not only that, silverware rolled in black napkins had fallen on the floor, and one of the female workers picked the fallen forks & knife up and re-rolled it nicely in the napkin and my wife pointed this out to hostesses. They claimed that they weren't going to place it back to be given to a customer. Buy why would you re-roll it neatly if you're going to place them with the dirty utensils. We felt it would've been re-used had we not said anything to them. Honestly, we don't think it makes any difference making a reservation here versus walking in without one as we waited 45 minutes for a table. We almost regretted dining here as 6 of us were driving back to San Diego afterwards, and 1 of us was driving back to South Pasadena. Now the positive. Our server, night manager, and food ordered made up for the evening. The boneless wings ordered was served cold, but it was re-done and served hot like it should have been. The manager had comp'd a free large pizookie dessert for the inconvenience. The other food ($13 pizookie deep dish pizza & salad combos) and a shrimp entree, and their avocado egg rolls were very good and well priced! We don't know if we'll ever come back here, we may try other alternatives for late night dining, especially if they can't get their reservation logistics and hostess customer service in order! They're in great need to being re-trained and told they need to place themselves in the shoes of their patrons. How would they want their family members treated if they were dining at BJ's? Anyway, huge kudos to our server and the manager who salvaged what would've been one star review scores across the board. read more

We were seated at a table with Michael, and you know that awkward feeling when you feel like you're bothering someone? That's exactly how my family and I felt. We even talked about it after dinner, and I wasn't the only one who picked up on that vibe. We received our drinks and were asked if we wanted to start with anything, so we ordered two appetizers--but not before asking a few questions about the menu. He didn't seem very interested in explaining anything and simply responded with "yeah, it's good." When a customer asks what's popular, that's the perfect opportunity for a server to showcase their knowledge and help guide the experience. It's not about blame if someone doesn't like a dish--it's about making sure they feel informed and confident in their choice. Instead, we felt rushed and not really cared for. After putting the order in, he came back to ask if we were ready to order our mains. We had a few more questions, especially about the pizzas, and ultimately decided on the barbecue chicken pizza. Some time passed, and our appetizers finally arrived--but we had no small plates, utensils, or napkins. We looked around for him and couldn't find him, and since the other servers nearby were busy, I ended up walking across the restaurant just to get what we needed. Things became more noticeable as we finished our food and sat there for a while with empty glasses. Once we were ready to pay, there was a QR code on the table, and as soon as he noticed we were about to check out, he came over with a water pitcher to refill our glasses and made small talk. It would've been nice to have that level of attentiveness while we were actually eating (which did once at the beginning when our food came to our table). Waiting until the very end didn't feel genuine. I'm not sure I would visit this location again. I haven't been to a BJ's in years--about 12, back when I lived in the Midwest--so this felt like a fresh experience for me. Honestly, I'd rate it two stars as a new customer, mainly due to the service. On a positive note, the food did come out hot. The chicken nachos were the standout appetizer, and the sampler was just okay. The barbecue chicken pizza, however, wasn't my favorite--I wouldn't order it again. The crust tasted like it may have been beer-based, which didn't pair well with the barbecue sauce. It might've worked better with a traditional marinara, but I gave something new a try, and that's what matters. If you're in the area, it might be worth stopping by for the food alone, but when it comes to customer service, there's definitely room for improvement. read more

Ive never eaten here before. I came because I wanted the gluten free pizookie. The pizookie was by far the highlight and easily an 8-9/10, but everything else was a huge disappointment. The baked potato was decent but the burger was terrible. It came super undercooked. This is not medium well. Unfortunately I was the first one to take a bite of my burger and im severely immunocompromised so now I have anxiety. We all stuck our burgers back in the oven to cook longer. I came in on a Tuesday night with my family to have a pazookie , because it's $5 pazookie night. We were greeted by the waitress and she was amazing being that it was packed with a bunch of high schoolers that were also there for pazookie night. My complaint is that my pazookie was nothing like the photo. Went in today for lunch to celebrate our anniversary and our waitress was the sweetest! We got seated almost immediately during the peak lunch hour and our food was relatively quick. The manager brought out my husband's meal which they accidentally did shrimp tacos instead of the mahi mahi. He told us not to worry, they would take care of it. They ended up comping both taco meals and giving us a to go box. I had the spicy peanut soba noodles with very dry chicken, while the flavor was on point, the dish was a kid's portion and not worth $20 at all, so I know not to order that one again. The s'mores pizookie was the perfect ending to our meal. P.S. The fish tacos trump the shrimp ones. I have always loved this place! Not sure why it has such low reviews. People like to complain about food and all that, but I always see people come here! Its nicely decorated inside and its always clean. I love the feel of this place. They have excellent appetizers. I especially love their calamari! I loved their avocado eggrolls! Idk if they still have this stuff still. Their pizza is also excellent. Its thinner than some places and my son loves it! You can even build your own pizzas. My husband and I come here pretty frequently and it is a hit or miss but we keep coming back because the food is generally good. Sometimes the fries come out cold or hot but stale. If you let your server know, they'll apology and get you a fresh batch. When they're hot and fresh they're great. We usually sit at the bar and they seem to have somewhat high turnover there. We used to have the same servers all the time and service was great but lately service is really lacking. Empty glasses. Server no where to be found. Super slow to come around and see if we need anything even though they are not busy. We typically go mid-week non-happy hour. We might get better service at a regular table but we do like to sit at the bar and just grab an open booth. They have some tall tables at the bar too. We came for the viral $13 pizookie meal. The dirrrrty front doors should have been sufficient red flag... but we continued. Asked about getting a virgin version of an alcoholic drink and was told "yeah, I can't do that," in a stern way. Ok, no problem. We were trying to order and asked normal questions and shed get irritated. Example, I said "oh they don't show the pizookie option the pizookie meal deal page, so where is it?" And she's like "ergh! I overheard someone behind us complaining to the same server about a nasty piece of food, and right after found what looked like a piece of bamboo splinter in the burger ‍ ..I pulled it out but didn't want a big deal because next thing you know I'm hearing someone crying their heart out and it's our server with 2 other servers at the serving station . She's pointing and complaining about a few tables giving her a hard time.. (not us).. honestly don't know if she was having a bad day or what, but i genuinely believe even if food is mehhh a server can make the experience better and she did not it actually made it all more awkward and unappealing . The food, let me tell you about the food. Our server Kris (Kristen) was awesome. She was on the ball, polite and you could tell she was genuine. I ordered the smash burger off the weekly deal. You get a lot of food for the price. The kids started off with the pretzel and beer cheese. Then the hickory brisket and bacon burger, and the Korean sticky ribs and a Caesar salad. I usually love BJ's, but this location is a big disappointment. There's always a long wait just to be seated, and unfortunately the service doesn't make up for it. The servers weren't friendly, and the overall experience felt rushed but still somehow slow. I ordered the Smash Burger, and it came out with barely any meat on it. When I asked about it, I was told it only comes with 3 ounces which explains a lot, but still doesn't justify the price or the presentation. On top of that, the food took a long time to arrive. What really sealed it for me was the lack of effort to make things right. The manager didn't offer any discount or gesture of goodwill. Very disappointing experience. We came in with a party of 12, and our dining experience lasted almost 2 hours due to extremely slow service. It took a very long time for our orders to be taken, and the food took forever to come out. Our waitress barely checked on us and came across as rude and uninterested, as if she didn't want to be there. To make matters worse, my niece's food (b day girl ) didn't arrive until everyone else had already finished eating, which is especially unacceptable for a large family gathering. My visit was to celebrate a friends birthday. She said she is kind of picky and I knew the place to take her. Visiting any of the BJ's restaurant I always experience friendly service and quick to be seated. This spot was no different. Makenna was our server and was friendly just as they were at the front. I ordered the Jambalaya and my friend ordered one of the burger dishes. Our food arrived in a decent amount of time and looked delicious! My friend was pleased with her dish and I was too. The Jambalaya was packed with flavor. The amount of protein (shrimp, sausage...) was perfect. I couldn't make up my mind what to order, at the start, too many delicious selections. I'm glad I selected the Jambalaya. The atmosphere is always alive, place is always clean. My friend went to the restroom and mentioned to the server when leaving that the trash was full to the rim and they immediately went to take care of it. Worst restaurant experience in a long time. Visited BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse with family and asked for a simple substitution on a sampler due to a dietary restriction (no beef). Instead of helping, the manager came out hostile from the start. She raised her voice, dismissed us, and actually told us that if we didn't like it, we could leave--and that we "shouldn't be eating out." Who says that to paying customers? When we tried to calmly explain, she refused to continue the conversation and walked away. This all happened loudly enough that nearby tables were staring. This wasn't just poor service--it felt disrespectful and unwelcoming. A manager sets the tone for the entire restaurant, and this was completely unacceptable. I had the pleasure of patronizing BJs(Cerritos) last week for a birthday celebration, and had a very positive experience , which prompt me and my husband to patronize the BJs(Temecula) that is closer to our home yesterday. We arrived at approx 4:02 pm and checked in with the hostess and requested a table for a party of two. The hostess appeared to be slightly confused, while having conversations with random co workers, which I assumed was simply work related on customers seating arrangements. ..Okay understood! In the meantime, she asked my name and indicated my wait time would be 15 mins. I glanced at her with more confusion and replied ookkkaay!! The confusion was due to there were clean seating readily available ( Exhibit A attached picture). However, I witness other customers enter and be seated immediately...Humm very suspicious, unacceptable and lack of professionalism especially for a major corporate restaurant chain.... Once seated the server lack personality, and its as if we were disturbing her. Our conversation and interaction with her was brief and "curt".. However, food was good, but couldn't really enjoy it due to the less than professional treatment encountered upon arrival, accompanied with the unwelcoming environment! As a result, I have opted to not patronize BJS Temecula again. Recommendation: All employees should be required to attend a corporation sponsored certified effective communication & customer service training seminar. In addition to customer service, please incorporate a detailed " Implicit Bias" session into the training co-hort. Train site managers to lead an effective group of successful enthusiastic team players. Site managers always know what's going on within their establishment at all time, this is referred as the "Eagles' Eye" concept. If seating is allegedly unavailable in the dining area, its okay to suggest the bar area as an alternative to dining. Or explain the reasoning of delayed seating, as we can clearly see the available empty tables in the main dining area... A twenty minute wait time is UNACCEPTABLE, especially when seated in the area that had been empty and cleaned upon my arrival. What type of games are you people playing?? Im not looking for a free meal or perks, I just want immediate corrective action from corporate by implementing excellent and professional customer service to ALL who patronize and spend money at BJs Temecula Hopefully this post is utilized as constructive criticism for the betterment of the establishment and ALL customers your serve. After my 14-year-old's football game in Corona, I brought him and his older brother here. We were a bit tired rolling in around 10:30 p.m., so it was great to find a local favorite still open. We were seated right away, menus in hand, and our waitress quickly brought waters and took our drink orders. Food came out within 15 minutes--impressive for how late it was--and everything was cooked perfectly. My younger son tried deep dish pizza for the first time and loved it. I went with the Enlightened Strawberry Chicken Salad, while my college kid tackled a giant burger (and yes, it was as big as it sounds, lol). Our waitress was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and always keeping our waters and iced tea filled. As a coach, I dehydrate easily, so that kind of attention never goes unnoticed. The only thing that pulled me into this place in the first place was that meal deal. It's been 15 years since I've been to BJ's. Looks like I won't return for another 15 years. Stopped into BJ's today to try out the Smash Burger deal and I'm so glad I did. Honestly, for the price, you can't beat it. The burger had those perfect crispy, lacy edges you look for in a good smash burger, and the fries came out hot and seasoned just right. Of course, I had to finish things off with a Pizookie. If you haven't had one, you're missing out--warm, gooey cookie with melting ice cream is basically the elite way to end a meal. Huge shoutout to our waitress and the manager on duty! The service was super quick, and they actually got the whole order 100% right, which doesn't always happen these days. We visited BJ's Temecula on a Saturday night around five pm. The wait for a table was nearly an hour, so we sat at the bar top. Our bartender/ server was Lisette. She was a delight. She was friendly and on top of it. She made great recommendations, and was prompt on the drink refills. We ordered appetizers and a salad. We ordered sweet Asian chili boneless wings, but my boyfriend thought it had too much sauce. We shared the artichoke dip, it was delicious. Also ordered the steak salad with chimichurri. The restaurant has a relatively open concept and is clean and dimly lit, giving it lovely ambiance. Lissette asked every guest if they had a rewards phone #, and I love earning free stuff, so I'll be back for sure. Totally disappointed by tonight's attempt to celebrate my son's huge achievement at school today. We were seated fairly fast but the problem was we sat there for 12 minutes without anyone coming by to say hi, be right there, a smile...nothing. We were able to ask the unnamed manager about it and his response was that they were not busy and he will speak to the server. Instead of trying to help her he just stood there at the greeting desk with no attempt to help her nor keep us from leaving. Why do schools even give awards for places that can't even fulfill a smile or service to redeem such a special moment for a child. read more
