Did you know the word 'buffet' in Chinese is Zìzhùcān? It's written like this 自助餐 Okay, okay! Enough classroom for the day! I've visited Buffet City quite a few times, without my Fab Fiancée however. Seems she just doesn't care for the concept of Chinese food on a buffet. Buffet City has your usual variety of cold/salad items, hot beef, chicken or pork dishes. My favorite is the Chicken with Broccoli. Yummm! The fried rice and the noodles are excellent! Very tasty and perfectly cooked. They have shrimp on ice, you can make yourself a nice shrimp cocktail! The one thing I do miss that some Chinese buffets have, is Crab Legs. They do not offer Crab Legs at all. Just so you know. Overall, I've been impressed with Buffet City. It's clean and the servers are very attentive. You leave your table for seconds and they swoop in to pick up your empty plates! They'll keep your drinks filled, too. Only once did I have a less than stellar visit. It was about an hour before closing time on a weekday. They were not refilling the buffet items, or were quite slow to do so. I stood around hoping for more food to come out, along with some other diners. We stood there, looking at each other while shrugging our shoulders. Oh well! I guess my advice.... don't go near closing time. Hungry? Ready for some hibachi, sushi, chop sticks and more? The food is great I recommend the jelly it is the best jelly I've tried in a long time I tried most of the food and most of it was great. The service was great they liked making a few jokes at least they did with us they were really nice as well. We pass by this establishment frequently and never really considered trying it. Probably because of the stereotype that goes along with Chinese restaurants/ buffets. But a friend raved about it recently, so we thought we'd give it a go. We were both impressed. The service was good and the food was well stocked. The sushi was excellent; only 2 items I didn't care for, but there's a lot to choose from. Great selection of seafood, soups, and the normal Chinese dishes. Lots of dessert choices - including what I think we're fresh made donuts - but I was too full to try anything. Dinner was $16.99 on Sunday; $17.99 the rest of the week. If I could leave zero stars, I would have. Went during the week. Bones in all the fish, everything over cooked in sauces that were hyper saturated with salt and sugar. Sushi was average, everything was low low quality and tough to chew, over roasted. Poor selection, salad was old and brown, nothing redeeming here, will never go back. I wanted to take my brother out for his birthday and it was ruined. Waitress was racist. I was the ONLY customer she walked to the register. People of color stay away. All her white customers were allowed to walk alone to the register to pay for their meal. But us who were NOT acting suspicious, were rushed and walked to the register to ensure we didn't dine or dash. I have NEVER been so disrespected in my life. If I hadn't witnessed the piece of fish miss the buffet tray and fall on the dirty counter, then I wouldn't have seen the employee scoop it back up and put it in with the possibly unsoiled fish. If I wasn't a patriot, then I might not have called her out on that infraction. Despite our language barrier, my firm finger pointing retracing the events that sickened me clued her in that some people pay attention...and that, my friends, is what happens in the front of house here. I'm certain they run a vacuum occasionally, but it's not a habit. I would also place money on finding that same crusty napkin under the ice cream machine if I bothered to return tomorrow. This place was on our way back from the Weeki Wachi springs and I am glad we made the stop here. The food and variety was absolutely on par and it was good! Excellent selection on the buffet; a little bit for everyone. If you're a fan of sushi, it's an EXCELLENT value for $10. There are about a dozen different sushi choices, all extremely fresh and not the "mostly rice" offerings other buffet joints offer. I wouldn't say the patrons are "discusting," or even disgusting, but then again I'm not Hooked on Phonics on my first visit outside of Vermont. The staff is very attentive, and the gal who seems to run the place (Jean) is very gregarious and concerned that you have a good experience. Drinks are refilled promptly, and after several dozen visits, I have NEVER seen a tray empty up at the buffet, even counting the sushi station. It may not be apparent at first glance, but there's a hibachi station in the back of the restaurant. Piling the raw ingredients on your plate is a great way to know exactly what's on your plate when it's cooked. It's all very fresh, and the hibachi chefs are happy to cater to specific dietary requests (use just water, no butter, keep away from meat on the grill, etc). read more

My wife and I usually come to this location. The reason I am giving them four stars, and not five, is simply because some time the food is hit or miss. I eat the "American" food while my wife usually has the hibachi, or sushi. When I say hit or miss its little nagging things. Like the food should be changed or regularly, or the mac and cheese is some time watery. I know every body has their good days and bad even businesses but for a buffet you should be on the spot. Everything should be fresh for whoever comes through that door. But all in all I come here, and I enjoy it. I treat my wife and she treats me to dinner as well. I really don't think that good Chinese buffets exist in Florida, but there is this one and we love it. Agree with another poster, my water glass stayed full. As far as the food, the fresh baked sweet roll was good, desserts are the same as any other buffet. You know the eclairs, maccaroons and small carrot cale and choc cake squares on the parchment paper sheet in the fu sheet pan. Other than that, food was bland. I have had chinese buffets up and down the east coast while traveling. This place tied a greasy spoon place in Maryland for worst on my list. If people claim this is as good as they say, they have never really had good Chinese before. Not claiming it should be as good as Chinatown in NYC or LA , but really? Add some flavor! A wide variety of things to eat. I usually come when it isn't busy (before kids get out of school and parents get out of work) because there's more of a selection then. If you go later in the day you risk a lower amount of what you want. Haven't had a complaint so far, I like the place, it's clean and friendly and the selection is pretty great. read more
