Golden Corral was founded in 1971 by James Maynard and William F. Carl. The first Golden Corral Family Steak House opened in 1973 in Fayetteville North Carolina. The early Golden Corrals were steak restaurants, not all you can eat buffets. In the 1980's Golden Corral rebranded and expanded to include a buffet with 160 hot and cold items. During this time the restaurant added the Brass Bell Bakery. A brass bell used to ring every 15 minutes when the hot rolls were ready. Those fresh rolls are still my favorite bakery item. The Company is privately owned and in 2015 Lance Trenary was appointed CEO. As other all you can eat buffets saw their sales declined, Golden Corral operated on a 100 year plan for the company making their decisions for the long term instead of cutting corners for a quick profit. Golden Corral began instituting a remodel that has been shown to generate better sales for the company. The new design makes the buffet area more attractive and shows an open kitchen. 30 of the 489 locations received the updates in 2018. Obviously Golden Corral was struck hard by the Covid Pandemic. The restaurants near me still have permanently closed. It is sad to see the weeds overtaking the abandoned building in Pompano. I had so many good memories there of family meals while my daughter was growing up. Everyone can pick what they like from the over 150 menu items. It seems like the Golden Corrals north of me and in the center of the state have managed to survive. At first they all shut down and then they started reopening as take out and a cafeteria style restaurant but this model was not sustainable in the long run because they couldn't turn a profit with the number of workers needed to serve the food. There are now 396 locations left post pandemic including this one in Winter Haven near Legoland. We ended up here on Christmas while picking up a Christmas present in Lake Wales. This Golden Corral was renovated in 2020 with an exterior and interior redesigned that included new lighting, carpeting, landscaping and internal layout. They offered the standard all you can eat carved meats, fried foods, salad, seafood, steak, vegetables, sides, their famous buttery rolls, and dessert. The women's room floor was flooded but the rest of the restaurant still looks new and bright. Shout out to our hard working server Laci who was attentive and sweet while working on Christmas. Golden Corral still remains a good value for your money.

When you walk in Fred the cashier was very friendly and welcoming. He had a smile and answered our questions. The food was fresh. A few things were a little too salty for me but it was fresh. It is great for any one of any age to come here for dinner. You get senior discount. They have a two sided fire place. They do have hand sanitizers for public use. The restrooms were clean. They do have a non gender bathroom for use.

The ambience is amazing. This place is really much bigger than what the other one that I've been in the Bronx. I've seen the desserts look really delicious to Brothers fresh they have these smalls, apple cobbler, bread, pudding, hot chocolate chip cookies, and peanut butter cookies. They have a carving block. They have yellow rice, meatloaf with meatloaf topping penny pasta with Italian sauce. I have pot roast steamed cauliflower and broccoli cheese sauce, taco meat, tortilla chips, cabbage, buttermilk biscuits. I got everything here french fries. They have some shrimp. Everything looks really, really beautiful and clean. Our service name is find out what her name is got to check this in his name was Freid. What does our service name serve? Leslie is outside today. She's doing a fabulous job keeping the table. I like this place. It's a really nice family place. People are here with their children. it's very nice. I like it. We're here in Florida and I will come back again when I come back to Florida

Ask the Community - Golden Corral Buffet & Grill

Can anyone provide the latest prices as of July 1, 2025? I found no photos of the AYCE prices, nor mention within reviews except for a $17 dinner price recently, on here. Thanks.

Buffet City feels like a mix between a tourist hotspot and a local go-to--and honestly, it works as…read moreboth. It's located in a busy plaza with Publix and other shops, so parking is easy and plentiful. The restaurant can get pretty packed, but unless you're coming in with a large group, reservations aren't really necessary. The buffet leans heavily Asian, offering sushi, a wide variety of seafood dishes, classic Chinese favorites, and a hibachi station. That said, if you're not big on seafood (like me), you'll still find some solid American options. Many Asian buffets tend to limit those choices to basics like pizza and chicken tenders, but Buffet City goes a bit further. I was pleasantly surprised to see pot roast, mashed and roasted potatoes, and even fried chicken. They also have soups, salads, and a dessert selection that's actually pretty good. Come prepared--this is definitely an "elastic waistband" kind of place because you're going to want to eat your money's worth. The restaurant is surprisingly clean and well-kept, and the food stays fresh. The hibachi station has a great selection, and the chef is quick and thorough. Service is decent. Staff come around to refill drinks and clear plates regularly--but be warned, if you're not finished, guard your plate like it's gold. Same goes for your utensils--leave them on a plate, and they're gone. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience--the food, the atmosphere, and the fun of loading up our plates with a little bit of everything. Hope you enjoy it just as much! Let me know what you think.

It is a very big restaurant, could easily fit a couple of football teams. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in the restaurant. Our server Brendan was amazing. Super high energy, super friendly and super on point with refills and making sure that everything was good with us. Honestly, he really did make our dining experience a pleasure. Now onto the food. So many options. A long buffet of salad. A long buffet of hot foods and plenty of side dishes. Desserts Yum. I started off with the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn casserole, macaroni and cheese, chicken and dumpling soup and a soft sweet roll. And that was just plate number one. I'm not gonna go over every single thing I ate, but let's just say I truly think that this place is a must go to for dinner, lunch or breakfast. We enjoyed our dinner so much tonight that we are actually going back again tomorrow to do this again. The menu rotates and changes daily so there's plenty of food options and it is all you can eat. So my advice is simple. Go to this restaurant and go hungry and be ready to meet some really nice people and have a really good time.

These fine folks are 35 miles from my casa and off the beaten track for me. I was in the area for another reason, and they were calling me. Arriving- their address is 5th Street but think Route 17. The parking lot is fine and there are some solid handicapped spots. Ambience- You enter through the outside patio. It's very nice and shaded but you're still going to be eating with cars whizzing by. That's never been an attraction for me. Inside has got a 50s vibe. Everything is spotless. You see the buffet almost immediately. There is a semi-open kitchen in that you can see part of it from some seats. The menus are laminated to the tables. The men's bathroom was spotless. Customer Service- Maybe 8 stars! Just awesome! My drink arrived within seconds of sitting down. My order was taken within seconds of when I was ready. I was checked on appropriately. My bill was on the table, and you pay the cashier when you leave. Nothing but good stuff to say. Food- Standard American menu with no big surprises. When I try a new place for breakfast, I always get an omelet. This time it was a Meatlovers with potatoes and a biscuit @ $11.99. The omelet was 4 eggs which is a little unusual. I was asked if I wanted my home fries cooked on the grill or deep-fried. That was something new! I choose deep fried. Everything was out quickly. My biscuit (not pictured) was warm and soft. My omelet was just fine. An average amount of meat and cheese and cooked nicely. It didn't seem like a four-egg omelet. Just the usual three. I could get this omelet anywhere and that's not necessarily a bad thing. OMG the deep-fried home fries! Did you see my picture? These are not from a bag but homemade. They were piping hot and just damn amazing! I never had anything like them, and they'll be in my dreams tonight. So, my breakfast with excellent service was easily a four-star experience. I can't speak to their lunch. Their average on Yelp is 4.3 which I think is justified. Give them a try!
