My first time ever in Chatham. A definite awww provoking little town, and no fewer than 4 different ice cream parlors along Main Street, by my count. Buffy's ended up being the lucky recipient of my patronage and $4.25 out of my wallet (!?!) for a one scoop. Normally I like smoother, lighter ice cream. This was a thick, rich substance that you had to dig for. But once in your mouth, it was really good flavor (butter pecan). Mm. Probably 20 different flavors at this place, also does shakes and stuff like that. No sorbets/sherbets from what I saw. I know that the Cape is a tourist haven, but I still wasn't expecting ice cream here to be more expensive than Boston. But yes it was. I left feeling a little bit ripped off, but then I went to the ice cream place one block up and they were at $4.75 for a one scoop, so. Yikes. read more

I can only talk about the raspberry lime rickeys, at least for now. I grew up in MA and definitely took my ability to find a great, is even decent raspberry lime rickey for granted. Visiting the cape for the weekend, I knew I had to enjoy one while I could. Buffy's gave me one of the best raspberry lime rickey's I have ever had. The secret is, that instead of just cutting up a lime and throwing it in the cup, they actually have a juicer that put all that amazing fresh squeezed lime juice right into the cup. Now, I do like my rickey's a little on the sour side, so this was perfect for me - just a head's up for those sweet toothes out there. Yes, they are a little pricey. But for satisfying my intense craving, they get 5 stars in my book. read more

Went here on a bustling hot summer day. Line was out the door, so definitely be prepared to wait. They have a $10 credit card minimum, but this isn't quite a problem given the price of the ice-cream. Homemade, this ice cream goes for $6.50 for a "one scoop" size (fairly generous), and $7.50 for a "two scoop size". If you're with more than one person, you'll have no problem with the credit card minimum. I got the coffee heath bar flavor, which didn't have as much "heath bar" as I was expecting. My mom got the raspberry chip flavor which was filled with large rectangles of chocolate. Overall very good ice-cream, fast service, and local shop. read more

We always love coming to Buffy's. I clearly must be rolling in money that I don't know about, bcs the prices just don't seem that bad to me. I don't know. Maybe my Starbucks habit has made me oblivious to price. Service is great. Sometimes it can get confusing with the line, because there's not enough room for people to stand to the side. So you get someone who seems to be in line, until you realize that they're still deciding. But the staff is really good about noticing and calling for the next people in line. You will probably have to wait, but the line moves pretty fast. Ice cream is also great. I mean, it's hard to screw up ice cream, right? But it's all homemade and they have lots of good, fun flavors as well as classics. Coffee oreo FTW! One thing that's kind of weird. I asked for butterscotch, and the guy gave me a ladle from a bucket labeled "caramel." He saw me looking at it sideways, and said, "oh it's actually butterscotch. it just says caramel." So I asked what they do if someone wants caramel, and he said, "We tell them it's butterscotch." I mean, I'll eat either with a spoon, but I know some people don't care for butterscotch. If the price bugs you, I would definitely suggest you check out any of the other zillions of ice cream places. But I always stop at Buffy's at least once, and I would recommend you at least try it once no matter what! read more

Banana chocolate chip for the win. I love all things banana, especially when paired with chocolate. This wasn't fake banana flavor - it was natural and sooooo good. Probably a bit overpriced, but it was a generous scoop and it's summer on the Cape so overpriced ice cream is par for the course. Although Buffy's ice cream parlor is an adorable spot to grab a scoop, our service tonight was absolutely appalling. The young blonde woman who took our order was vile. I asked to try two flavors and before I finished she asked me to order. I asked for a milkshake and the wrong one was made so I asked for the one I wanted. While she was making the correct order she complained about the mistake to two other coworkers which I could hear. She then put a bunch of water and milk in the milkshake making it extremely thin. Once she gave it to me she slammed the cash register when she took payment and was very rude during the cashing out process. I was very excited to try this spot, but after this experience I would not go back. The experience ruined the ice cream for me and I hope that no one else experiences the rude blond girl at the front desk. The other two workers seemed very nice. read more

(I started this review last summer and apparently forgot to click post...) A lot of reviews on here are talking about how this is some of them best ice cream on the Cape, so we were in Chatham and figured we'd give it a shot. My family tried three different flavors of "hard" ice cream that were quite soft...perhaps this is why the cost is so high. Keeping the ice cream colder allows for more air in each scoop, subsequently increasing the life of a container of ice cream (Shout out to Marcus Lemonis for that little tid bit!). The flavor was okay, but certainly not worth the hype or the price. The service left something to be desired too, I felt like I was bothering the guys working there from the moment we walked in the door. Perhaps it was just an "off" day, but the negatives compounded pretty quickly for me. read more

Ok so me and my friends were looking for a place to get ice cream when we were in Chatham and we decided on Buffy's. There was a small line but it went pretty quick. When looking at the menu, we realized that a small size is $6.50!!! $6.50 for a small is ridiculous!! I mean sure, it's Chatham and everything but like .....that's SO expensive! My friends agreed and we even contemplated leaving and going to another place, however we ultimately decided to stay. I got the small black raspberry chip with sprinkles in a cup. It ended up being $6.96 with tax. The ice cream was good, but not $6.96 good. Basically, if you're in Chatham and are looking for a good ice cream place, I would not recommend Buffy's unless you're willing to pay an insane amount for ice cream. read more

Any flavor I have tried has been spectacular. Made on site, and so many flavors! Of course, as other reviewers have said, the price is high. Two single cones runs you 14 dollars. Have been to this ice cream store in the past and enjoyed it the last times I was there. However this past weekend was a new adventure. The cookie dough ice cream had to have expired in 2019 as it was old, rock hard, with ice crystals in it and was totally lacking in taste. For a yo-yo, one scoop of ice cream in a dish and a two scoop ice cream dish for $25 is exorbitant. There are other places in town that I will go to before returning here. I like supporting local businesses, but there are other local businesses in Chatham Massachusetts that will see me before I return to Buffy's read more

Buffy's has lovely ice cream from what I tasted. Customer service was the biggest issue presuming the establishment only had one person serving and assisting people on the cashier. Line was enourmous around 3:00pm on a Thursday. Still amazing ice cream! The location is great as well. read more
