I'm rounding up from 2.5 stars. I think my husband summed up our experience at Buffy's pretty well: It wasn't so good that the the prices were reasonable. A single scoop in a cone is $5, and a double is $6.25. He enjoyed the mint Oreo, but was it any better than what you can find elsewhere on the Cape for a couple bucks less? No. I ordered an "Island Getaway" off the smoothie menu, which contained pineapple, mango, orange juice and yogurt. It was a little heavy on the yogurt, and at $6.85 for 12 ounces, I'm not in any rush to go back. read more

Buffy's is the only homemade ice cream in Chatham (so I'm told) and it is delicious. It's a small little hut and If you want a nice treat you'll get it here. It's a little over priced, but what isn't on the cape? The variety of flavors is top notch. They have no sugar added options too. It's nice to see some hand squeezed lemonade! There are picnic tables on the outside to sit and enjoy. You can also get toppings for an additional price, unless you get sprinkles (jimmies) those are free! read more

This little ice-cream shop was highly recommended by my fellow Yelpers, and since we were in the mood for a sweet treat, it was the place to go. It's a little homemade ice cream shop in the heart of Chatham on Main Street, basically a hole-in-the-wall. The free smells are yummy, but sadly the I felt it was a bit over priced for ice-cream.... $6.50 for 2 scoops, but it's I guess it's the Main Street prices. All in all, I'm glad we stopped, but it was nothing to write home about. read more

Hands down the best ice cream I've ever tasted! I am picky about my ice creams, and love the fact that this is home made & not loaded with additives. Ginger and Turtle flavors blew my mind- good thing I don't live here or I would get Buffy's every night! Prices are the same as Manhattan, but you get double the portion size. My favorite thing to do on vacation is try new ice cream and the banana chip at Buffy's is amazing. While my sister and friend decided on coffee I made the decision to get a scoop even though it was not even noon :) i will have to say that I made the better decision. The ice cream was sooooo good!!! It was creamy and fresh and hit the spot. There were fresh chunks of banana in it and I enjoyed every lick! I wish it was a never ending cone. Parking was a mess as this place is right on the main drag, but oh so worth it. I went chocolate chocolate chunk and it was great. So rich, generous with the add ins. The prices here are very high- wife had 1 scoop with sprinkles and I had a 1 scoop sunday... total was almost $15. Buffy's was recommended to us by a staff member, Jennie, at the Impudent Oyster, and I must say it was definitely a good recommendation. I had a scoop of the Chocolate Chocolate Chunk, and am still thinking of it 2 days later. Delicious. It is somewhat pricey at $5.50 for a scoop, but they are also $6.50 for 2 scoops, which is decent for what it is. Stop by if you're in the hood. read more

Definitely a bit overpriced ($5.50 for a single scoop!!), but I've tried a lot of ice cream on the cape and this is some of the best. Their fruit flavor are delicious and taste fresh, though I must admit I haven't tried much else there. read more

This was a really cute place! They had a nice little outdoor area with about 4 picnic tables and a drinking water fountain (very useful)! Although priced on the high-side, the servings were a decent size and the ice-cream (mint chocolate chip and pistachio) was delicious. And cheer up Miss Kranky Pants! Do not get the soft serve. My boyfriend and I got two waffle cones of soft serve and a bottled water, and the total came to $17.50. The ice cream was completely flavorless, but the waffle cone was good. Service was also pleasant. read more

My family and I have been going to Buffy's for years. We've always loved it. We hope it never changes. Just be careful on really hot days, because the second you step outside of the shop, the ice cream is going to start melting like you wouldn't believe. My advice is to get a cup. They have a variety of flavors, and they also have ice cream sandwitches, frappes and other cool treats to sink your teeth into. I hope this place NEVER closes. read more

This is the best ice cream on the Cape. They make it in-house on location, and always have friendly employees as well as some limited special favors. Do not forget to try a milkshake--without question, it is the best shake I have ever had. read more

I spent a long weekend in New England a few weeks ago and ended up on Main St. in Chatham one afternoon for a snack. We all agreed that ice cream was a perfect treat for the afternoon. I yelped a few locations on my phone and decided on Buffy's. Boy was that a mistake! The older man who was working that day (I'm hoping he was NOT the owner) was extremely rude. It felt like we we were a huge inconvenience being in the shop and when my friend asked to sample one of the flavors (a normal and encouraged practice in every other independent ice cream shop I've ever been in) you would have thought she asked him for the world. The ice cream was average, at best. I would rather send someone to the 7-11 for a ice cream sandwich them to Buffy's. Maybe I have high expectations living in Chicago where you have to actually work for your customers and create innovative flavors and... i don't know treat your customers with some type of respect. EEK...Methinks DEFINITELY NOT! read more

Had a single scoop cone, seemed quite expensive, nearly $6.00 although the scoop was large. I ordered peanut butter fudge but could hardly taste any peanut butter...I happen to love a strong tasting peanut butter ice cream usually peanut butter with chocolate and thought perhaps the fudge was dark chocolate with peanut butter but it was vanilla with a streak of fudge through it and not really a peanut butter taste. Next time I will ask for a sample before ordering. The ice cream though was creamy and tasty, just not strong enough flavor in what I ordered. read more

Having had an awesome experience last year we headed over to Buffy's. The hard ice cream was just as excellent and deserves five stars. Nevertheless, we purchased some soft serve. It was well below our Buffy's expectations. It was nothing special and even lacked in richness. It tasted like Hood soft serve. I suggest that Buffy's reconsider where they are procuring their soft serve. read more

$9.00 for a plain large soft serve ice cream cone?!! $9.00?! They charge TWICE as much for a large soft serve ice cream waffle cone than any other ice cream shop on Cape Cod. Ridiculously overpriced. Worth the trip to Go down route 28 a bit to the DQ in Harwich for yummiest, much bigger and half the cost ice cream cone. read more
