Recently, I noticed a major rat infestation (in central DC) and called for an emergency appointment to put poison in the fivw new burrows in my garden. The events that happened afterwards persuade me that this company is highly disorganized and in need of systems repair to assist a customer seeking specific help. First: although I asked for poison "dusting," Am Pest sent me a technician who was blissfully unaware of my request and, he told me, not certified to use "dust." He called his manager, who is qualified to do "dusting." But the manager chose not to come because it may rain later today. They did not set up a new appointment, and the report from the technician said that there are no further issues at this residence. I don't blame the technician, who seemed to be new, for all these problems. BUT the major rat infestation in my garden remains untreated! I had also requested extra bait boxes for a neighbor--also an Am Pest client--who shares the major infestation. The technician never received that request, even though the person who made the appointment said she wrote it down and I could accept the boxes for my neighbor. Notably, the technician's manager said that HE lacks authorization to approve extra bait boxes for their client--my neighbor. (The technician actually had extra bait boxes with him. He just never got approval to leave them.) The manager purportedly sent a request to approve the new bait boxes to someone else. We do not have the new bait boxes. Finally, when I went to the company website looking for how to write senior management, I discovered no named organization leaders. they are well organized for sales. Less so for emergency service. That is why I am writing on Yelp. (The relevant dates are July 6 and 7, if anyone from Am Pest actually wants to apologize for this mess of non-communication about why exactly I had called for emergency service in the first place.) Meanwhile, I am beginning the search for a different pest service.

As noted in my previous emails, the team was supposed to clear out and seal my attic and the same with my crawl space. After the work was done and I reviewed both locations, I had some concerns but when I called my salesperson (Josh) and the customer service team, I received no response. At all. After months of posting poor Yelp reviews and a couple of half-hearted attempts to reach me but never calling me back when I returned the call, I finally received a call back. I think it was shortly after my third bad review, where I noted the report provided to me by Orkin (basically stating that the Terminix exclusion job was poorly done) that a Terminix Operations Manager named Darien finally called me to set up an appointment to review the work that had been done nearly a year ago. Turns out, the crew that performed the service last year did not replace all of the old insulation (which means any scent trail was still there) nor did they lift up any floorboards, which would've detected evidence of activity. Darien sent a crew out shortly thereafter to redo the entire job. My family said they heard the team complaining about the poor job done by the previous Terminix crew. The crew completed the job (I assume) on the second day. When I called Darien, who had been extremely pleasant, to see if the work was complete and for a report out, I received no response. Despite his voice mail stating that calls are returned in 48 hours, it has been more than two weeks of me calling and texting. I just don't understand this level of service. It's bad enough that a company with as much money as Terminix would make very little effort to do the job the customer paid for but to then ghost customers is insane. Darien was nothing but smiles when he came to the house (just like Josh the salesman). All he had to do was return my phone call and say, "Everything is complete. Here is what was done..." and then send me a written report of that work. Better yet, don't wait for me to track you down. Reach out to the customer immediately. Thank them for their business and then provide the information. I am thankful that Terminix did finally come out and do the job I paid for a year ago. But I am extremely disturbed at how callous this company is with their customer's money and with their own reputation. The truth is, Terminix only responded after I left multiple complaints on Yelp. This is my last Yelp complaint because I actually ran into someone in corporate who asked me to escalate my concerns to several people he named, which I will do today. If you live near Annapolis, MD, avoid purchasing Terminix's Exclusion service. Not sure if they're conning their customers or if they're just poorly run. Either way, I'm out of $15K and I'm still seeing rodents.

We've had a problem with mice for the last 4 months and the techs did put bait boxes but i had to learn from my new company, Pest Czar, that the boxes were over packed and set incorrectly. After multiple complaints, we were given a number to "corporate" and would never hear back after our first call with them. The CS rep could never get in contact with a manager either. The technicians are full of it and do not do their jobs to satisfaction at all. They never asked any probing questions or took any extra steps at all. When they give a time frame for appointments, expect them to come an hour after the frame because they were never on time. Awful company. PLEASE LOOK INTO Pest Czar! THEY ACTUALLY TO THEIR JOB!!!

I live in an old historical part of Baltimore and came home to the lovely surprise of a thick swarm of flying ant-like insects all over the property. They were congregating around the old wood piles, so I was certain they were eating it and called up in a panic. (I had never dealt with a pest issue before and I was terrified at the thought of something possibly eating my recent purchase). So I called and he asked me to text him a few pictures. Turns out it was just citronella ants. (Generally harmless and definitely don't eat wood.) He could have easily taken me for a ride in my naivety, but he didn't. I'll take expertise, honesty, and integrity in a heartbeat. I'll also have him first in my recommendation list for others or in case I have an actual problem in the future.

After debating whether to try to go at it with a wasp killing spray, we decided that this job was beyond us. Because it was a Saturday and their office was closed, we left our contact info on All Star's website. Much to my surprise, Abdul, the company owner, called me very shortly thereafter! When I explained the problem, he deemed it an emergency and offered to come to our home the following day, Sunday. He also told us exactly what it would cost (extremely reasonable). He called us again Sunday morning with an approximate time of arrival. His kept us updated by text narrowing down the exact time. He arrived "dressed for battle" in protective gear. He treated the nest several times, then waited for the hornets to expire. He was at our home for about 45 minutes. He removed the huge nest, bagged it, and took it away with him. After being pretty much held captive and not able to be in our front yard for days, this was a huge relief. I cannot say enough good things about Abdul and the service he provided. He was so knowledgeable and very friendly and personable. He explained that his practices are based on his background in biology and are environmentally friendly. We are considering signing up for a yearly contract with All Star. We have been plagued with ants entering our home over the years, as well as mice. Abdul assured us that he would handle these as needed, as well as provide termite inspections with a yearly contract.
