The original installation included the wrong door, and the installers also damaged the fixed panel. What made the experience even more frustrating was the repeated failure to honor scheduled appointments. Multiple times, the company scheduled and confirmed service visits, only to never show up or communicate that they weren't coming. Each time, I had to move furniture, remove window coverings, clear access to the door, and rearrange my schedule, only to do it all over again for the next appointment. This level of service is simply unacceptable. If you're looking for Milgard products, I would recommend Sound View Windows or Lundgren Enterprises instead. Based on my experience, they offer much better customer service, often at the same or even a lower price.

To top it off, they charge a credit card processing fee, because apparently, squeezing customers is easier than running a decent business. I shouldn't have been surprised. I understand the company disagrees with my review, but I was disappointed by the tone of their response and the implied pressure to remove it. Being told they would publicly respond and report the review to Yelp and Google if I didn't remove it felt unnecessarily aggressive and intimidating. Also in response to their comments below Thank you for confirming the exact root of the problem: you looked at a three-pane window, saw that only the middle section was currently foggy, and assumed I only wanted that single section replaced. As a professional window company, it was your responsibility to clearly state: "We see only the middle pane is failing, so this quote is strictly for one pane of glass, not the entire window unit you asked for." You didn't do that. You just wrote "1 glass replacement" on a quote for a "window replacement" request and expected a regular homeowner to know the technical difference. The fact remains: I asked for a window replacement. I provided a photo of the entire window. Other companies looked at the exact same information and managed to quote the entire three-pane unit for a price comparable to what you charged me for just the middle section. You can keep calling a customer's genuine financial frustration "deceptive" to protect your online rating, but your own responses show a complete lack of accountability. You made an assumption, failed to communicate it clearly upfront, and I had to pay the premium for it. Prospective clients can read this back-and-forth and decide for themselves if they want to risk dealing with a company that hides behind ambiguous quote terminology instead of practicing transparent communication. Unfortunately, due to some miscommunication during the quoting process, only the middle section was replaced. However, even with the discount, the final price still ends up being significantly more expensive than competitors. Had everything been communicated more clearly upfront, I likely would have chosen a different company. The biggest issue for me was the lack of clarity during the quoting process. It felt misleading to realize afterward that the quote only covered one section instead of the full window I thought we had discussed. That said, I do want to give credit to the installation crew because they were excellent. They were respectful, worked quickly, kept everything clean, and did quality work. My frustration is mainly with the communication and quoting side of the experience, not the installers themselves.

After the installation, Brightside returned to inspect the install to be sure it was done right and nothing was wrong. From start to finish the process was easy. I was so impressed that I told my neighbors but they just ordered from another company. Their windows were much more expensive, the install took 4+ days and it left unpainted trim for them to fix. Now that our windows are in we are even more impressed. As promised, the house is more quiet and the tint means more privacy. All the manuals, receipts, warranties, invoices, etc were emailed which made the process fast and I had proof every step of the way. The upgraded windows will certainly reduce energy costs throughout the upcoming winter and add overall value to the home. Our neighborhood seems to attract outside salesman, some are not great. I read some of the reviews here and the less than great ones seem like a one-off salesman issue. Everyone I dealt with was great. My salesman was polished, polite and not pushy at all. I will not recommend any company unless they exceed my expectations and I can trust them to deliver to my neighbors. Working with Brightside was refreshing. WARNING TO HOMEOWNERS & SENIOR CITIZENS: Avoid Brightside Windows. They used predatory sales…read moretactics in our home and failed to provide mandatory physical copies of their cancellation forms as required by Washington State Law (RCW 63.14.154). Instead, they hid the cancellation details in an unmentioned digital link. My spouse is a stroke and brain surgery survivor, making a hidden digital link completely inaccessible. Meaning he didn't understand that he had to open the link and print the cancellation form, sign it and send it in within a 3 day window. They waited until he missed the three days and then called and threatened him with two options...either get the windows or pay a fine of 50% of the total contract. My spouse verbally canceled within 22 hours (before measurements or manufacturing even started), yet they tried to charge us a predatory 50% cancellation penalty. Thankfully, our lender (Momnt) saw through this and completely reverse-funded and closed the loan at a $0.00 balance. Now, Brightside's management team has failed to get back to us about their legal plans and refused to cancel the loan in writing while ghosting us. We have officially escalated this by filing a formal consumer protection complaint with the Washington State Attorney General's office. Do not let them into your home. By the way I was forced to give them a star in order to post this!

When the windows arrived and weather permitted, his team came out to replace the cheap windows and slider my GC put in and they did a fantastic job. Everyone at Kot's was so great we requested a quote for replacing the rest of the windows in the original structure which were installed last week. The whole team was fantastic to work with from start to finish. I had a lot of quotes, some cheaper but none with the level of integrity and pride in their service that I found at Kot's. They were very honest, respectful and professional throughout all of our interactions, and they were on time and had the glass replaced with in the amount of time that they said it would take. They weren't the cheapest but very competitive. I am not only paying for a price of replacement glass but service as well, they are professional, responsive, honest and knowledgeable, and that's what I'm paying for.
