Buk Buk kitchen is a food stand run by two friendly sisters that specializes in Filipino BBQ. We saw them at the International Marketplace on a Thursday night where the smell of freshly grilled meats brought us over. They handed out samples of their bbq pork and chicken. I also learned that they have mochiko chicken which I didn't see that day. BBQ CHICKEN MINI plate - $8 - Tender and juicy, this tasted authentic! A typical FIlipino bbq marinade is based on 7up, brown sugar, garlic, etc. The soda and brown sugar create a sweet sticky almost teriyaki like glaze which these had. (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/4wXpVs1sp_biLifEEhxb1g?select=537SmHHgVgcwx_iEv9DB1g) Suggestions for improvement. - Portion size/Value - Kinda skimpy. I know were in Hawaii but at Fil-Am BBQ in Daly City, I can get these skewers for $2 a pc. - The side - I didn't like the scooped corn out of the Costco sized can. At least prep it to put your own twist. Or even hide the can? - The rice! - Undercooked and mushy? First knuckle on your finger girl! You can find where they'll be next - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Buk-Buk-Kitchen/182203191802437

You want some simple, Teriyaki-glazed pork and chicken that's moist as can be, along with major "papa'a" (tasty burnt edges) action? Then look no further than Buk Buk Kitchen! MASARAP-SARAP!!!!!!

They served awesome pork, unfortunately my mother ate the whole dish!

Ono Eats by Kace was located near the front of Bellows entrance, under a purple pop-up tent with her business logo. She does all of her cooking in her cute purple trailer located behind the tent. Everyone working looked like family, perhaps her husband and children? I'm a sucker for small, family-owned businesses So this was another thing that had me sold. The line was also fairly long and the guy at the front moved it along pretty quick. He also has great customer service and engaged well with customers. Conveniently, she has a menu with her typical plates and daily specials. I assume she switches up her specials on different weekends as I was told that they're usually there on most Sundays. Now for the good part, the shrimp plates! She offers regular and spicy and I tried both. They're packed with garlic flavor and come with a dozen shrimp. She also scoops the garlic sauce on the rice. The spicy shrimp has the perfect amount of heat and doesn't take away from the flavor that was what's important for me! I also had a bite of my boyfriend's Shrimp Sub (another item on the menu) and it was so good! I will definitely make the drive into Waimanalo, every Sunday to get my shrimp fix.

Yelped it and since mixed reviews, decided to see for ourself Rice was jasmine? Not my fave but baby liked it. Hubs got the diniguan only plate. He said was #2 fave on island. Just enough blood...I don't know what that means since I don't eat it. He said pretty meaty and not just junk pieces of meat. Baby liked it too. I had lechon and guisantes. Lechon pretty good. Baby liked the tomato/onion more than the lechon. Not super fatty but enough I had to pick it apart. Guisantes was good. Little more tart than I've ever had it. Pork lumpia was nice and crunchy. The flavor was good...didn't need sauce. Super tasty by itself. I think it may have been why I burped garlic all day. Baby and hubs liked banana lumpia. He said crispy and not too sweet. Baby loved the calamari honey juice...it wasn't too sour or sweet. Was good. Everyone was nice. I think we will be back...
