Green and red curries really need heavier, thicker coconut milk and both had a thin broth and need more intensity of flavor. The basil beef stir fry would be better with ground beef rather than chewy slices. The stir fry eggplant with chicken was pretty good served medium hot, but like the basil beef would be better with smaller chunks of meat. Let's just say compared to 4 star rated Siam Garden Cafe on Nimitz, it is not equivalent in taste and quality. read more

Not a fan.....not tasty! Not memorable! Palatable but do not recommend. Coming from the mainland I am insanely fortunate to have been exposed to good Thai food and having visited Thailand dined in authentic cuisine. Ordered a Thai tea ($4) and it was one of the most disgusting drinks I ever had with a bitter/spoiled taste. We also ordered Pad See Ew and Garlic Chicken each priced at $17 but hardly worth $3each. This is a super hole in the wall place with surprisingly nice ambiance in December! Grab a table and enjoy the view of 'Āhuimanu stream as it exits to the ocean. We had the satay chicken, which had a really delicious peanut sauce and pad Thai; which was a bit too sweet for my taste. The woman working the front was really nice and gave us some extra turon (banana lumpia) with coconut (that was delicious!). After visiting the Byono-In temple, the family wanted some Thai food and decided on a small food truck on the side of the road. Also, shout out to food trucks all over Hawaii, since they seem to get a lot of yelp spots. Everyone enjoyed their food, we ordered garlic shrimp, green curry, papaya salad, sweet chili shrimp and shrimp pad Thai. The family was happy and so was I. Just a side note, they actually had a couple of restrooms in back, primitive but clean, I was thankful to say the least. This was a very nice find here in Eastern Oahu. So disappointed in the food. We saw other reviews and were very excited to give it a try. We got vegetarian pad Thai (they were out of tofu), the spring rolls, papaya salad (medium spice). The pad Thai was actually pad SA ew. The noodles were thick and was a little soggy. It tasted good but that's not what we ordered. The noodles to veggie ratio was way off. I wish there would've been more noodles. The spring rolls might've been the best thing we got but this was just an appetizer and we aren't basing this review only on a good appetizer. Serviced with sweet fish sauce dipping sauce. The papaya salad was such a huge serving but tasted so bland. Couldn't tell there was any spicy heat in it. This hidden Thai food truck is located by the Kahalu'u convenient store across of 711. There is parking under the tree right in front of the truck and some benches to sit and enjoy your food. I made a take out order or chicken pad Thai and chicken panang curry. My food was ready in 10 minutes! All their plates are only $11 no tax, cash only. So for my two items I paid only $22! It is such a deal for the amount they give and the food is tasty!! The curry comes with some jasmine rice and lots of curry sauce plus vegetables in it. The pad Thai had so much noodles and the entire container was full to the top! I would definitely recommend this truck and plan to come back to try their other dishes. Soooo good! I got vegetable pad see ew and asked for it hot (7 out of 10 on their hotness scale). It was perfectly spiced. It packed a punch with a lingering burn, but not so hot it masked the other delicious flavors or made it so I couldn't breathe. I really appreciated that - it's hard to get people to believe you want it hot when you're a haoli girl. My partner got shrimp yellow curry, 5 out of 10 on the hot scale. I received a huge pile of broken up super soggy rice noodles drowning in a 3 inch deep oilly salty stew. It also had whole cloves of garlic, not even minced. Pad see ew should be wok fried charred wide rice noodles with a light sweet soy sauce & fish sauce glaze, with Chinese broccoli (gailan) and Thai basil. I am a professional Thai cook, and quite honestly was offended by the oily stew they served me, couldn't even finish it. read more

Tried 2 different dishes, Penang curry, phase see Lew both were filled with fresh veggies with tons of flavors. Portion sizes were large, and the entire dish cost roughly 12 dollars. I really hate to leave a negative review. Truly. But we just ordered from here and here's what was wrong: 1. No mask on man working inside. This seems like bare minimum for restaurateurs right now to do. 2. Pad thai tasted like thin pasta lightly cooked in ketchup. Seriously so bland and not at all like pad thai flavor. 3. Pad see ew smelled so terrible when we got home that we couldn't bring ourselves to try it. My husband determined the noodles were rancid/bad, so we tossed the whole dish. 4. Green curry had ends of bok choy and celery in it. So far from traditional curry. If it had just been one issue I wouldn't be writing a review at all. First off, this little Food Truck has a peaceful little riverscape that is out of this world relaxing! Paired with their yummy homemade dishes and you are in for a real treat. We had Tom Ka soup. It's off menu, but you will not be disappointed. Thai soup comes with chunks of veggies and tender pieces of meat. She puts in what's in season so we got sliced green papaya, bamboo shoots zucchini, onion and broccoli. Slices of galangal, lemongrass and ginger for flavor-don't eat it. This has quickly become my favorite Thai place on the windward side. It's a bright orange food truck with neon green trim. Next to the Hygienic Store on Kahikili Hwy. Tommy and Dawn are friendly and quick. The food is fresh and totally delicious. Not to mention so so so generous! The other week I ate here three times in two days. Haha. It was super awesome. Tried all their curries...they are thick but not curdled. Tasty and spiced to your palate. Tons of veggies. The phad see iew is cooked so well...my sister loves it and says it might just be the best on the island. They have a coconut sticky rice that is sinful. I love it and have to not order it...or I eat the whole thing by myself and suffer the aftermath of expanding rice in the stomach. Pricing is perfect in comparison to what you get. This Thai truck is the same as the one in Hauula, but this was the one that opens today and is willing to take order. I've always like the one in Hauula, and same goes for this one. I only gave this place the stars because I had to deduct points due to cleanliness, ambiance and menu. When it comes to the food to it was just ok. It was not bland but it was decent. In ordered their Tom Yum and Tom Kah soup. Along with the garlic chicken and panang curry. Out of all of those nothing really blew my taste buds off but they did carry the traditional Thai taste. I've never had Tom Kah soup with peanut butter, it's normally done with coconut milk. The serving size was big. Which was a good thing. Each entree came with white rice. So for the price it's a good buy. Like I said above, they truck needs a few updates. The cleanliness needs to step up a bit. The menu should be updated as well. Hubby and I have been passing this bright orange Thai food truck tucked away next to the Hygenics store & across from Calvary Church for YEARS now, why we never stopped was our mistake! Husband wanted Thai & decided to drive the 1.5 mile drive from our house to Orange & Neon Green Thai food truck. I knew they take cash only since I stopped here once. I wanted Spring rolls & Phad Thai and he ordered the Galic chicken & Coconut sticky rice. The man was nice enough to give us a Fried Salmon plate since it was our first time. Everything was under $11 each and generous portions. When hubby came home, I opened up my $8 Spring rolls, and there must've been 6-8 full sized vegetable rolls, nicely crisp! Very generous portion! Sticky rice was perfect, Pad Thai delicious and the salmon was perfect. I wasn't impressed with the garlic chicken, but hubby liked it. Plates have the cabbage fixings & rice with them too. I ordered the eggplant stri fry and honestly it's the best I ever had. I'm from California and there's a lot of great food out there so I'm surprised that a little food truck made this dish very well.
