The store is clean with plenty of seating & our orders were brought to our tables very quickly after ordering. 1st the wings: WOW! They were hot, delicious & had an outstanding crunch to them! They disappeared in seconds! Our bowls were equally tasty & filled with a great mix of rice, beef, & lots of veggies! Love Bulbap Grill! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and give great recommendations. The food is portioned very very well and very flavorful. The lunch special is an excellent value and you get a great selection for your buck. I really can't think of something I didn't like on the menu but have to definitely recommend the bowls. Food was OK, but a bit pricey. Bulgari rice bowl you get a lot of meat, but the galbi tastes better with the smokey grill taste. The other toppings were just cold dishes added on. Not bad, but probably wouldn't go again for the value. The two is pretty good, but pricey for the galbi. Not enough meat to justify the additional cost, but the mayo sauce is tasty. Wishing this restaurant was a lot closer to home because it's a hidden gem! Stumbled upon this restaurant on the way home from a beach day and was craving Korean food. My husband found this spot, thanks to yelp, and it does not disappoint. Great spot to dine in or take out. They have daily specials, lunch specials, and combo specials. There's also dessert to completely satisfy hungry customers. The restaurant itself is really clean, easy to order, and although you pay upon ordering, the food is brought to your table. My friends and I ordered the rice bowl combo for $30. It consisted of 2 rice bowls, wings or dumplings, and 2 drinks. If you want galbi it's an extra $1.50 but soooo worth it. Portion was great. If you are in the mood for Korean food then this is a good spot to go to. Its located next to Shoprite with plenty of parking. They have a good amount of tables with a fountain drink refill station. Its the Korean Chipotle and the food is very good. The main stay dish to order is the Ba Bim Bop, definitely the recommended dish to try. I'm extremely disappointed. I ordered kimchi fried rice, rice cake dish with fish cakes , beef dumpling and wings and everything was just not good. The flavor was SO bad and bland. I DONT give bad reviews but I spent so much money on food and was so disappointed with all of it. I hope this place gets it together but I will never order from here again read more

Food was ok. a bit expensive for the price The amount of food you get isn't really worth it. I got the galbi bowl with a fried egg. My sister got the bulgogi. The galbi was definitely better, but still not the best. We were craving korean food and this is the only one around the area. It's good enough to satisfy a korean food craving, but if you want really good korean food, i would recommend going up towards Edison or even Fort Lee. This is a great place to grab some Korean food if you don't feel like making the trek to Edison. I usually come here with a party of 2 where we get the special of two bowls, two drinks, and either dumplings/wings to share for somewhere around $25 which I feel is worth it. They stuff the bowls to the brim and the flavor is on point. My favorite are the bulgogi and Kalbi bowls. For wings I love the garlic soy flavor. I don't review places at all and you can check my profile to prove that but I need to say something based on 1 specific negative review that was just completely untrue. This place is run by some of the nicest people and the food defiantly shows how much they care about their product. This is a quicker Korean food experience unlike other Korean restaurants that can cost probably close to 100 dollars for a meal for 2. My personal favorite is the Kimchi Soondubu Soup. Right amount of heat, perfectly cooked veggies right in the soup and the kimchi doesn't overpower the dish but sits just right. Add white rice into a few bites and it's heaven. I've also had the bibimbap and bulgogi bowls and also all the flavors were on point. Well seasoned meats, fresh veggies, warm rice, sauces were great, what more can you ask? And the wings are also great! The spicy ones had the right amount of heat as well, nicely seasoned, great crisp to each bite, there's no way you can just have one! Now the place isn't michelin star Korean food but its still great for small suburban Monmouth county. If you truly didn't like the food there's no reason to say you've been fooled by reviews or say the restaurant doesn't care about their food. I hope people find this helpful and ignore certain negative posts that are simply just not true. I've come here a few times for both lunch and dinner. Excellent service and the food is very good and fresh. I have tried several menu items, you really can't go wrong but the galbi dol sit bi bim bap is my go to: short rib, rice, fresh veggies, and an egg served in a hot stone bowl. Let the rice crisp up for a little bit before stirring (my favorite part besides the meat) Their kim chi is also yummy and since my daughter doesn't eat hers, I usually have 2 servings;) They also have daily specials M-F and can also order ahead. Ok, I like Korean food and often times crave it. Well my bro asked me to grab lunch yesterday and we were close to Bulbap, reviews looked promising... We ordered the two bowl special with dumplings. I order kalbi and bro order bipmibap. Both were mediocre at best, not the sweet and spicy korean we are used to. Just blah.... rice was crispy, either old or undercooked. Just didn't do it for us. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible but not the authentic Korean we've had in Manhattan or Edgewater NJ. Vegetables were fresh and tasty, kimchi was delicious but the meats were just plain boring The fried chicken dumplings were excellent. For 1pm on a Friday they were dead. When I'm in need of Korean food, I usually have to travel about 50 minutes to get to Edison area. Now it's just 16 minutes away?! Heck yeah! I'm a happy woman. After a long day, I grab my hubby and we head out there with great anticipation. Mind you, I purposely choose not to read any of my awesome fellow Yelpers reviews bc I didn't want anyone(s) experience to influence mine. We ordered the combo hot stone bowl with marinated meat in mine and tofu for hubby. We get soondubu (tofu soup) with a drink. Our orders came with Korean spicy sauce and kimchee. My god they served up some excellent kimchee! I wish with all my heart I could say that about the meat and tofu. While both had excellent taste, it tasted like they cooked it prior and when someone orders it, they add their spices and reheat it. The meat was not tender but it was tasty. Hubby's tofu was a little rubbery so that's a clear indication it wasn't fresh. Yes, we often eat half and switch, lol. There's no banchan other than the kimchee. For the cost of this meal, you're better off going to a real Korean restaurant and ordering the exact same dish. You'd get banchan along with it AND after you're done with your stone bowl dish, the real restaurant would come out with clear broth for you to put into your bowl to get the crispy rice out. Think of it as part two of a two part meal. Better value for the money. Onto the atmosphere. I like they're benched seats against the wall. They have these heavy foamed cushions. Too bad they slide when you sit down. I just slid it back into place. Then I looked at the nearby tables. It wasn't that busy and yet nobody cleaned the table. I found a chicken drumsticks on the floor and nobody cleaned it up. After your meal, you are expected to carry your bowl and stuff to the appropriate bins. One for bowls, one for garbage, etc. I get that but come on, someone should get a rag and wipe down the tables. Ok, enough with the tables. Look up. They took buckets and used them as lamp fixtures. This place is definitely new (I can tell by how clean the interior is) but I'm already planning my next visit! I love the unique light fixtures (they're tiny buckets) and the modern clean interior design. The service was a bit slow (but that's completely understandable because the staff is new, as is the business itself) but the wait was not unbearable by any means. Besides, the food. It is SO worth the wait! The galbi sliders are not only beautiful to look at BUT dangerously addictive. I only ordered one because I wasn't really hungry, but after my first bite, I immediately regretted not having gotten more. The sliders are around $4 each (if I'm remembering correctly). Such a great deal! The galbi slider isn't too heavy or too light. There are pickled vegetables to cut through the sweet meat-y galbi patty. The patty literally melts in your mouth too! Cute new little spot conveniently situated on Route 9. Friendly and courteous staff, clean and modern decor. The menu options are very diverse and unique, so I'd like to come back again and try more things. Came with a group of girlfriends for dinner on a weeknight and we were easily able to connect some tables together to accommodate the 7 of us (they don't take reservations but a lot of their clientele opts for takeout so I imagine it doesn't get too crowded inside during the week). I got the Bibimbap bowl with fried egg on top which was good - definitely fast food level quality but can't complain. Definitely try their teas! Now for the teaser and caption to my photo! As my one friend and I arrived early and waited on the rest of the girls, the manager brought out a new dessert they were testing out. I forget the name specifically but it's essentially a shaved milk - which feels kind of like snow in your mouth - topped with some little bits of sweet cereal and mochi chunks. I enjoy eating at this restaurant for take out when I visit Home Depot or ShopRite in the same mall. Service was quick and the little wait to cook the food was well worth it. The fish taco I would not recommend it was very bland and not a lot of a fish portion. Both the short rib bowl and chicken bowl was a great size portion. We definitely left stuffed. The meals were just OK in our opinion. It was nice to get out for lunch. It was the first time back sitting in a restaurant. So it was nice to feel normal. I went here recently, this was during the whole covid-19 time and the lobby was closed and you can only come and pick up and take out! The facility was clean and they took proper measures to make sure everyone was shielded! 5/5 safety and cleanliness I got the bowl combo where you get 2 bowls and side I think it was $30! I got the galbi bowl (short ribs) and bulgogi bowl (beef) along with 6x wings with soy garlic! The bowls were huge and very filling, I liked the galbi bowl more than bulgogi because it had a slight bbq taste to it and had that nice char taste, it just complimented the vegetables so well, almost like you didn't need any sauces! The bulgogi bowl was good, but I felt like it need some sauce to spice it up a bit, also holy moley, the wings were huge and crispy! That combo meal is a good deal because you get a side as well! When you walk in, it's a little confusing to where you order and where you pay - I only say that because while I didn't think it was confusing after I placed my order talking to owner a family walked in and went to pick up side and placed an order there while I was done and just waiting to pay. My only other minor complaint is that I ordered a soft drink and when I found the lemonade was out and just dispensing water - I let them know at the counter and all I got was an awww thanks for telling us. (I was fine switch to another soft drink but an offer to change my drink out or refund it if I didn't like anything else would have been better). I really enjoyed coming to this NEW restaurant in Marlboro. It is located in the Shop Rite strip mall, so a bit of tough parking trying to get a spot close. Very clean restaurant, attentive staff. We ordered the bibimbap bowl and the Jae Yuk Bulbap bowl. Both were very good, I would consider ordering the Jae Yuk bowl next time for some meat. They have fountain drinks available, or soda cans too. It was a very cold day so every time someone came in, it drafted in. I hope the restaurant gets some type of heater system to put right under the door like other restaurants...as my husband and I ate with our jackets on. read more

Got the odeng stew, jaeyuk bowl, and 6 piece fried chicken. Was expecting some small portions based on Yelp pics, but id say it exceed my expectations.
