This was a delicious place to try for lunch. I was pleasantly greeted and received recommendations as it was my first time visiting and trying the lunch special. The lunch special was one of the rice bowls, 2 dumplings and a drink for $16.50. I sat down and less than 10 minutes later the food was brought out to me. I went the galbi bowl which had short rib, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, zucchini and served on the side was kimchi, soy sauce and gochuchang sauce. The short rib was so tender and the vegetables were all nice and crisp. I loved the mushrooms the most. The staff looked busy but we were able to put our order in a timely manner. The place is spacious with plenty of seating. I ordered the galbi burger supreme with fries and a soda. I was expecting two 1/4 patties but when it came out they were massive patties! There's a regular galbi burger option which is slightly cheaper but the supreme is the better bang for your buck. The burger tasted good. It came with bacon but honestly didn't really taste it. The cabbage and mayo on the burger were really good. The buns were a bit soggy though. The spicy chicken dumplings were perfectly fried with a nice filling of spicy delicious chicken. It was served with a soy sauce. The Jaeyunk bowl was awesome, especially drizzled with the truffle Mayo and paired with kimchi. The pork was flavored perfectly. The real winner of this meal was the galbi supreme burger. For $12.95 we had no idea how large this burger would be. Wow! It had two huge patties, bacon, a fried egg, and slaw. The burger had a perfect char, and the galbi sauce was nothing short of smoky, saucy, garlicky deliciousness. They also had homemade ice teas. Food: the food is not super traditional but has an interesting modern take on it! The kimchi was good, the bulgogi, and kalbi so that's definitely a star! Cost: the price of everything is average- korean food can get pretty expensive (kalbi at a restaurant can go up to $30+ per serving) so for a rice bowl with kalbi to be just a little over $10 is fine in my opinion. Environment: the place feels very casual. I like how bright it is inside and not dark- a lot of natural light through the big windows too! The layout is pretty simple with the seating on one side and the ordering station on the other. Service: Service was fantastic! Even though the you have to go order the food yourself then sit down, the then takes over to bring you the food and stuff. It didn't took long before I know it, I'm at the counter placing my lunch order. I had seafood soondubu (spicy seafood stew) that comes with white rice and Kim chi. The seasoning was okay and there is definitely plenty of squid and octopus. My husband ordered the large bulgogi rice bowl which also came with a side of Kim chi and it was delicious. Yes, I tasted a sample as I couldn't resist. Our kids shared the chicken wrap, which is a fusion of east meets west. The wrap is pretty large and by the look of their faces, the wrap must tastes delicious as they are quietly and no complaints. There's soda fountain which a plus on my book for free refills. There's plenty of parking here as it's a shared lot with ShopRite next door. The restaurant is clean. You go to the counter and place your order and they will bring out the food to your seating. There's a few tall tables at the center of the restaurant and shorter tables along the side of the restaurant wall. Bulbap Grill serves Korean food with a modern spin - tacos, bowls, burgers, sliders, wings, etc. Everything is made to order with fresh ingredients and delivered with a smile. Very food! I've been here close to a dozen times since my last review and am glad I didn't give up on this business. Marlboro is in dire need of good ethic cuisine. This place fits the bill as who doesn't love tacos and burgers. Also, bowls are so convenient for a quick bite. Best bets here are the kalbi bowls and spicy pork bowls. I get them all the time! You can customize with different proteins, veggies and condiments. The tacos are great as well! I love the fish tacos with the spicy aioli. I was going to give only 4 stars because I think their Korean chicken wings are too salty and the Soondubu is just ok. I wish you could customize the spice level of the tofu soup and wish there were more pieces of tofu. However, I rounded up to 5 because this is a hard working business and the owners are very friendly and there is always a coupon to thank their patrons when ordering out. Bulbap is a new concept to me. I've only had Korean food at traditional Korean restaurants. Bulbap is a fast food version of your traditional Korean restaurant. When you walk in there is a menu directly in front of you that they recently added. There is also a menu above the registers and there are specials listed near the registers too. Order at the registers, pay and take a seat while your food is prepared. Although it's a fast food set up I wouldn't say everything is served particularly fast. If you're in a rush it may be best to order ahead. The sauces they use here are sweeter than I prefer but still delicious. Prices are just as much as a traditional restaurant for certain dishes. Still, not a bad stop if you're in the immediate area and need a Korean food fix. read more

This is a Korean take-out / counter-service establishment with a spacious eat-in interior. It's clean and inviting, with a jumbo bright sign outside. It's a great concept for the area but there are some things that need to be improved on. Service is very friendly and polite but not customer service oriented. The ordering system is a bit disorganized with 2 entry points on opposite sides, one of which says pick-up. also, there is no way to tell your food is ready unless you constantly go to the counter and check. They call the name but it's not loud enough to hear from the seating. At least hmart has a buzzer system. We noticed another woman came out to take orders with an iPad when it got busier. Friendly, upbeat with lots of smiles. Unfortunately, we didn't get her but she seemed helpful. I watched her explain the different menu options, how their menu options work and popular items to other customers. There were no language barriers with her. We placed our order with the guy who looks like the owner. Unfortunately, he misunderstood our order and we ended up with something we didn't order and missing something that we did order. We ordered 2 combos (galbi beef combo and the stone pot combo). the combo includes any of their bowls with a small soon dobu soup and a drink for $3 more. Skip the combo unless you want to purchase a bottled drink anyway. The soon dobu soup is a very small side soup and does not include their usual choice of beef, kimchi or seafood. I did not realize this so when I placed my order and gave him the side soup selection of beef, he put it in as an entree soup. I had also placed an order of wings but it got lost in translation when my husband was talking to me (not to the guy) and told me he didn't want wings but get it for the kids. When our food was ready, I pointed out that the errors and the guy was insistent that this is what I ordered and that I hadn't wanted the wings. I accepted our food and just put in another order of wings. The food: The galbi stone pot is the saving grace here! Galbi stone pot- this was very good. It's probably one of the best stone pots I've had. Rice was perfectly crispy at the bottom and the food was piping hot! Lucky for me, this was my order! This also seems to be their most popular dish. The rest of the family didn't fare as well Hubby got the galbi beef bowl. The food and ingredients were the same as the galbi stone pot but the food was cold and there is no crispy rice. The soon dobu soups- their version is very different from what I am used to. It was more similar to a twisted version of spicy minestrone soup than soon dobu. There were vegetables like zucchini, squash, onions and instead of getting a large block of soft tofu, there were small square chunks of tofu. The wings were not good. We ordered the hot flavor. It was heavily breaded and not crispy or crunchy. It was spicy but also a bit sweet. They just added bingsoo (shaved ice) to their menu but we skipped it for now. We will probably be back for the stone pot and to try the bing soo next time but skip the rest of the menu. read more
