I was looking for an Asian restaurant with variety and chose Sizzlin Stirfry. I also chose it due to location & ample parking. There were many patrons there when we arrived, party of 2. We were able to pick where we wanted to sit. The service was great. There are several tables inside, as well as a few outside. We both took sometime to order, but finally decided. The food came out in a decent amount of time and was fresh and tasty. I didn't really love my meal, but liked it, I should have gotten the curry instead of sesame chicken. My friend said she enjoyed her meal, but should have upped her spice level. She ordered the Singapore noodles, medium. I absolutely love this place! It is the most unassuming place so I did not know what to expect when they first opened. It has become our go-to spot for fresh delicious food. It's a bit of an Asian/Indian fusion. Everything we have ordered has been amazing. I really like the Szechuan noodle bowl and the gobi Manchurian. They make an excellent mojito too! Keep in mind that every single dish is made fresh when you order it so sometimes there is a bit of a wait on receiving your order while other times the food comes out quickly. Quality ingredients accompanied with flavor and appropriate portions. They have cocktails, mocktails and soft drinks. However, rather than providing a glass of water or glass of cola you will recieve a small bottle of water or canned cola. Service here has been hit or miss. We were once greated at the door and told their was a large take out order being prepared and we would have to wait 30 plus minutes for service despite a completely empty dining area. A second time each of our parties orders came out one at a time with a delay between each person's dish. My wife was the last to receive her meal and the order was wrong causing a further delay as she waited for the re-fire. Unfortunately, this restaurant is trying to do too many things at once. They try to do Asian dishes from many different countries from India to Thailand to China. Unfortunately, by doing this, they don't hit the mark on any one dish. For example, you can see that the Thai curry dish that we got was crazy oily. There was so much oil in the dish that it was almost impossible to eat. They also don't even have different Thai curries. They just generalize all the different curries into one Americanized version. What's even worse is that they decided to serve the Thai curry with packets of ketchup and soy sauce. That was so bizarre as neither of those go with this dish. This just shows that they have no basic knowledge of what Thai dishes are served with. I would really suggest to the restaurant to focus the menu on fewer dishes from fewer restaurants, and just make those as good as possible. read more

This is a delightful Asian restaurant which appears to be run by an Indian family. It's fantastic! Sizzling Stirfry offers a variety of Asian dishes with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options in a casual dining environment. My wife had the sweet corn soup and egg rolls. She loved the soup. The egg rolls come with the chefs special sauce which is sweet with the faintest hint of heat. The egg rolls themselves had a unique seasoning which was outstanding. I had the the Thai curry with medium spice. Medium spice here is pretty spicy. I may go for this just a bit less spicy next time. The sauce was thicker than a traditional yellow curry more like the consistency of Japanese curry. The server talked me into a mango lassi. It was delicious. Service was outstanding!!! This was our second time trying this restaurant and it was delicious!!! We came for lunch on Sunday and was sat instantly. We ordered the Manchurian Gravy veg balls with white rice and street style fried noodles with egg. I was expecting the fried noodles to be crispy, but they weren't, but still delicious. Wish there was a bit more egg in it. We got both entrees at spice level 5 and it was medium spicy. Not too spicy, but spicy enough to have a kick. The Veg balls had so much delicious sauce! Portions were perfect for 2 people and we had leftovers of both entrees. Server was attentive and checked in to make sure we enjoyed our food. We shared appetizers and main dishes all of which were tasty, the staff (the owners?) extremely friendly, and the dishes served in a timely fashion. The ambience so-so, not a romantic vibe by any means, although a good informal or family destination, or just a place to grab a nosh. A good value and, of the entrees, the Mongolian chicken was voted the best, followed by the Thai curry. Both ordered medium-hot but nice and not too spicy. Ordered a little heat to the sweet & sour, and just a little heat to the fried rice. The result was a fried rice packed with heat and nothing in the sweet & sour. The food was decent but nothing jumped out (except the unexpected heat from the fried rice!). When the order was ready, the guy from the back just put the bag on a table near the bar and the guy who took the order was too busy in the phone to let me know it was mine. It could have been an off night but for now, I'd say skip the place and go to Tasu in Brierdale. read more

Service and ambience aren't what's great about this place, it's the food! If you like south Asian cuisine, this is the place. We love all of their noodle dishes, the chili corn, and the Manchurian chicken, but honestly we haven't had a bad meal here yet. One thing to keep in mind, their dishes are fairly spicy so order one level lower than you'd usually get elsewhere. And don't forget the gulab jamun! read more

Tried this place for the first time this evening. Started with spring rolls which seemed freshly made with spicy sauce - excellent! Tried the crispy dumplings- also fresh, hot and delicious. My companion got the egg drop soup which she said was ok. Then we split the Asian stir fry chicken with noodles and we both loved that - so flavorful! The service was excellent and fast/friendly. The bill comes, they have the swipe tablet which I like as my card never leaves my sight. The only surprise was they do charge for each iced tea refill which is unusual in these parts but not excessive. The place is small, maybe 8 tables total. There was a lot of takeout traffic. The guy taking orders were sweet and patience as he answered all my questions. The restaurant was clean and low key, not but at all but there were people coming in after me. i really enjoyed this place! the inside is pretty small, and the decor is really nice. we were able to walk in and sit at any table. they don't have paper menus, and the qr code order/pay thing is easy on an iphone. the food didn't take too long to come out. we ordered both the garlic basil curry and the streetstyle fried noodles at a "medium" spice level. both were really delicious; i would order either again! i especially liked the fried veg balls in the curry, which i was skeptical about before ordering. but they were really good! the noodles were tasty, but if they were a medium, i don't even want to think about what "very very spicy" means here! usually medium is perfect for me at other indian/indochinese places, sometimes even too mild, but the medium here was actually quite spicy. next time, i'll order it mild. read more

We recently visited the restaurant and we had horrible experience. We ordered veg momo and they gave us chicken momo. I am pure vegetarian and never eaten eggs also. We already at 1 momo per person and then we realised that this is chicken momo. We were terrified. When we told the owner and waiter that we are vegetarian and this is their biggest mistake and we didn't expect this. They didn't even feel sorry about that and didn't offer us to change and give another veg plate of momo. Owner was also not kind enough to come and say sorry as that was her mistake as she served us non veg plate. My daughter didnt eat that day after this incident and slept hungry. Thai curry was also horrible. It was like normal indian curry with coconut milk and indian rice not sticky rice. If they dont know the authentic recipe then they should not serve. I will never ever recommend this restaurant to anyone even my enemies. read more

Wow! Really impressed with this place. Found it via a Yelp search after an unexpected detour to Wake Med after my mom dislocated her shoulder at the airport just prior to a flight. We had time to kill and were looking for a place with vegetarian options that was close by and this fit the bill. Menu was extensive and seems to be a fusion of Indian and other Asian cuisines such as Thai. Everything we ordered was outstanding - we got the Gobi Manchurian and egg roll appetizers (best GM I've ever had!), and for enteees we had the Szechuan sauce with chicken and veggies (delicious and quite spicy!) and street noodles. It lacked more flavor/spice Following main dishes were ordered to share for two (medium spice): - veg balls in schzewan sauce: really good, the veg balls were very flavorful and went well with the gravy. I recommend this dish. - Chow Mein noodles: this didn't taste anything like chow mein noodles (comparing this to restaurants in Mumbai or other cities in india). All I tasted was soy sauce... a few other friends ordered noodle dishes and they all looked the same to us, just difference in colors. Overall food was great. We ordered multiple things to try out and went home with many leftovers. For starters, we had Crispy corn - amazing Hot & sour soup - yum! For the main course Cauliflower Manchurian - we asked them to make it a little saucy, and it tasted perfect. Veg Hakka noodles - tasted very different from those I am used to, but it was ok. It had fewer noodles and more veggies. That strong Asian food craving was in full effect, and my mind was set on discovering a new establishment. This new spot replaced the previous Which Wich in Brier Creek, and they turned the place into a vibrant and modern Asian restaurant. Definitely a well done upfit to the space! Anyhow, I had to call in to place my take-out order, and the staff member was extremely pleasant. It was about 6:30pm and it took about 20 mins for them to get the order ready. I went to pick up and was welcomed in and picked up my order quickly. They have ample seating inside and a full bar with 4 beer taps. There were also a few tables outside for patrons to enjoy. As for the food, everything was remarkable. I ordered Hot and Sour Soup, Spring Rolls, Szechuan Fried Rice with Egg, Jerk Spiced Chicken Wings and Chicken Manchurian. Everything was ordered to a Medium Spice level, and that was definitely ample spice in my opinion. Especially those Jerk Spiced Wings, they pack a mean punch so beware!
