I was looking to help the brothers out. They were standing around in the hot sun on a Saturday afternoon. The car wash is the old-fashioned kind with the huge brushes that go over your car. My vehicle was cleaned, and then, at my request, a couple of the brothers cleaned my rims. I will give them an 8/10 because I am particular and like to see them sparkling clean. Went to the car wash today and was told I'd need to pay 50% more than the advertised price because I had mud and salt on my car. I thought they were kidding but he said that the salt breaks their machines and therefore I had to pay an extra charge. This was the most insane thing that I had to pay extra at a car wash because my car was dirty. Keep in mind I was not looking for hand washing. It was just the machine drive through. I desperately want to frequent local businesses. I was dissatisfied the last time I had my car washed here, but, wanted to give them another chance. So I did. I bought the deluxe service plus the up charge for a small SUV to vacuum the back. When I got the car back, it was as if my vehicle had not been vacuumed. I asked if they would re-vacuum it. They did. The manager came over to tell me that my vehicle needed more service than I purchased. He said they had spent 2 1/2 minutes vacuuming my car. And that was the service I paid for. He went on to say that if I go to McDonald's and order a hamburger, and I'm still hungry, then that's my fault that I didn't order more. I stated the fact that either my vehicle had not been vacuumed or it was done poorly. I will never go back to this place. read more

I had a really good experience here! They were quick and very detailed when it came to cleaning my vehicle. When they were finished I got to inspect my vehicle before leaving. You know it's bad when you pay $40 to have your car cleaned only to leave and go straight to the carwash to clean your car. They did not wipe the dash board down, the outside of my car looked as it had not been washed, my windows were still dirty, my seats were not vacuumed and I grab a rag so I could at least wipe the center console and was told I couldn't use it. I went there a while back. My car was somewhat dirty on the outside but not out of the normal range. The manager said they "could not wash it without a $50 chemical bath". Translation: they would not wash my car unless I paid an additional $50. Baloney. I drove away. Don't go to this place unless your car is already pretty clean. read more

Very poor job of cleaning the interior. I ordered the Managers Special, which was a complete package and the most expensive and it was left dirty. Years ago I used this car wash and I was pleased with their work. No more. While visiting relatives, I drove to this wash and asked for an inside and outside car wash. I noticed that it was $36 which seemed high, but I agreed. They did a sloppy job and when I called to their attention several areas of the interior floor, they were miffed. Car washes here were never stellar but they were convenient and a local business so I used them. This time however my car came out of the wash with fine scratches down one side. When I immediately returned to show them (I did not ask them to do anything about it just wanted the to know) the manager was extremely belligerent and rude and told me there was no way that had happened in the car wash. I certainly won't be returning for a crappy car wash AND car damage that I have to pay for. I urge others to avoid this business with their poor quality and offensive costumer service. Ugh where do I begin. I paid $197 plus a 10 percent tip for the "interior detail". They did a great job vacuuming...but that's all I could really say. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PEOPLE TO COME HERE. They didn't even clean my window shield. As we drove off my girlfriend pointed out to me that her hand print that she put there 3 months ago was still there. And their was still finger prints all over my side (driver). There was still stains in my carpet and seats. The part that really trigger me was it took them maybe an hour and a half to 2 and Im sure that most of that time was for the seats and carpets to dry off. The best part about this service was I got into a car that wasn't wet. My vehicle still smelled bad after the detail as well. I would have been much more satisfied if I paid $20-25. Sad attempt at vacuuming, didn't wipe down the interior windows or rear view mirror, barely ran a rag across the dash as I watched him spend less than a minute on the interior. Never again. The absolutely worst car wash I have ever been to. I paid extra to have my car supposedly deep cleaned wipe down the dash & the doors.The vacuum job looked like it had exploded in my car. Trash was also left under the seats. I asked for a rag to do it myself & it only had water on it. called back and they asked me to return and have my car re-washed really? Had a $23 ( plus $5 tip) car wash that included : Car wash machine Vacuum Hand drying Window cleaning Wheel cleaning The intake gentleman was friendly as was the cashier, but the quality was "meh". Not horrible but not great. They missed a few spots on the windows, the wash machine didn't get all the dirt, and I don't think they actually did the tires. Not sure I will return. read more

Love this place!!! I came early in the morning when they opened, and was in and out in a flash. Employees are courteous and efficient, and my car is cleaner than a similar service in our neighborhood. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of service (much cheaper than DC area!) and they also offer discounts to women on Wednesdays (10% off) and to Duke students and employees (also 10% off). We got the $30 wash and express detail, and my car went from grubby to gleaming in about 20 minutes. (A benefit of going early in the morning!) All in all, we loved it here. i thought i had everything under control after a long night of fun. As the DD, i was somewhat prepared for 'sick' passengers. I handed my friend in the front seat a cup in case her dinner and beverages decided to disagree with her. Success, upheaval was controlled... until, she fell asleep and the cup went tumbling down her side pouring the contents between the door and the seat. Needless to say, Bull City Car wash was able to save my car of looking and smelling yucky. With an extra $10, they were able to shampoo any remaining upchuck from my floors and it looked brand new! The rest of my car was clean with no window smudges (my pet peeve). Not to mention great service! read more

About 5 seconds after rolling out of the driveway after having my car cleaned, I noticed a tear in the leather steering wheel. It certainly wasn't there before so I rolled back into the lot. The owner of the business came out and repeatedly told me he didn't know how it could have happened. I told him that understanding how it happened wasn't that much of a concern to me. All I know is that it did happen and that having my steering wheel repaired was going to cost me more than the "deluxe" wash did. He then made me sit in the parking lot while he went to try to find out what happened. 20 minutes later he came back and said he didn't think they did it. I was fairly upset and asked if he thought I was lying. He pointed angrily to the street, said "the exit is right there" and stormed off. I would not go here again. I asked for an inside/outside job on my compact SUV and paid $69 for a poorly done $20-$40 job, (what it would have been worth if done well). The guys were super nice, but the standard of work was so low, as to be slap-dash/sloppy. Interior surfaces not wiped down. Grass and muck still left on carpet in places. Just not at all what anyone would expect. Also, at first they ticketed me a $55 quote, and then at register told me no, it's $65. I didn't argue. I'm just not going back. This is the worst experience I've ever had at a car wash! The blowers blew my tire cover off of my car and I saw it just laying in the parking lot. They put it back on the it was so deeply scratched and damaged and they take NO responsibility for It! Pretty much said it is my fault! This car has been through hurricanes and many other cash washes, this cover I zippered and on secure! At exactly the same time another customer had the molding blown off of her car! I'm in the Durham quite a bit and needed my car desperately washed after driving from NYC. When I pulled in they were quite friendly which is always appreciated. However when I got out and went inside to pay. It was the longest wait of my life. I actually had to wait 35 mins for my car to be ran through the wash. Maybe it's the New Yorker in me but that was much too long of a wait. Then it wasn't even an amazing job that I would expect for $25.00. Just a total disappointment for the wait and the money that I spent. I get it the pith is a bit slower but 35 entire mins to wait for a subpar job. Bull City Car Wash clearly took advantage of my girlfriend, a 23 year old college student. On 10/22/21, my girlfriend called to see how much it would be to clean throw up out of a car. My girlfriend was explicit that the only reason she was going was to clean out throw up. Knowing this, the employee said the price to clean the car would be $180. My girlfriend scheduled the appointment based on this price. Upon arrival, an employee inspected the car. Again, the employee confirmed that they would be cleaning out the throw up. There was no mention of any additional fees. 2 hours after dropping off the car, we received a call saying there would be an additional $50 fee for the throw up. This surprised us, since the employee had not made any mention of an additional fees even after inspecting the car. To make matters worse, an hour later we received another call saying the fee would actually be $65. Thus, not only was an additional fee added without our knowledge, this fee was then increased, again without our consent. When we arrived, we addressed our complaints to the manager. He refused to even entertain our questions, and withheld the car keys until the full amount was paid. In total, the cost was $265, $85 more than we were told. Put simply, this lack of transparency is very concerning. I find it especially concerning that the victim of this scamming was a young college female. It strikes me as a clear example of a company taking advantage of vulnerable customers. read more

In short, I would do my best to find a different car wash to frequent if you can. For the long review, read below. I have twice paid for a full detail wash here. The price is over $250 after taxes and tip, and in each case my car was returned with dirt in most nooks and crannies of the car. I am not talking about minor dust--I found a full wasps nest inside the door that could be flicked away with a finger. I understand details can be missed, so I have given the car wash a second chance. Turns out, the second experience was worse than the first. The same dirt in the same nooks and crannies on the exterior. On the interior they had not vacuumed portions of the carpet, had not properly dusted inside the consoles (i even found usded candy wrappers). Again, I forgive mistakes, but when I brought the car back, the customer service basically tried to make me feel it was my fault the car was not cleaned properly, stating that they do not have "time" to get to everything (mind you this is a $250 car wash) and despite their website claiming to have state of the art cleaning equipment, they could barely be bothered to use a damp rag on most items. When I picked up my car the second time, they had addressed the issues I brought up, but did not even have the courtesy to wipe down the car from dust that had accumulated in their parking lot over the two days I left it there to be cleaned. In fact, they refused to do so letting me know the car had been complete the day before. Rude, uncaring, and undisciplined car wash. While I know it is convenient and difficult to find a car wash in the local area. I highly recommend taking the time to drive somewhere else. read more

I called this place wanting an estimate to clean throw up out of my car and they quoted me $180 and did not inform me of any extra fee for cleaning the throw up. Then, about an hour after I drop my car off to get detailed, they call me to tell me that there will be an additional $50 biohazard fee, which they neglected to inform me of when I initially called. I was upset that I did not know about this before I dropped my car off, but I have no choice but to pay the fee so I accept the additional charge, now expecting to pay $230. When I go to pick up my car, the manager rings me up for $265, and tells me the biohazard fee was actually $65, even though half an hour before I was told over the phone it would be $50. I told him about my experience and how I was informed of the wrong price not once but twice before I picked up my car, and he refused to budge and clearly did not care that his customer had a very poor experience and felt scammed. He responded to me very inappropriately and unprofessionally, telling me that I owed what I owed regardless of what his employees had told me on the phone the previous 2 times I was quoted a price. I am disgusted at the lack of professionalism and awful communication I experienced here. I feel very manipulated and taken advantage of, and will never take my car here again.
