You know how the story goes: boy meets girl. They fall in love, get married, and live overseas for a bit. They have a kid and then end up moving back to their home country. They repatriate and go all-in on the American Dream: live in a house, buy a car. Then their toddler child views Mommy's car as a fun place to eat crumbly snacks and safeguard all their treasures from outside: leaves, sticks, rocks, dirt. Mommy is so tired taking care of said toddler and working full-time that keeping her car clean is the least of her worries. She neglects to clean the car for 1.5 years because #momlife. (She is not exaggerating.) Daddy becomes increasingly disturbed with the state of Mommy's car that he insists he takes it to the hand car wash he discovered a few weeks back. Mommy gives Daddy her blessing and off he goes. While waiting, Daddy gives Mommy a play by play. Daddy: There are 4 guys cleaning the car. Mommy: Oh gosh they are going to see some things. Daddy: Yours is the dirtiest car here. Mommy: Tell me something I don't know. The results? Miraculous! When Daddy pulled up, it was as if he just drove the car off the lot. For me, it was the detailing on the wheels. My goodness. Many thanks to the team at Perfect Touch for giving Mommy's car a much needed makeover and interior cleaning. She's pretty sure you would've preferred to wear a hazmat suit while doing so but thanks for refraining so she wouldn't be too embarrassed. I went to Perfect Touch carwash ar 2212 S. Miami Blvd in Durham today with the expectation to get my car washed /detailed. Instead, my car was returned to me with a newly cracked windshield. The owner was not there so I showed it to the manager and the employees involved with my car. The manager never apologized for the newly acquired damage, did not express authentic concern, and certainly took no form of responsibility. Instead, I was given a made up theory of what might of happened: that the cold water combined with the hot weather caused the crack in the windshield. This sounded absolutely ridiculous as there were other vehicles there in the same weather conditions without suddenly cracked windshields. I requested to see the video, which was of extremely poor quality, ike a 1991 VHS home video. I later decided to speak to the owner, David Matlock by phone.  Upon identifying myself he immediately cut me off and said in a hostile tone, "I'm glad you called, they already told me about you! And it ain't they fault." I tried to continue but he was rude, cut me off, and screamed at me in a very irritated tone. He continued to speak to me in this angry and unprofessional manner despite the fact that my friend told him she could hear him and that his tone was unacceptable.  He ignored all that and persistently repeated, "We ain't do it! It was like that when you came. Take me to court, do whatever you have to do." He then promptly hung the phone up in my face. I am very disappointed and upset that I now have to pay for this damage that was no fault of mine. I am also deeply disappointed that I came to a local Black business to support them, and was grossly mistreated by David Matlock. He was so shamelessly rude and brazen. I never got to try Perfect Touch. Here's why. November 2020, I reached out about getting paint correction done on my truck. David Matlock responded very quickly to my email with a quote and that he could do it the next day. Paint correction is a process, as I know because I use to do it. I never responded as I was getting other quotes...my fault. I should have responded. I recently reached out to David to found out when a good time would be for me to drop off my truck. Below is the conversation. April 25, 2021 Me: Hey David, Thanks for the quick response. I'm sorry that I did not respond as quickly. What days are you available this coming week to do this job? David: 9am to 5 pm Me: I will drop it off at 10am Wednesday, April 28th. David: let me see if I have anything available for that this week May 3 (As I got back in town from Dallas because of my fathers funeral) Me: David, Anything? David: sorry we're booked all out It sounds like to me David doesn't want to work with me. But more importantly, the customer service was terrible and I never even got chance to bring my truck in. read more

It was not raining or predicted to rain until night. He sent me an appointment reminder earlier that day. I called and spoke to a male employee who said she was not there. He text me at 212 saying he was there. Maybe but 2 people verified he was not. Very unprofessional! He won't touch my car if that's how he operates read more

New to the area and needed a wash! I prefer hand wash over machine because I dont trust those big machines dragging across my car. The trade off is you get a human hand and they arent able to always get those hard to reach places (roof top). I got the deluxe (which is 25+ for a compact/car). The location is decent, wait on a busy Saturday was minimal. The reason for 3 stars is there were some spots missed during the wash and vacuum (true rating 3.75) I would recommend and do plan on returning maybe this was a one-off. All the guys there are helpful energized and want to help. Just wish I didnt have to be that "you missed a spot" kinda girl pointing out all the little areas they should've caught but didnt. Ill give another try for sure. read more

I drive from North Hills to Perfect Touch because they're the best around. Other places I've gone to don't pay attention to detail even when you pay for their "deluxe" package. Perfect touch I pay $16 for interior only and $30 inside and out +Tires(on a SUV may be cheaper for cars) and every time I leave satisfied and gladly tip. Lemme tell you, my car was DIRTY. I got it in 2013 and apart from me lazily vacuuming and cleaning the interior, it's never really got a good clean. I had stains on my back seat from god knows what and there was tree sap all over the top of my car. When they got finished, the stains were out of my seat, the tree sap was gone, and the inside looked and smelled like new! They're very professional and friendly. I had a nice conversation with one of the gentlemen. I think it may be a black owned business which I LOVE. I will definitely be back again and I intend on sending anyone who asks me here as well! I had a great experience with the Durham Perfect Touch shop! Walter was considerate and helpful, and my car looked so much better after I had neglected it for a few years. He restored the headlights to look nearly new again (my car is a 2012). The cloth seats don't have any stains like before. If I wasn't moving, I'd definitely go back whenever I might need another car clean up, and will recommend this place to friends. There was a little mix up because I emailed using the email on the website to make an appointment, and the recipient assumed I wanted a mobile service, so when I arrived at Perfect Touch to drop off my car, there was someone on the way to my house. Walter thoughtfully called the mobile tech when he realized so they didn't get all the way there, and didn't make me feel bad at all for the mix up. So the email communications could be a bit more clear, to ask which type of service I was requesting rather than assume. The person I was emailing with who runs the mobile unit had a really informal style of emailing, which gave me pause, but once I met Walter I knew I didn't have to worry about it. Giving 5 stars because I really enjoyed my experience with Walter and don't fault him for the emails (it was another person writing them and they didn't do the car service). If I had called I'm sure I would have had a better time scheduling. (They have an online booking tool, but I wanted multiple services in the same appointment so decided to go another route). read more

My car was cleaned thoroughly and quickly. It's not a fancy looking place, but I enjoy sitting under a shady tree while I wait.

This is a text I sent the owner of this detail shop after inspecting my car closer when I got home with it! I was charged $115 for clay bar, buff wax, and interior detail. The interior look decent, the windows still had some of the same goo on them when I picked it up as when I left it. I do not recommend you getting your car detailed there, and if you do I would sit there and watch them to make sure it is being buffed and waxed, as I really do not believe they buffed or waxed my car at all! So upon closer inspection of my car, it had grit all in the finish. The same grit it had in it when I dropped it off, which is why I asked you to clay bar it. As I said I usually do the clay bar, glaze and waxing myself both by hand and with a buffer. And when I am done with it you don't feel grit in the finish at all, plus there were several spots that I knew were there, and were still there when I got the car home. I got a cotton swab and some glaze, rubbed it just a little and the spots came right off. And I put a micro fiber rag on the hood and pushed it, it did not budge. When a car has been buffed and waxed a microfiber rag will slide clear across the hood. I suspect my car was merely washed on the outside, if it was buffed and waxed it was done very poorly. And there is no way it was clay bared. There is way too much grit in the finish for it to have been, I will go buy a clay bar and bring it up there and let you feel it, after I put a clay bar to the finish. There will be a difference I promise you. I will pay you guys what I owe you for your efforts to my car, but I will not be recommending nor returning to your detail shop. I would appreciate it if you put more effort into my suv's exterior. If it is not clay bar buffed and or waxed trust me I'll know. I really should have known better to have trusted someone else to detail my vehicles. Lesson learned! read more
