After an amazing trip to Taiwan last year to see family, finding authentic beef noodle soup was a mission I wanted to conquer! Moving from Denver, there was a very tiny Taiwanese community out there and only two restaurants at opposite ends of the city to get good beef noodle soup. Enter Bull Daddy Noodle Bistro! The English name does not translate from the Chinese name directly but I can see the transliteration. Their claim to fame is beef noodle soup aka 牛肉面. They definitely deliver flavor, quality and temperature! Quick tip: If you get any kind of noodle soup, don't forget to stir it up and mix around everything in the bowl. I got to the bottom of my beef noodle soup and it was very beefy and borderline salty. Lesson learned so I wanted to pass this along to you. Noodles had amazing quality and had a very homemade taste! Service was quick (helps that only 3 tables were eating), and the pickup orders kept flowing at the front desk. Many people have suggested this restaurant for their beef noodle soup, which we adored. The beef melted in our mouths and had just such homey flavor. We opted for medium spice, which wasn't really spicy at all. I ordered the house beef soup which includes tripe and tendon, which was worth the extra few dollars. The meat was all perfectly cooked. The spicy tripe was a splurge, though I probably wouldn't order again. The "chicken nuggets" had a nice hit of white pepper and a light crunch. Was running errands around Plano today and decided to give this place a try. Nice semi hidden spot; was expecting it to be crowded for lunch, but it wasn't. The young girl waiting tables was just the sweetest; gave great recommendations and was really on top of her game when a few people did come in. I got the winter melon tea; and it was delicious! We got a little bit of everything to try. The A Choy was pretty tasty; I would've liked more salt on the vegetable part. The shrimp rolls were delicious! I had read reviews saying they were bland; but I loved them; we got two orders! I dipped mine in the sauce and it was golden! I also ordered the pig ears; nice flavor, wish I would've gotten them spicy like the waitress recommended. The garlic cucumbers were amazing, the vegetable mix was okay.... Just not my cup of tea. I ordered the dry spicy beef and tendon noodles with mustard greens! DELICIOUS!!!! Ordered the same thing as a soup, not spicy. Very good as well; but I like the dry noodles better. This was on my lunch bucket list before the SiP hit. I finally tried it today and they did not dissapoint. I got the beef noodle soup (Light spice) and the (tawainese ) chicken nuggets. The nuggets looked and smelled so good that I started eating them on the car on the way home. The portion was pretty small but perfect for 1 person. The beef noodle soup hit the spot. The broth is rich and oily and the noodles have a perfect chew to them. I'll be coming back to dine in once SiP is over! read more

Bull Daddy has definitely become my go-to place for flavorful, delicious beef noodle soup in the DFW metroplex. I've been here several times over the past couple years and the thick chewy noodles, hearty broth, and generous, tender portions of beef and tendon can't be beat. I also love that they don't automatically put cilantro in their beef noodle soup, and that you can ask for complementary pickled Chinese mustard on the side to dump in your meal. I've also tried the tofu with century egg, the wontons, the popcorn chicken, the garlic cucumber, and the scallion pancake here. All appetizer offerings are very solid, and my favorites are probably the garlic cucumber (so flavorful) and the scallion pancake (light and crispy and not too oily)! Be aware that they get busy during peak meal hours (especially when it's cold outside, the perfect time for beef noodle soup) and that the card minimum is $15 before tip. Docked off a star because sometimes service gets a bit spotty, and they aren't very forgiving of the card minimum or splitting the check sometimes, but any time I'm craving a good, authentic bowl of beef noodle soup, I'll definitely be back! read more

I like EXTRA spicy when it comes to my food. When I read the mixed reviews on how good/bad it was here, my boyfriend and I had to try it out ourselves. We got both the spicy beef noodles but one soup and one dry in thick noodles. First, I was expecting like flat thick noodles, which was a disappointment. Then when I tried the soup, it was mostly in oil. Yes, it was extra spicy but I felt like I was going to have a heart attack from eating it. The dry noodles were better than the soup noodles. Ofc, I got my pig's ears in spicy which was good. The popcorn chicken was bland... It is clean here. The service was excellent. FOOD POISONING!!! I am a regular customer here and I come here every couple of weeks to eat with my family and so when my friend was hungry yesterday afternoon I decided to buy her some takeout from here for her to eat. I ordered her a item which I believe was the beef pork stew or something similar to that. The meat that she was given was stale and I had told her not to eat it. However she was really hungry and ate it anyways because that was the main part of the meal. Because of the dry, stale-looking meat, she has a severe case of food poisoning now. She has been sick all day and is vomiting as i am writing this review. I am appalled that such an establishment would serve unsafe food to its customers. read more

When it comes to noodle soup, there are quite a few options: Vietnamese (pho), Japanese (udon), Cantonese (wonton noodles), and Taiwanese. There may be some more I don't know about. Each style has its own uniqueness. Sorry I don't count the Campbell chicken noodle soup. Bull Daddy specializes in beef noodle soups. They pride themselves in their hot and spicy beef noodles. They really mean it. It's not for the faint of heart. We came here to make a point to try just that because we love spicy food - the hotter the better. We ordered the Bull Daddy Hell Beef Noodle - the really really hot version. The broth was very rich, flavorful, and delicious. As to the spicy level, I don't think they are kidding! It's unbelievably hot and spicy! We were not able to finish all the broth and noodles. It was wickedly hot! The beef was chunky and tender with unique Chinese herbal flavors. How can I forget the noodles? They are freshly made noodles - not sure if they are made in-house. They are moist and chewy. Nicely absorbing the flavor of the broth, they are very good! In addition, we ordered the fried shrimp rolls. There were like five pieces. The wrap was crunchy and the shrimp was fresh. We liked it a lot. The spicy noodle soup we ordered may not be what you want. But they have other mild version for the wider public. This place has quite possibly the best bowl of Dan Dan noodles I've ever tasted! The blend of flavor was spot on and left me with that "wow" factor that very few places can achieve, leading to an undoubted 5 star review. The first my guy and I figured we would try a house favorite and a toss up dish. My guy definitely felt he could handle the highly acclaimed level 1 hell beef noodle soup and i went with the pork rice dish. Let me just say he grew up on sichuan food and almost choked on the first sip of the broth so I traded. I'm so glad that i did. So, I was very excited to try Bull Daddy when I heard about it from a few friends! I ordered the dry beef + tendon noodles, and my husband and I shared a Taiwanese sausage appetizer. The sausage was pretty good, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, the noodles were amazing! The beef was deeply flavorful, and the noodles were hand-pulled and perfectly chewy. I actually prefer the dry noodles over the noodle soup because the broth is more concentrated in the dry noodles. They give a pretty decent portion size (i.e. I can only finish 1/2 - 3/4, and the husband gets to eat the rest), and a good ratio of meat to noodles. Since then, I've been back a few times, but my husband has driven from Dallas to Plano once a week to eat here. That's how good it is. Now I am not a novice chili eater, I like Szechuan hot and numbing spice, I am down with Thai chilies raw... now, level 3 Bull Daddy noodle is the hottest thing I ever put in my mouth. I am so glad that I found this place. My family and I are from Taiwan, and this place is 100% authentic. We wanted to order everythingggg on the menu since we miss the food so much from Taiwan. Yan Su Ji (chicken nuggets), scallion pancakes and shrimp rolls are really good appetizers. The beef noodle soup is so good, especially of you add an egg and dip your scallion pancake in it. My first experience at a different restaurant was a disaster so I decided to check Yelp and found this bistro tucked away in a small plaza on Coit Rd, which seemed to be a long stretch of Asian restaurants as this was the 4th time that Yelp has brought us to this area in search of Chinese/Taiwanese food. But I digress. The beef noodle soup here is yummy and hearty. The beef chunks were tender and juicy. I do wish the noodle was hand-pulled for more texture, but I'm satisfied! The other reviews are right - there was no veg in their beef noodle soup, so we ordered a plate of A-choy on the side, which was equally tasty. They are known for their beef noodle soup. So that is what I got. That was one of the best decisions I've made in awhile. It was very tasty. The beef was so deliciously tender. Yum. And the noodles were perfectly made and cooked. The spice level is not Asian spice levels, so feel free to order the spicy. The dry version of the beef noodle was delicious as well. The portion sizes of the starters were very generous and the flavors of the preserved eggs and pig ears were on point. For the mains, we had the beef noodle soup and the stewed pork over rice. The noodles were nice and bouncy and the broth was very tasty. Reminded us of Taiwan for sure. The stewed pork came out a bit dry and we had to ask for some more sauce to deepen the flavor. Service here was good, except for 1 guy who gave a lot of attitude every time we asked for something. If you can't handle simple requests, you probably shouldn't be working in the service industry. I understand it's during COVID and we should be supportive of local restaurants, but I had a horrible take out experience today that I will not be returning. Ordered two beef and tendon noodle soup at 12:20pm through Grubhub (maybe that was a mistake...should have just called). Estimated ready time 12:40-12:50pm. By 12:55pm the grub hub app still has "work in progress" so I decided to go inside. The food was ready at the counter. No worries. I got home and my family made an observation "hey they only gave four pieces of beef with each order today...they've been generous before". The tendons were missing all together. So I pretty much paid $2 extra for each item only for them to make my orders wrong. Maybe I was getting punished for tipping too low. read more

It was a Sunday evening, and we were able to park easily out front. The place was fairly full, but again, we were able to be seated immediately. There were many ethnicities here and the menu is straight forward and very English friendly. We got the beef dry noodles, spicy beef soup, wontons in chili sauce, and fried rice. All of it was great, but the wontons in chili sauce were some of the best I've ever had. I also liked that the beef dry noodles were cold, which is only offered during the summer.
