So I love the food here. However EVERY Saturday my partner and I order the bagel sand which with added on bacon, because the regular sandwich is a pretty good but the bacon makes it a treat I look forward to every week. However for the last month or so, every Saturday, no bacon. It even says bacon on the bag. They do refund the bacon add on but it's a little like getting a salad with no dressing and them just refunding the dressing. By 1:00-1:30 p.m., the selection is slim, and they close at 2:00 p.m. If you're hoping for specific flavors, plan to get there much earlier. I got the smoked salmon bagel with light cream cheese. The salmon melted in your mouth but there wasn't a lot of it so a lot of the bites were just cream cheese and capers. Everything tasted good and the bagel was fine. The shop was empty for lunch on a Tuesday so I was able to get in and out with my sandwich in about 10-15 minutes. They have seating upstairs if you want to stay and eat there. It's very small inside so I imagine it can get a bit cramped if you're waiting for your bagel when it's busy. Omg I am so happy that my friend crystal recommended this place and the brisket bagel. I arrived around 12:30/1pm and unfortunetly most of the bagels were gone and only plain and sesame were left. I opted for the brisket bagel, onions, butter, chips, and pickle. Against my better judgement I ate the entire bagel web was stuffed for the rest of the night. This is a great choice for Eastern Market bagels. I had the everything bagel with sausage, egg, and cheese. It was tasty. For a bagel, I would have preferred a sausage patty. It came as sausage links sliced in half. So, they didn't really stay on the bagel with each bite. My easy solution is to go with the bacon next time. Ordered and ate on the 2nd floor balcony. The lines are long so come early and be prepared to queue for a bit especially during the weekends, which also attest to how famous they are for their bagels. Finally tried Bullfrog and while it was a fine breakfast sandwich, it just doesn't compare to the newer bagel establishments in dc. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on an asiago. Let's start with the bagel - it was sorta thin, didn't have much chew at all, honestly if it wasn't shaped like a bagel I might not know it was one. It was also weirdly sweet? Which for an asiago bagel was weird. It did ok as sandwich bread though. For the sandwich - tasted mostly fine, questionable choice serving a sausage egg and cheese with three sausage links cut in half, just weird and everything falls apart. I don't have one near me so I doubt I'll return anytime soon, I'd go if it was around the corner with no other options but for me not really worth the carbs. Prices are better than other shops (around 7 or $8 for the sandwich), but is it worth it.. read more

As I waited I was already deciding what I will get the next time I come in. There are plenty of options for everyone here. It's a great place for breakfast and lunch.
