I have been going here for 5 years and it truly is a gem in the fort myers area. I'll even include a picture of my first review of bullig to show you that the quality has never declined and they truly just get better. They don't come to the table and take your order- you seat yourself and order and the kiosk and they bring your food to you. Usually takes 25-30 mins for food. Which is totally fine by me, & so worth the wait! Try the bee-itch or the bullig for savory, & the gimme s'more or the seriously waffle for sweet. Let's start with the good - dog friendly location with a nice patio. The food is REALLY good. It's almost all waffles, but the waffles are really good and so many of the sauces are homemade. We had both sweet (nutella and fruit) and savory (melted pimento cheese with bacon, pickled onions, and green aioli). The melted pimento waffle was outstanding. The iced latte was good and the homemade vanilla was tasty. Also had one of their sparkling water drinks. The not so good - we've seen warnings that they need time because everything is made to order. That's fine, and in fact we prefer it that way. BUT, the place isn't that big and 50 minutes from ordering to service is a long time. It only takes baking the waffle and adding a few toppings... Go when you haven't seen someone in a long time and want to have an extended conversation. They ask for 20 percent tipping. We always tip really well and don't have a problem with that. But you order and pay at the counter and someone just brings out the food. Tables are not checked on at all and so many tables sat for extended time before they were serviced after diners left. We'll go back because the food was really good, but know you need to have lots of time because you pay up front and it's going to be a long while for your food. read more

Amazing breakfast spot if you love waffles located in Fort Myers area. parking can be found easily. The place is very welcoming and clean. Order at the front inside and you can choose to sit inside or outside in the patio area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Price is reasonable. Food: I ordered the Bullig and it's extremely tasteful and savory. Very filling as well. Consist of bacon, cheese that is layered with Fresh Cut Tomato, Avocado, Maple Dressed Greens, & a Poached egg (I got over medium). When we walked in we were greeted with smiles and confidence on the quality of ingredients. I seldom feel this way trying a new place. A very friendly lady took us to a table (you can sit inside or out) and asked if we had been there before. I said neither of us have been here and she immediately helped us work our way through the menu...the espresso, homemade tea drinks, and the waffle menu. My return to Bullig was just as delicious as my first visit. I tried one of their seasonal lattes, Fred. It's a gingerbread latte topped with a mini lebkuchen star and festive sprinkles. It has a nice subtle gingerbread flavor. I opted to try a different waffle this time. I ordered the "Seriously?" I may have found a favorite! It's Nutella with homemade raspberry jam, fresh raspberries, and melted Brie sandwiched between their original waffle. It comes with a side of homemade raspberry compote. The Brie adds a nice balance to the sweet. There is a sign by the registers informing guests of wait times for food; 5 minutes for drinks and 30-45 minutes for food. I felt like the service was fast today, but I did get here an hour after opening. They tuned their Up corner into a beautiful Christmas set up at grandma and grandpas. read more

What a cute lil cafe! I came across this place when I was downtown and needed to wait on my ride and I was hungry. Being GF, I looked up any nearby gluten friendly spots and Bullig popped up. I was so super satisfied! They have a menu of waffle-wiches, all of which can be served with a GF waffle. I had a plain GF waffle with bacon(Tails-a-waggin) and a side of poached eggs on greens. All was absolutely delicious!! I finished everything and was extremely satisfied. Delicious waffles and lattes!! If you're in the area and need a good waffle fix this is the place to go! The ambiance is so cute inside and they have a nice outdoor patio area with shaded and non shaded options. We loved all the waffle details in the indoor decor. Super cute and charming brunch place in downtown Ft. Myers. We walked in a little after 11am on a Saturday and I wasn't sure what to expect as far as wait/ availability. To my surprise, we were able to get a table right away. They have a QR code on the table that you scan for the menu and you go up to the counter to order. The server brings you your drink and food. The menu consists of waffles with different toppings. A few savory options and plenty of sweet options. I believe I saw one salad/ bowl on the menu and different sides available. The drink menu is also pretty extensive. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is perfect if you have a pup! Would def recommend! read more

Extremely disappointed. If i could give 0 for customer service today i would. I come here all the time. One of my favorite places. I came to celebrate my birthday for breakfast with my boyfriend, it took 30 minutes to get a water. after waiting over an hour for our food after watching multiple tables that came after us already received theirs and finished their meal i asked them how long for ours and they said it hasn't even gotten put in yet. I told them just cancel the order then they still wanted me to pay for my coffee that was made wrong (missing fresh raspberries and the marshmallows). After receiving the coffee 45 minutes went by we never even got checked on. Water cups were empty and i couldn't even tell them my drink was wrong. Stevies customer service was just full of excuses after admitting she put other people's orders in before us by accident just shrugged her shoulders and basically said it is what it is. I used to come here all the time for the food and service! For some reason this morning was different.. the staff came up to us asking if we've ever been here then proceeded to say I'll give you a moment and walked away , then came back up and asked us if we were ready to order food before we even ordered drinks.. then our drinks finally came out after about 15 minutes.. we ordered food, and after that no one came to check on us for another hour and 15 mins.. I had to grab a food runners attention to ask if our food was coming anytime soon because people who got there after us had there food and were leaving before we even got ours.. they continued to tell us it would be another 10-15 mins at the most, we didn't wanna walk out so stayed the EXTRA 20 mins just to get our food.. i will never be coming back with this experience I've had today im appalled. read more

I knew once I saw the menu here, that we'd need to stop and check it out before leaving the Ft Myers area. We were once of the first people in the door at 9am on a Sunday morning. The restaurant quickly filled up after our arrival. Clearly, locals and tourists alike must know about the great food at Bullig. The inside is very warm and inviting, from the nostalgic decorations tying things back to the owner's grandmother, to the rustic beams, wooden tables, and leather seats. The staff were all friendly and we received our order quickly. The chai-based Dirty Bee's were incredible. For anyone who likes a good dirty chai, try their variation with Florida honey - it rocks. The sandwiches were delicious too. Although the waffles were a tad sweeter than I thought they'd be, pairing them with savory stuffing of eggs, pickled onions, etc made for a very pleasant match. this place is just. Wow. This has to be the best food ive ever had in my life, the waffles felt like eating clouds and the drinks were spectacular. You can tell how much love and hard work was put into these recipes. The customer service was spectacular and everyone was extremely nice and rushed to help us with anything we needed and even had a nice conversation with us. The place is very homey and the ambiance is on spot with the cafe's vibe. I wouldnt spend my money anywhere else and really enjoyed my stay at bullig. Also, I saw a review saying they had rude service from a server named Mel. We had Mel and she was amazing. Truly the kindest person and seemed very happy. I loved the backstory of the cafe, and the way everything was dedicated to the owners grandma. We are in town visiting family. When we decided to visit the butterfly gardens today. We were told by the family that the waffle Cafe that is attached to the butterfly garden was delicious. At first glance this place looks cute quaint full of promise. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and extremely friendly. After that it goes down hill. We ordered our 3 waffles . 45 minutes later my daughter's waffle arrives. We wait another 10 minutes for my husband waffle and another 5 minutes for my waffles. Ridiculous with such a small restaurant that we all can't get our food on time. Now that food was great. Was it worth waiting a hour for. I don't thinks. We go to pay and it was $70 for 3 waffles and coffee. I was outraged! Then I learned that they tack on 20% onto the bill. Unacceptable for mediocre food and terrible 45+minutes service. Five stars for the food and creativity. Quaint little place in downtown Fort Myers. Parking is around back. Don't open until 10:00 (which is a bit strange for a primarily breakfast and coffee restaurant). It's all about the Waffles, savory or sweet. Really liked this place, service was good, you place order and pay when you go in and they bring the food to you as ready (there is a sign on the counter telling you the ETA on food and drinks, ours was 35 min on food and it was about 20 min). Few notes of interest: it's expensive (but worth it) there is a 19% service charge that states clearly it's not a tip, just added to the bill, because? And, no refills on coffee, for $4.25 for a cup of regular coffee, a refill would have been nice. Having said all this, it's a nice treat for brunch, good food, nice environment. read more

Be aware that they add 19% to your bill as gratuity for all of the staff that isn't a waiter and they expect you to add another tip for the waiters. Sabrina Schoellchen left Germany and her catering job of more than two decades to open Bullig, a coffee shop and restaurant in downtown Fort Myers. Bullig Coffee & Bites, is dedicated to Schoellchen's French bulldog, Gilly. The German word bullig translates to English as beefy. The coffee shop is on Fowler Street in downtown Fort Myers in the location of the former Gathering Place at The Butterfly Estates. A quote from Bullig on their Face book page says "At Bullig, we strive to fuel the goal of making each day count by mixing our love of family, the aroma of good coffee, and tasty bites to satisfy any hunger." No one is allowed inside the dining room right now. You order outside and there is seating on the porch. They hope to reopen the dinning room in time for their anniversary on June 22nd. The outside seating is dog friendly so bring your best four legged buddy. Their menu looked great with waffles, bites, and fancy coffee drinks. Unfortunately I arrived too late to try the delicious sounding food but they kindly offered to make me a coffee drink even though it was past closing. I ordered an iced Ezra, latte pimped with mom's caramel sauce ($4.95). It was heaven in a cup. Just perfect. Now I really want to come back and try the menu. Don't come over late in the day like I did. They close at 3 and there is a lot to do here. What a wonderful restaurant we found in Yelp today. my sister had to become vegan and there was a yelp write up about how this restaurant could change things to be vegan so we thought we'd try it it restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating is served on a waffle we were able to get a vegan waffle with vegan toppings the chef came out and talk to my sister to make sure she could cook exactly what my sister needed Talk about going above and beyond we split one order vegan omelette The cheese wasn't vegan so cheese was just my half not the other half it came with maple syrup and hummus Both were delicious Mine came in a sauce. It wasn't vegan, but it was good. We split the sandwich because it looked very big and it was more than enough for us. The food was phenomenal. We tried a vegan maple coffee and we tried a vanilla coffee with cream. Both were absolutely delicious. We should've gotten the larger size because they were so good. The food was excellent. The service was even better. The owner came out and talked to us. We had a beautiful table outside. She explained the whole entire process to us. We explained that we needed a vegan. She made great examples of what she could do then actually replaced her order. The chef came back to confirm. They both did an outstanding job and we can't wait to go back. Food was delicious.
